This man teaches me something every time I spend my time with his videos....Thank you sir! Stay alive and kicking for as long as you can.... You are respected and admired.....You could get payed doing this kind of work in a school of some kind but you're teaching dummies like me for free.....Something to admire about that.

Nice to see the progression of the job, not just the individual tasks.

    Great getter done.

That's my favorite kind of work. Straightening out a mangled, twisted crash incident into something useable again. That hydraulic press is a beauty. One of these days I'm gonna have to build me something like it. I love the the size of the table and the clearance you have to be able to manipulate around the tower struts. Sweet.

All to often we see polished youtube videos where it appears the solution worked off the bat as they edit out the failure and the work that went into engineering solutions to get to the final stage. Well Done.

Keith, I continue to be amazed at how much shop/machining talent that you have. Good to see The Shop Master working, very impressive results.
At 6:10, when I had a similar project, my friends/coworkers would say "you don't have enough lead in your ass for that", and they were usually right!
At 38:42 the carpentry terminology is, "boss it's within an eighth of an inch"...as the boss walks around the corner of the house he hollers, "nail it, you can't see it on a fast horse!"..... probably need to keep that trade secret to myself so future generations can continue to do sloppy work...lol!
    Thanks for the video!

I have done some work with hydraulic presses under a heavy load, and I am glad to see you work with such care around it. General caution, (not for you necessarily but the general audience), a hydraulic leak, under pressure, is very flammable...make sure your fittings and hoses are in good shape...especially if you have to put heat on the item. A hand pump hydraulic jack press isn't the type of press I am talking about.

Keith, you should make a sleeve to fit over the end of the ram on your press, so that it would have a radius on end to fit over the bar on your straitening jig. That way you wouldn't have to worry about ram end slipping off jig bar under pressure when trying to straighten the shaft. Just a thought!

Most excellent video.. I also liked the Abom shot... :-) The shaft finally moving was expected and with your press it was pretty dramatic.. It's amazing what you do to get stuff straight.. Thoroughly enjoyed the straightening fixtures.. I'm interested in seeing how well you can straighten the prop shaft.. IME something bent that bad work hardens at the bend and you not get it straight without creating an S.. I'm sure if anyone can do it.. You'd be at the top of the list.
