Hi Christopher, thanks for giving extensive answer to the first question. I have an exact same mindset as yourself about the state of collecting 50ps and £2 coins, but I've now made the conscious decision with little to no new commemoratives being released in circulation, which is all part of collecting and the RM relying on people just buying coins to collect nowadays, I'm no longer collecting new releases at all. I'm still not onboard with the Star Wars, 8 coins and more Harry Potter coins etc, it's also too much tat in my opinion. I'm now only looking through my change to try to find the older remaining 50ps and £2 coins I need for my collection, that way I'm not spending any of my money with the RM and I hope that helps send them a message if others do the same. I appreciate what you have said here, it's not easy to say it when the premise of your channel is to promote coin collecting.
Unfortunately no alphabet and only one territory, a bit of a damp squib but as you alluded to in response to my comment 10p’s are a tough hunt and it’s not as surprising when we get results like this, we can only hope the next one is better 😊 At least the Q&A was good 😊 Great stuff Christopher 👍🏻
Growing up in the '70s I had to translate the "new fangled" coins to my Nan. I used to enjoy seeing shillings or florins and wondering who would be on the heads side.
As a boy in the 1960s, the oldest coin I came across in my change was an 1864 penny. You could get a pocket full of coins with five different monarchs.
Old bloke here I remember asking for bun pennies as the change over happened! Up to 5p/10p shrinking ERII GRVI even GRV could be had before the time of "sadness😅"
As you say we should be celebrating the people on the coins: how can we celebrate them if they never get circulated? Do they only want nifc collectors to celebrate?
Hello Christopher, great content as always. I’ve a question for Q+A: when you complete the world record attempt are you considering hunting 1p coins in the unhuntables too?
Hi Christopher, I’ve got a question. I’ve found a 2019 alphabet 10p coin in my change (E) and I saw that the mintage was only 94,000. Why is this not a very sought after coin?
people need to use cash more, i've given up on cards and gone back to cash its easier to budget and not dependent on computer systems. also we need harry potter coins
Today 11/05/24 I went into a lidl store and at the self checkout I got the 2019 Snowman 50p, am I right in believing that this is an N.I.F.C? Love the daily output from you to all who have subscribed to Christopher Collects.
I think that there have been enough Harry Potter 50p and Dinosaur 50p minted now. It is like they are running out of design ideas now. Would be nice now to have something different.
I live in Scotland and we never get £2 coins in our change it is always £1coins, you and the other coin hunters keep saying common coins when you're hunting. I've never seen the majority of the coins and only see them on your sites. I've not even got the 2 Brunnel set or the 3 Shakespear set. The 50p coins are scarce and again I've got very few and I don't think I'll ever get the rest. The 10p coins must be kept south of the border, I've got one and my sister got in her change it's B for Bond. I'm beginning to think I need another hobby.

I really agree with what you said about the royal mint selling BU coins, but not putting them into circulation. I really hope TRM sees this.
