Just got my 45F-2 last month and have already been to Yosemite and Redwoods with it. I love the camera, and I thoroughly enjoyed and appreciate this video. Very helpful.

great video, well done, as a note, the bellows at 8:02 are called 'universal' or combination, for most lenses, up to 90mm; the standard pleated type is for standard 150 and up; bag bellows go from 135/90 on down to 47/38 mm lenses, depending how supple they are, ie: the sinar monorails have two styles of bag bellows, one for each mild and extreme wides.

I've just bought one of these, an upgrade from my Intrepid. Look forward to seeing what you do with it.

josh, at 11:55, one point with your discussion of lenses, a TELEPHOTO in LF isn't just a Long lens, it has a special meaning in LF, for field cameras (like the chamonix F2), or press cameras(linhof Technika), this means the lens infinity focusses at LESS than focal length!, so cameras like yours have enough focus track to focus it ( not all of it taken up to get to infinity point) - or you don't have to get the "diving board" to fit on the end to allow infinity distance.

Thanks for your detailed and thoughtful review, I’m considering this camera so your experiences are very useful. You might like to try a Paramo dark cloth if you’re not happy with the tightness of the BTZS. I love mine on Linhof Technika and Speed Graphic, will work equally on your Chamonix.

also Josh, at 9:12 you forgot one feature of the ground glass frame, those tabs have another purpose, as Graflok bars (chamonix version of them) to hold roll film holders, the Lomograflok polaroid back, as well as other accessories, the tabs lock these tight to the felt on the Ground Glass frame. ( the GG is on a hinged spring, you press the springs on the center of the frame, and push up, the hooks let go the pivot on the camera side, and the glass is off, so you can add these "graflok" accessories). PS: the frame the gg is on, that goes down to the base, is called a 'format frame', the gg frame is the bit you rotated to change landscape to portrait orientation of the film holders.

I'm trying to decide between the Chamonix 45F-2 and a Shen Hao 4x5. Did you consider a Shen Hao or any other camera instead of the Chamonix? Thanks
