Hi from the UK, I've been an Elvis fan from the beginning in 1956, and I found your series facinating and very interesting, although I sold my Elvis vinyl collection many years ago, its great to remember all the old vinyl releases, bringing back lots of memories for me, my collection nowadays is the complete FTD collection, again collected from the beginning, keep up the good work, cheers!
Thank you for a fantastic video I'm from Britain we don't really have a big hype sticker history our album's never came in a shrink wrap that I recall.
Another great video. I always learn from your videos. I never knew about the stickers I always threw mine away with the shrink wrap. Keep the videos coming.
Hey Robert another great episode..for your information the Ftd stickers come off fairly easy without the need for lighter fluid. The most difficult one I found was King Creole but with patience it can be done. Thankyou for educating me some more..take care sir😉
Great show really great shoe ! - here in the UK hype stickers were not used as much as over the pond, but a fascinating insight into what people used to throw away. Can’t wait for the next episode- fantastic stuff mate 👍🏼
Another great show about hype stickers. You enlightened me about this years ago. Just a quick word the "Good Times" lp behind you came with several different stickers, depending on which and when you bought the pressing .Keep the Great shows coming.
Hi Dennis. Actually, "Good Times" came with only two stickers. The first was "I've Got A Thing About You Baby" and the second was "My Boy" which was attached to the cover directly over the first sticker. Thanks and keep watching!
@@collectingtheking Hi Bob. Great show. Regarding the "Good Times" album stickers, I've seen some albums on E-Bay with both stickers separated, meaning "My boy' was not on the first sticker "I've Got A Thing About You Baby". Would those albums be rarer?
I peeled the sticker right off on the FTD vinyl records set. Most of the time it comes off real good. and I put if back on. It doesn't tear. Other stickers from the the new vinyl records stickers are hard to come off.
Really interesting show, thank you Robert. Your copy of the 'From Memphis to Vegas' double album looks awesome! I bought a copy of the '57 Christmas album from the USA last year. Just checked for the foil sticker, (it's not on there LOL!). I guess it's understandable why Elvis Is Back!, Aloha From Hawaii and the Stuck On You 45 sleeves initially came without track listings but the 'Date With Elvis' release was very strange, (especially as the song titles would have been so much more preferable to the totally underwhelming demob calendar on the back). You made me laugh when you mentioned buying a second copy of FTD's 'Roustabout' set... brilliant! Was your copy of the 1964 original issued with a bonus photo, (or a sticker) in the US please? Both that LP and 'Wooden Heart' were number one's on the album and singles charts here in the UK too.
I picked up a Good Times LP with two hype stickers on it. The I've got a Thing About You is mostly covered by the pink My Boy hype sticker. The shrink is partially torn, but all is still attached. I have the latest Presleyana and the My Boy sticker lists at $400, but I wondered with both...
That price is about right and could apply to both stickers because that's mostly how they were applied. I've only seen a few copies where the "My Boy" sticker was seperate from the other.
Hi Bob. Really enjoyed this show since I collect all these albums with the stickers. I was finally able to get the rare 'From Memphis to Vegas/From Vegas to Memphis' green sticker. Mine is also on the back of the double album. Do you know why that was done? You did not go into further details. Thanks.
Hey Jules. No, I don't. Until we can talk to someone who might have worked at an RCA plant at the time the album was pressed, we may never know. It makes no sense to me what so ever.
@@epgoldenage7049 I'm assuming cut1986 is talking about the Photos flyer insert that went inside Elvis' Golden Records Volume 1? Unless he's referring to the actural photos (cards) that you got when you mailed in for them using the flyer. Not sure.
@@epgoldenage7049 I am referring to the flyer inside of Golden Records Vol. 1. I have seen the same seller list it many many times. It just seems to good to be true.
Interesting question, The answer is basically, "no". The only thing you can do to prevent the shrinkwrap from ripping any further than it already has is to put a peice of scotch tape at the end of the tear in the shrink. That's about it.
Incredibly interesting Thank you so much for taking the time Robert. Keep em' comin'.

Thinking it's more important or better to keep the sticker on the plastic. That's my opinion I duppose. But do agree to hang on the the hype stickers
Thank you for these videos. Another thing to watch on EBAY is people who have MULTIPLE cards from Elvis Golden Records Vol. 1
cut1986 Do you mean a single seller with multiple cards, or you’ve seen fake versions of the card?

Return to Sender sticker on Girls Girls Girls RE?
Ah, yeah. I thought you had one in your collection.
