This is actually coming at a perfect time. It’s my first time taking a college level Biology course and I’m worried about retaining content and keeping my learning concentrated, rather than just blindly looking over notes
Hey man, thanks your all your hard work! I'm currently a second year, and have a long way to go until USMLE, but I am trying to use anki a lot for studying, but I have a major problem: making the flash cards themselves. I feel like making the flashcards takes longer than reviewing them. Do you have some tips on how to make cards fast? Ty :)
when you don't record videos, do you still verbalise the cards? finding it hard to interalise the card if i don't write or speak. do you have any tips? love your content!
Good question. I actually usually don't! Maybe early on, I do, but generally if I don't know something, I'll press again, and the next time I see it, I usually spend just a bit more time on it learning how it works/what I'm getting confused by.
How would you recommend tackling a pre-made deck like Duke's pathoma? It has almost 2000 cards and my new cards per day is 75 with unlimited reviews and it's soo overwhelming.. Would you recommend splitting it into 200-400 cards each sub decks? And if you get time, a video on everything about tagging and the browse window would be much appreciated. Still don't understand how to navigate it properly. And I literally just finished re-watching all 20 plus of your anki videos a few hours ago at 2.5 x speed to set up anki properly after I updated to 2.1.
Can you elaborate or provide sources upon your statement that exposure and antibody development to one of the alphacoronaviruses (common cold variants) affords you protection against the novel beta coronavirus SARS-CoV-2? There is high variability and mutation among the receptor binding domain which is why we never develop immunity to the common cold, let alone the SARS-CoV-2 virus is my current understanding.
Hi Prerak can u make a video on how u learn the card for the first time, that would be great ... I have seen you make new cards...this vid is about learning cards....I want to know how do you learn it for the first time and what is you same day new cards steps time
Love the videos! I am curious, did you change the steps or intervals (for new cards or lapses) in your decks? Or do you just stick with the default settings?
@@dylanv1994use Thanks a lot for that. I am actually planning to make my own decks for step 2 CK. Getting done with step 1 as soon as the quarantine gets over. Stay safe ! Thanks again.
Hi! I'm new to Anki and kinda confused when dealing with Zanki, etc. I'm going to try my best to explain lol I don't know if I should click on the top heading when doing new cards, or should I go based off of the subsections? Whenever I click the main heading, I can't do "new cards" from the subheadings. does that make sense? I'm not sure how to go about this
I recently heard abour RemNote, wich is supposed to be a "similar but better" alternative for learning with spaced repetition. Does anyone here use it? I'd like to read your opinion about it
Anki returns the cards to you when you're about to forget them. This is all done in a very systemic and automated way. Also, Anki can store the original context of where you got the information from. This becomes handy because sometimes you may not remember why a piece of information on a flashcard is important or even if it's really correct. I'd suggest you read the following article written by the creator of Supermemo (the program that originally inspired Anki). He wrote some rules for creating good flashcards. www.supermemo.com/en/archives1990-2015/articles/20rules Those rules are good to know whether you use regular flashcards or Anki flashcards.

Have you tried creating or using Anki?
Cool video. Could you make a video of you making your own flash cards from a lecture/slides?

Jagan Joseph hey what do you mean with "Dukes pathoma"? Its a premade deck that you can download it?
@@imasuperkoala Yeah check it out, it's on reddit, it's pretty good.
Big fan of the duke deck. I started with the whole deck suspended and ONLY unsuspended cards as I got through the respective pathoma chapter.
@@PrerakJuthani Ahh that makes sense, thank you !
I've got to learn how tags , hierarchical tags etc work first 😅😂

Hey, is there any reason you prefer to use Anki over Quizlet. For me, quizlet just seems to have a better UI and is more intuitive.

Yes please! It takes a so much time for me to learn the card first several times it pops up...
Hi! Can you please share the links of the premade decks that you used? Thanks

Damn it's almost half a decade since COVID.
Hey, have you ever thought of sharing your Anki decks with your audience ?

When would you mark a card as easy? it seemed like u had a lot of these down
May you share the lectures on corona virus you watched?
After making a set of cards, how long do you spend time revising them before being able to review them at such high speed?
Yoo sick new intro dude

Do you back up your anki flashcards anywhere?
AnkiWeb. It's free. And it allows you to sync it with your other devices. The Android app is free as well, but the iOS app is $25.
how to include "hard option " for recalling , i just hav easy good, again ,also how to correct the intervals
Ampicillin 50mg I think you need to turn on “Anki 2.1 Beta option” in Preferences
What's wrong with regular flash cards?
