- CT components are the important pieces of a CT scanner including:
The x-ray tube,
Pre-patient Bowtie Filter,
X-ray collimator,
High Voltage power supply,
Heat exchanger,
CT detector,
Data Acquisition system,
Slip Ring
Table,
Gantry Covers,
Gantry Controls,
Gantry Display,
System cabinet,
Liquid Tube Cooling,
Reconstruction Computer
Some of the key concepts covered in this video are the:
CT Components

CT 's are piece of art machines that engineers made. As an engineering student, i researched about the bowtie filter and even for this small peace they did tremendously deep engineering r&d effort behind that.
Thanks Highway Gamer, agreed all parts are engineered well to be stable, robust and for most help with image quality.
wow, you are too under rated
Thanks for saying so, you can spread the Rad love to others you know in the field.
i love it! it helped me with my radiology class!
Glad it helped!
What makes the scanning ring spin? There is no central axis, so where is the force (motors) to make it spin this fast?
In standard designs a motor mounted to the stationary side is hooked to the rotating side of the gantry by a timing belt
Some units have a linear motor, the whole spinning part is actually the motor. Also some units transfer the collected data from the das to the stationary part of the gantry with leds instead of slip rings.
It's done with the help of slip ring technology ❤😊
Colon or large intestine ulcers can be seen in ct scan?
litfl.com/abdominal-ct-peptic-ulcer-disease/ , the ulcers can be indirectly visualized and it is good for looking for perforation
Thanks for explaining, thumbs up!
No one showed real x ray tube inside ct can you share ?
good vid. weird, but good. I can't decide whether its good in a weird way or weird in a good way.
Thanks I’ll take either one
What kind of detectors does it have?
See our video on CT detectors
What if you are allergic to Isouve ??
Where can I get Info re Isouve. I am very allergic??
had to look this up. just had one done an hour ago, and man it was weird.
Thank you!
👍✔️
Welcome! Thanks for sharing 😊
You should really remove the music
Thanks for your suggestion 4k
it would have been great to actually see the components inside without all text layovers blocking it. Maybe next time, just let us peer and ogle it's guts
Sure I’ll keep that in mind
"...What we call..." and "...what's called..."? Those are the official terms are they not? So why all this "what we call..."? Just use the terms directly!
Thanks for the feedback HelloKittyFanMan
Yes, for future reference, @@HowRadiologyWorks. You're welcome.
What do you think you would say as your answer to my curious question?
wtf is that music.. thanks anyway.
Thanks Nabi for watching the video. That is some free music, sorry it isn’t your favorite
