    This reminds me back when I found this thing at a thrift store for $3!
    I would say I miss the badass-ified toy box, but I can’t, since I still have the mother-trucker!
    This video does inspire me to dig it back up and give it some tlc of my own, so thanks

    Wow! I can't believe what a difference all the work made. I need to start doing this to my vehicles and figures. Thank you for this video! Now that I see what the end result looks like, I can't wait to do this to my G.I Joe vehicles! It's going to make them look fantastic.

    Use future floor polish on the windows they will become like new , dip the glass cover up so dust don’t land on it

      Thanks brother, did you pick up that tip from martys matchbox makeovers? that's where I first learned about it.

      I’ve know about it for some time. It’s a model building technique from the late 80’s

    To remove sticker residue, try using goo-gone. It is designed to desolve the glue residue without harming the plastic.

    Im starting to do some restorations also and I notice a lot of discoloration under the decals once they're removed. Is there anything you'd recommend to blend that in? I've hit them with the Novus but they're still noticeable.

      Nah, best thing you can do it replace the stickers over the original placement as far as I know.

    You definitely did a great job restoring the A.P.C. Cobra stickers are what I have used on a couple of my vintage G.I . Joe vehicles. I also have subbed to your channel.

      +Jason Luttrull Awesome, its one of my favorite GI JOE vehicles, it also floats which is cool and holds a ton of figures. Are you going to buy new one or a fixer upper like mine? They made a few, this is the 1983 version but they also made a black one(night force)and one that was all green with a green top too.

    • @jasonluttrull5953
      @jasonluttrull5953 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +TheSkullReviews I'll probably buy a fixer upper.

      Its the most cost effective route as well as the most fun, I got this one for about 40 dollars, ones in the shape this is in now go for 100+

    All my stickers developed bubbling from being stored for years in a non-climate controlled attic in the midwest. I think summer heat was most responsible for the bubbling. I really don't want to invest completely replacing every sticker in inventory. So I tolerate them for now.

    • @TheSkullReviews
      @TheSkullReviews  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah I don't blame you, I only did it cause I wanted to restore the whole thing and enjoy the project.

    • @brett8481
      @brett8481 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Indeed. The thought of cleaning off old stickers and residue, then carefully applying repros to probably 30 vehicles and play sets is just overwhelming. But your final results are impressive. Once I finish investing in the holes in my vehicle collection for 1984 to 1986, maybe I might invest in doing a vehicle every few weeks over the course of several years.

      Sounds like a plan, the point is to enjoy the hobby, not turn it into a choir and your plan seems to keep that in mind. Thanks for watching BTW:)

    why would you ever use repro stickers on an original piece. One reason I would be afraid to buy these days.

    • @TheSkullReviews
      @TheSkullReviews  8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      +melton wilson To restore it for display and review, I would say I added value to the piece, but I'm not doing this for profit, its for my personal collection, its better than having cruddy bubbled up stickers IMO.
