      What annoys me is that all of MM's fanclub rant about the royal family covering things up, portray them as liars, racists, and generally not to be trusted, and then go and believe every word of a woman that has came out of Hollywood. Hollywood covers up so much evil behaviour, and Hollywood celebrities all cover up for each other to make sure they stay loved and relevant, all while trying to portray themselves as so grounded and relatable. That's why MM's Hollywood friends defend her, because if she looks bad (and her true narcissism is revealed to the world) then they do too. The royal family has existed long before Hollywood celebrities and I'm sure will exist long after them; they don't need to try so hard to stay relevant. People like Patrick Adams regurgitating the same old insults to do with the monarchy being an outdated, archaic institution that has lost it's relevance only do so because they want to replace the monarchy and want people to look up to them as the leading figures of society instead. Celebrities are self-serving, whereas the royal family serves the people. I would trust our royal family over a single word that comes out of Hollywood. Even if you don't like the royal family, you have to admit Hollywood are just as bad, if not worse.

      Honestly, I think Meghan held such high esteem for herself that she thought she was royalty (odd, since she’s an actress who is really only famous for one show) and thought she could break years of tradition and get away with that.
      Tradition might be difficult occasionally, but it also exists for a reason in every culture and those who enter a new one and flip tables will not be warmly welcomed. Let alone, worshiped and praised, as I believe she desired.

    I'm an American, born and raised. I admire Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth for many reasons. It is really interesting to me when you compare and contrast Her Majesty with "celebrities" such as MM. MM talks about women's rights, women "using their voices", HMQE actually uses her voice. MM talks about helping diverse groups, HMQE actually takes action and helps diverse groups, MM talks about work in service, HMQE serves every day and has served every day for 70 years. HMQE is an excellent role model. She goes about her business quietly, honorably, dutifully and honestly. MM makes sure and announces whenever she donates money or time, and doesnt hesitate to offer her opinion on any news of the day. HMQE uses her voice in a thoughtful, measured and powerful way. MM is a word salad, verbal diarrhea, loose cannon spewing machine. I greatly admire HMQE, whereas MM is the type of person to be avoided and ignored.

Clearly your rude attacks are protecting your own fragile egos under the guise of silencing those mean, jealous, racist, anti-American, misogynist bullies.( those tweets of misogynistic messages yesterday about menopause were disgusting) It is much easier for you and cult Sussex to call someone a racist and hopefully shame and intimidate into silence the person with whom you are in a disagreement than to formulate an intelligent counterargument on the basis of logical reasoning and credible evidence.Along with your accusation of racism, you desperate souls will spew your objection by means of every rhetorical device they can think in lieu of what they know they need most: a thoughtful and convincing response.And here’s a message to you and the followers of the Sussex squad, the strategy of name calling was very popular and at the beginning it was very successful for quite some time, but it is no longer as effective as it once was. People( the people outside your Sussex bubble of isolation) are no longer as intimidated by the charge of being a racist as they were only a few years ago. Most people have now had the opportunity to see how the charge of racism has been recklessly launched in so many patently absurd situations that it no longer carries the force that it once did. The strategy has been overused, and thankfully - at least for most of the world outside your Sussex isolated bubble are people who are concerned about the truth - it is now backfiring.After the attacks of the President of Ukraine while Russia was attempting a take over the world see right through the Sussex cult squad. Then the attacks on Prince William accusing him of being racist with no evidence and refusing logical evidence he said nothing racist then dismissing it as a cover up.

    Our Monarchy will survive as it has done for a thousand years. Our Queen has always stood by us - look at her sitting alone at her husband's funeral with the same number of mourners that we were allowed to have during the pandemic, our Prime Minister offered to bend the rules for a full State Funeral for Prince Philip and The Queen refused.
    The reason the treacherous duo are trying to bring down the Monarchy is because they were prevented from cashing in and trying to modernise an already modernised family.
    There are some amongst us who want us to have an elected Head of State but the majority wish to retain a Monarchy. A Monarchy brings stability to a country and we don't have to look far across the pond to see how divisive a President can be.

    • @snsmystic
      @snsmystic 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I'm politically neutral but when I see the sentence of a "divisive" president in the US, I am 99.9% certain that it's because that's what the media has told us repeatedly. Media in the US is disproportionately liberal/left, including NPR, and so are the big techs and their censorship and selection of what gets seen- YT, FB, Twitter, google etc, and so are "small" media like Vox, etc.
      And here the US media and corporations love "woke" culture which MM very much endorses and monetizes from. The US media loves MM, the same way they jump into defending Amber Heard and dropped Johnny Depp with no evidence (when I watched the deposition of AH I knew she was lying, and this was like 2 years before the recent court case that Depp won against her), and the guy who framed others for hate crime. So the same media that continues to lie to push their agenda is the only thing that is divisive, and that divisiveness is further flamed by celebrities that believe and promote the media's lie.
      For instance, the left in the US claim to hate the rich and corporations and for all their talk about fighting for the people, if you actually look at donations for each politician a large majority of democrat/left donors are big name individuals in all professions including celebrities & media, big corporations and banks so Democrats raise way more money. On the other hand you'll find average Americans donating to Republicans/conservatives rather than the corporations and celebrities.
      Hopefully the following the money can give you perspective of who is being truthful and who has more to gain from biased and at times opinion passed on as "news".

    If you told me five years ago I would have began feeling sympathy for the British monarchy, I would been laughing at the concept calling you absolutely mad. When I was studying in the UK, I did ask people why they have it and many answers ranged between tourism to a necessary evil. You video does provide a great context on how the Queen is above public opinion which yes it can be persuaded by politicians and celebrities. One might argue the Queen herself can change her mind but the office she holds has to be the same one her father's and his father before him. While the monarchy isn't perfect, that aspect of stability I believe does ground a person where it might justify as to how Elizabeth stays the same when you compare monarchies in history where there was an influence either by the papacy or their selfish whims.

      Henry VIII was a tyrant who (along with many of his successors) used the full force of the state to genocidally persecute and execute Lollards, Catholics, and other reasonable individuals who dissented from his secular religion. The greatest extent of papal influence on England in his day was refusing to annul his valid marriage to his incredible wife, Catherine of Aragon, who is remembered and honored by Englishmen to this day. And he got what he wanted anyway, condemning her to die of illness, under house arrest in impoverished conditions, and going on to murder even more women. The monarchy is only as good as the person occupying the office. You say the office remains the same, but that's not true. The nature of the office fluctuates depending on all sorts of political conditions, especially the personality of the occupant. The modern British monarchy is so benign precisely because it is not the same office as existed in the 16th century; nor was that the same office as existed in the 12th century; nor was that the same office as existed before the Norman conquest. Happily, more has changed than has persisted.

    • @KateLJ1799
      @KateLJ1799 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@ToxicallyMasculinelol Even though he was terrible in so many ways, I don't think Henry VIII was the worst towards Catholics. I mean, he did still persecute them of course (such as executing St Thomas More and other disobedient faithful Catholics for treason), but he still loved the Catholic faith itself even after his split from Rome (Pope Leo X titled him "Defender of the Faith" in the 1520s pre-reformation because of how vocally and strongly he defended the Catholic faith across Europe, which is ironically a title the subsequent protestant English/British monarchs kept and still have, despite its roots in the papacy). He didn't want much to change religion-wise, just basic things - he only converted officially so he could annul his marriage. A few years afterwards, he executed his minister Thomas Cromwell because he was changing too much of the English church by getting rid of Catholic influence and traditions and replacing them with Protestant influences and practices. It was mostly his children, Edward VI and Elizabeth I, who largely persecuted and slaughtered Catholics and were a lot more radical, which many people don't realise because Edward is relatively unknown and Elizabeth is known as one of the greatest English monarchs with one of the greatest reigns after a period of so much instability. People only focus on Elizabeth's initial Religious Settlement, after Henry's incompetence and Mary I's burning and execution of protestants. As usual, history is written by the winners (Protestants), so now we tend to only focus on the wrongdoings and failures of Mary, such as by coining "Bloody Mary" even though plenty other monarchs' reigns were just as brutal and bloody as her's. I still don't like Henry VIII though lol. As much as I love our current royal family, breaking with the Catholic Church was the worst thing to ever happen to the UK in my opinion (even though it is probably an unpopular one). The best and most underrated Tudor monarch was and is Henry VII by far. He was so intelligent, pious, and interesting. His consort, Elizabeth of York, was an incredible woman like Catherine of Aragon. Anyway I'm digressing. I wonder how our current monarchy will be viewed in the future depending on how things change presently and who becomes the "winner", so to speak.

    Dear Baggage Claim, how beautifully done, and how wise your words. As the 75 year old daughter of an American father and a mother who was an English war bride at the end of World War II, I know how my mother looked up to the Queen. She spoke of how King George VI and the Queen Mother stood steady during the bombing of London, refusing to leave the people without moral support. That seems to me to be needed more than ever in these times-a leader whose values don’t shift and change, a steady light that stays strong and lifts spirits. But more than that, like a ship navigating through rough waters, a capable captain at the helm to keep the ship afloat and moving forward. With all the turmoil in her own family and the world at large, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth has never wavered as that steady compass. I had tears in my eyes at the end of the video. Congratulations. The thing about a monarchy is that it's almost part of British DNA. Most of us feel the presence of the Monarch so deeply. It's in our bones. It connects us with the past and the future in a way that no presidency ever can. The Queen has not only been the monarch for all of my life, but for all of my parents' lives and for most of my grandparents' lives (even before they were married). To think that, when Queen Elizabeth II ascended to the throne, my father's parents (now both 20 years dead) were only 21 and 23 and now 70 years later on her Platinum Jubilee their youngest granddaughter is 22 and the same Queen is STILL on the thone makes me feel so connected to them. And it was the Queen's ancestors who overlooked the country for all of my ancestors, leading them through things like war and each difficulty that our country faced, and it will be her descendants overlooking my descendants. The monarch and consort raised British morale and kept the country together during the World Wars in a way that no president could have. In my opinion as a Brit, no presidency will ever be able to give that proud, goosebumps feeling. I think that's why the monarch was historically viewed as divinely chosen because it really does feel God-given and a presidency would take that away from us.

As you say it's in our DNA, it's our identity. The history of Kings & Queens in the UK goes back even further than 1066 (when most start counting), Harold who was killed fighting William the Conqueror was King Harold & further back there was Alfred & Ethelred and Canute, not forgetting Boudica, also a Queen.

You managed to elucidate the intrinsic difference between a non-partisan, apolitical Monarchy when compared to the self-serving behaviour of both politicians and worse still ill-educated celebrities who will do anything to keep their power and fame.

      @@kaiserita9202 Firstly she doesn't own the crowns ( there are more than one) the state does, secondly the crowns are a symbol of the institution of the Monarchy and thirdly the crowns weigh around 5 to 8 lbs, so wearing them for any thing more than a few seconds is a torture not a pleasure especially for a very small woman. In fact it is so difficult to wear them even when someone is young and fit that in the last couple of years our 96 year old Queen has stopped wearing a crown and instead has it sitting on a cushion next to her. So, yes as a matter of fact definitely closer to martyr than sybarite.

    I've felt ambivalent about the monarchy. I don't like the idea that certain people should be perceived as better than everyone else, as a representative of God, as I think the concept goes. But I've also always seen a value that i couldn't quite articulate to myself. You have crystallized it for me. She is a figure of balance when we are all too quick to choose a side.

    • @zoch9797
      @zoch9797 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Indeed.
      However, the issue is that a monarch is a title/office for life, and while it creates stability with a benevolent ruler, it creates unsurpassed chaos with a corrupt one.
      Constitutional Monarchies try to correct this, and so far they've been okay. The best thing going for them is that they don't have any legislative/executive powers.
      Term limits do the same in a Republic; being absolutely necessary because politicians actually DO wield legislative/executive powers.
      This also highlights the need for religion/mythology/folklore. They create a unified source for guidance and ethics, of culture and identity. The downside is that it is that there is no living embodiment that can say what one's hero would do in a present situation.
      In a constitutional monarchy, the downside is that a good monarch is not immortal, thus giving way to an inevitable corrupt one.

Another interesting point - politicians PM & MPs get expensive gold-plated health insurance/life policies & an extortionate pension for life after they have left Parliament! Even if they only served one term or even just one year - they all get it for life! People always bring up the "waste of money" argument against Monarchy - but politicians cost the country very much more than Monarchy does. Over 600+ politicians and they change every term - some more added getting those life term perks & some leave after the minimum time entitling them to get the life term perks! Serving politicians and retired or the ones that lost their seat - i.e. fired - out of work - they'll all get the gold plated pensions & life/health insurance - for LIFE!

    I love your videos, as always 💕 They are well researched and well presented. Definitely will listen to such educated opinions.
    It’s funny, because I recently had a discussion with my brother regarding this topic. I found that, as I got older I dislike the celebrity culture even more. When I do seek and consume the so called “entertainment news”, it would be interviews of actors, directors, comedians, etc, about their creative process. It would give me some inspiration and motivation for my own creative process, but I am just not interested in their personal life. But with celeb culture, it has gotten more and more ridiculous. Especially with how the social media has evolved these days. These celebs are trying to shove their audience with opinions, product placements, and a bunch of terrible life advice. And they could never be held accountable for all of those things they do.
    People often criticize and dismiss the relevance of the modern monarchy with their shallow understanding in history and sociology. As for me who actually study those subjects in college, I actually really think the modern monarchy is very relevant.
    Influencers has always exist since the beginning of time. Whether their status are confirmed by the religious belief, wealth, intelligent, beauty, or the number of their followers, they exist in every period of human history. The problem is, the mainstream celebs and social media influencers does not have the same accountability as the royals. True, there had been a bunch of terrible leaders and royals throughout the history, but their influence and authority stopped working when they don’t act according to the value leaders should have anymore.
    Also, the British Monarch has changed a lot since the world wars. The way they position themselves and operate in the modern world is good enough to make themselves relevant. They don’t make it all about them anymore, they put spotlight on issues and people in need while they act as the middleman.

    Rest in Peace dear Queen Elizabeth.
    For me, as a foreigner, the British Monarchy is the symbol of stoicism against any trouble. It was like that during the WW2, it is nowadays. And the fact that the Royal Family is not perfect and that they have their black sheep like prince Andrew or Harry and Meghan, or the disastrous marriage of Charles and Diana - all those problems are valuable as the Royal Family teach us how to overcome real trouble. Being stoic, being strong and methodic.
    The fact that they also ensure the whole nation is joint, is together, is amazing. This is truly needed in modern times - no matter the differences, the British People are together and are a nation.

    You failed to mention that Queen Elizabeth has reigned longer than any other monarch in history. She has never uttered a political word and so is seen as fairly representing every man, woman, and child in her country and the Commonwealth as well as leading the church of England.
    Prince Charles already has demonstrated that he cannot do the same. He will be a very controversial king. As delightful as William and his wife are, they also have political and controversial opinions which they voice.
    Furthermore, who becomes the next monarch is some kind of DNA “luck of the draw.“ Imagine if William had been born the second child and the UK faced the prospect of a King Harry with his first wife! Lol
    Well, not actually lol. Because it would be a tragedy, a travesty, and trash for the throne. No….there is a reason that monarchies around the world close up shop one-by-one and so few are left. Throughout history there have been many demented, deformed, retarded, and morally bankrupt sons and daughters who inherited thrones. As you can see after one year of President Biden, it can take less than a year for a country to be flushed down the toilet.
    This is a very interesting video which I sincerely suggest you invest the eight minutes to watch because it explains why a system - not only for a country but for businesses and nonprofits and sports teams, etc. - find the BEST person to run it rather than rule by inheritance or, as we still have in many places, a tribal leader system. This video is called “why are some countries poor and some countries rich.”

      I too see William (and Kate) and Charles being more left/liberal, using US terms, in their social views and being heavily influenced by the media of what it means to represent rather than grounded in core values.
      But alas, it seems to be that way of the world.

    Because the Crown is a constitutional limited monarchy, it allowed the people to become wealthy and free, compared to an absolute monarchy. I always recommend looking into the work of Sir John Fortescue, he had to flee and lived in France for a while in the 15th century, and he saw the difference between the two kinds of monarchs. In an absolute monarchy, the king can do whatever he wants to the people, constantly raise taxes for whatever they want, destroy their property and the people have no recourse. In a limited monarchy, they have checks in the ability to tax and the people have the right of redress, so if there monarch destroys your property you can sue them and get the value. That encourages wealth and business, because the monarch can't just take what you've saved and earned. There's a lot of people who sort of drag on Magna Carta now, but it really was a revolutionary document that allowed the British people to become free and prosperous, compared with other European countries at the time, and continued to do so long after it was created.

      Was it the monarchy or democracy that allowed people to become wealthy and free? I say democracy.

    • @LizRealGirlBeauty
      @LizRealGirlBeauty 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ssssss2462 except didn't exist in that time, and actual democracies fall apart very quickly. The word is thrown around like it means "hey you get to vote," but really what the US has is a constitutional republic. The adage is "democracy is two wolves and a sheep voting for what's for dinner." It's tyranny of the majority. In a republic individual rights are protected and can't be removed unless the individual takes away someone else's rights (commits a crime against someone else). In a democracy 51% could vote to make a state religion, or to take away rights or property of the 49%. That's not freedom.

      This is actually a realy interesting Comment because the richest Countries in the World when we go by GDP are Luxembourg and Lichtenstein who both have a Constitutional monarchy

    • @LizRealGirlBeauty
      @LizRealGirlBeauty 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @ssssss2462 in a democracy your wealth and property can be taken if the majority decide to do so.
      A constitution that protects the individual's rights from the whims of others, be them a monarch or the majority, allows wealth and freedom to flourish.
      The US is not a democracy; it is a constitutional republic, where you have a representative legislature and the rights of individuals is codified in law.
      And notice the person I referenced, who lived in the 15th century. What you think of as modern "democracy" did not exist. And in 1215 when Magna Carta was signed there was still serfdom. So how would there be prosperity having an effect on the life of Sir John if there was no "democracy" as you think of it?

    I have dual Australian/Canadian Citizenship, and I'm here to say - we need the Queen. The monarchy has been downplayed and sidetracked in both countries for a long time, but it is now starting to matter more. I think this is for two reasons. The first is, we are in a period of tremendous instability and if you look at our politicians (and not just in CAN/AUZ), they are largely garbage. Selfish, no concept of public service, no respect for the law or our customs and culture. The Queen is the EXACT opposite of those things. She is the living embodiment of tradition, of public service and of duty. She is the last slender link we have to a past where we could be PROUD of our countries and our governments, even if we hadn't voted for them personally.
    The second is that the monarchy is a vital link between the English Speaking countries - Australia, Canada, New Zealand and the UK. As America visibly shakes and declines, we need to come together, stand together and work together - we need #CANZUK now! The fact that all these countries have the same head of state, the same language, similar histories, similar levels of education and health care, etc. make it a lot easier for us to form a block.
    Only when the Queen passes away will we realize how much she mattered, quietly doing her duty, day after day, year after year, representing us to ourselves and the world, carrying out the ceremonies and customs that underpin and form a foundation for so much.

    Thank you. Very well done. I’ve been thinking and reading about the founding fathers lately. It is utterly contemptible the way the country is being run. God bless the Queen for her continuous show of strength and self control. She is an inspiration to me.

    The people bow down to the government, the government bows down to the monarchy and the monarchy bow down to the people. They are our security and keep stability.. Im genuinely scared of the idea of not having a Monarchy.

    • @kaiserita9202

      Im not sure chief, under what conditions does the monarchy "bow down" to the people, I was under the impression that the legitimacy of the crown derived from some sort of godly intervention, which i guess is the only thing that can justify a person being born with an innate position of wealth and power. Maybe you mean that they are under scruitiny by the civil society? But the monarchy doesn't seem to have all that much influence over government, to me they mostly seem a tool of propaganda to build and mantain an artificial sense of continuity with the past.

      @@kaiserita9202 They serve the people; They bring in a minimum of £19 million to the UK economy each year. They have many charities, all successful. Looknat the Queen during lock down, attended her husbands funeral on her own and barely saw him in his last days at the hospital because the same restrictions that are applied to the public apply to the RF as well. In the 1900s there was a water restriction and people were told they could only have small baths and the king at the time, the Queens grandfather followed this rule too... there are many examples of this, unlike most rich people or celebrities the BRF do not view themselves as above the people. The relationships with foreign leaders and the BRF are so strong, they are admired and respected which is like a security for our country in a way. I'm probably rambling now but there's so much they do for us

    it's absolutely ok to question the existence of the monarchy and nobility in general. however the dedication and hard work of the queen is beyond any debate, even if you are a republican. you can despise the system for sure, but you cannot deny the deep dedication she repesents on a personal level. for me it is fair enough to respect her regardless of the blood-sucker monarchical system. she gave her life to the job.

    GSTQ and the BRITISH MONARCHY 🇬🇧 And every family has problematic individuals. In recent History, Prince Andrew's shocking behaviour has brought utter shame and embarrassment , and Fergie was never in her place in the Royal family. Then there's NARC-LE ; that woman has brought nothing but pain conflict and chaos to both her own and the BRF. Sickening. And now she has poisoned Harry who has become as insufferable as she is. Their children are next . I feel so sorry for those kids because they will be messed-up for life.
