at 6:08 I explain that I downloaded the image without clicking "transparent background" I wanted to show you the difference. the second label I added was one I had already downloaded where I DID click the option of "transparent background" I am pretty sure (not 100% though) that the transparent background is for paid Canva users. I wanted to show how to get around that white box if you don't want to pay the yearly fee for Canva. I have since learned though, that if you use a "circle sticker" template, you don't have the white box at all to worry about.
Hi, Just a quick tip! If you’re designing the label in Canva, you can use the Canva Label Sheets app to export and print your design directly onto any label sheet of your choice. Simply select the brand and template code, and it will be ready to go-no manual adjustments needed.
you know I think someone shared that with me a couple of years ago...I think I remember trying it and then it not working and then giving up - but honestly I don't remember for sure. thanks for the reminder that that is a thing! I will look into it again 🤗
omg I have printing stickers for years and was about to give up due to alignment errors and not utilising my design space but i've just learnt some useful knowledge that will help me massively! thank you for this great video!!
I can make more sense out of what you say, then what the tech guy from HP has to say! I've spent time on the phone for hours. He speaks tech and I speak Mom, so it doesn't go well. I've just atruggled through. In general I just use the Miastro label maker. I go for clean lines and no pictures look. Especially with my skin care. Now my soaps are all printed on clear labels, no fuss. Where I'd like to branch out is my regular candle line. That'd be awesome to have pictures on those. My Luxury line doesn't have labels at all! By the way all 36 jars I made using your body butter recipe are gone, gone, gone. Gotta make more tomarrow! Thank you. I went from not having a true Body Butter in my product line (I've always had a emulsified version of BB), to selling out of it, like in 5 days. I was satisfied. My first product I've done after reopening at the market. I'm not dealing with the website right now. Busy making product. Jill
Hi Jill!! I was thinking about you this weekend, wondering if you were so busy making now that your studio is up and running! I'm so happy that the butter worked out for you! That makes me feel so good! I know you must be a really good formulator and for you to approve one of mine means a lot. I just started my candle line!!! Wish me luck hehe, of course I am going to take you all along for the ride with me. I'm already trying to think of what kind of labels I want on them. I hope you have a wonderful last part of your weekend and a great week ahead!
Thanks Candie!! I use a xerox phaser 6510. It is a pretty good one other than the blues and greens are so off - but this might have something to do with the generic toner I use LOL. Otherwise it is a great printer.
Hey Sue! 💖💖I have actually thought about doing a live - mostly for Soapmaker 3 help. Do you have any thoughts on a Live topic? I've also recently thought of doing a "making" live where I make something. What do you think? Did you have something in mind? I'm kind of worried no one will show up LOL
I think it would be great to see you make something live with some chitchat and some Q & A. I think your subscribers would love to see you live and it would be an even greater way to connect. 💗

This was SO helpful! I finally created a logo for my small business and now need to design labels for my wax melts. Do you think I should keep it very simple at first and just design one label and just change out the scent name before printing? Is there a big difference cost-wise printing at home vs ordering them?
Hi Carrie! Congrats on getting your logo finished! That is a big step! So for your labels - I would say take a look at your "brand" (don't you hate it when people say that?!? - I do LOL) When I first started I tried different things with my label style. My husband thought I should go more simplistic and minimal in design. I tried that, brown or white label with black wording and all that....I hated it! I am one that loves colors and I love finding pictures to put on my labels. So that is what I do. I leave the core design and just change the name and ingredients and of course the picture This does increase your costs of printing. As far as ordering them already printed - I never thought this was worth the cost as I change my scents and ingredients too often. If your ingredients and scents stay the same it may be more cost effective to have them printed. I honestly don't know. Good Luck - More Canva Videos are coming your way!!💗
Hi Tammy thank you for the video. Very very helpful to me!! I have a question not related to labels though: which program do you use to manage your production. Thank you so much!
Ahmmm... do what now? LOL. I'm gonna have to watch that oh I don't know, 100 times! I know nothing about labels. I went to On Line Labels and said, "ok print my labels" but yeah, it didn't work. I rarely work with any computer programs. I know how to turn on my computer and get to YT anddd... that's about it. But you truly are a fantastic instructor! I think I'll figure it out by watching both videos! Thank you so much! Do you think you could do a video on the difference between mica's, dye's and lakes ( I don't even know what the heck they mean by using "lakes")? Or have you done one already and I missed it your collection of video's. Thank you so much, Tammy! You're the bomb diggity in my book! xoxoxox
😂😂😂 Oh my!! You are so funny, always cracking me up. I have not done a video on the difference on those colors but certainly could!! thanks for the idea! 💖💖💖
Yes! There is a template for circle sticker! You don't have to add the circle element (unless you just want it!). You either just type it into the search bar or go to print products, and under popular is circle sticker. I use it all the time!
OH MY GOSH!!!WHAT?!?!?! I had no idea! hahaha - You have seriously just changed my world!!!!😃😃😃 Thanks for letting me know this -- I'm sitting here just giddy right now 😂
I do use a laser printer - I print way too much for inkjet. Those cartages would have to be replaced way too often LOL - as it is my toner is only lasting about 6 months before I have to change them out.
Online labels is like Avery - you have to buy their labels to use the maestro design tools and to print. It makes sense in a way, to be able to print on a shape they have to have the design area dialed in exactly to know where to print (does that make sense LOL)
Hi! Online labels is where you buy the labels from and then maestro is their editing website. You can only create labels you have purchased from them. You get a year or so free access to the website if you buy the labels from Online labels. I am always buying from them so I always have free access to Maestro Label Design. I just don't like it though. I find I can create my labels in Canva so much easier and better. They have an amazing library of images and graphics to use and I just find the navigation of creating labels easier. I also feel my labels are a bit more professional with Canva. Maestro reminds me of Avery, I find both pretty basic. But I haven't played around in either for several years so they may be better now.
Thank you. Very informative. Just received my sample labels from online.
Wonderful! Let me know if you need anything as far as tutorials! 😃

How do i use the circle template for a 1.4 inch circle label?
Do you use online label sticker paper instead of the labels?
I use online labels for most all of my labels - full sheets to circles and squares 🤗
Are you using a laser printer? I only have an inkjet.
I do use a laser printer - I print way too much for inkjet. Those cartages would have to be replaced way too often LOL - as it is my toner is only lasting about 6 months before I have to change them out.
