All New Potteries Museum Spitfire Display - (And checking out an abandoned pub) Life Movie

The Supermarine Spitfire displayed in Hanley Museum & Art Gallery (RW338) has been here since I was a kid, I've never not known it to be in Hanley. I know this particular plane never saw battle but even so, what a machine it truly is, the spitfire, is possibly the most iconic plane there ever was, or ever will be.
That, along side the Hawker Hurricane won the Battle of Britain. If you've never seen or heard a Rolls Royce Merlin engine, search for it on TH-cam, as its breathtaking..
This particular model, built in Castle Bromwich, May 1945, is a MK XVI (16) and has clipped wings and a detuned engine for low altitude.
It last flew in 1952 before being donated to Stoke on Trent Museum in 1972 in honour of Reginald Mitchell..

It’s a shame so much is closed off, even when “fully open” so much is closed. All they’ve got open is a small gallery and the spitfire. But then I guess that’s what I went to see. Much better location than where it sat before. Thanks mate
