    Amazing video lesson. Thank you so much for this video. This fixed my landing problem keeping the nose aligned with the runway by using reference points on the cowling. I went on my first solo yesterday thanks to this🙏 Ty!

    Riding motorcycles for years you push with the right hand and pull with the left to turn left.
    That being the opposite (pushing with the left foot and pulling with the right) when steering a plane to the left on taxi took some getting use to.

    I forgot how to land a plane after about 6 weeks of not flying. I was losing centerline and the harder I tried the worse I got. At the time, my mindset was - once the mains touch, put the nose down for more stability and it still felt like I was going to tip the plane over if I forced centerline more - then hitting the brakes right after touchdown was just moving from "bad" to "very bad".     I swerved left on my first takeoff and it freaked me out, have to get back to the airport and get the hang of it.

    I knew and had no issue with rudder control during take off, but is there anything wrong with banking a bit to right with aileron instead of right rudder... maybe little bit of both ? To me, rudder at slow airspeed causing a slip is no better than banking a bit for coordinated one. What's the exact breakdown to say RUDDER ?

    I do not see anything for the lapsed pilot wanting to get back. In my case, I have not flown in over 6 years because of complications from knee replacement surgery. I have a CP-ASEL-IA with over 1000 hours - many as a mission pilot with the CAP. The biggest problem is that I now have a prosthetic left leg - above knee amputation. My family doctor had been an AME and is of the opinion that my health is now more than good enough for a 2nd class medical. The chief flight instructor a KMQS (Chester County, PA) thinks I would be wasting my time to try to get back in the air. The only problem I can see is with the toe brakes. What do you guys think? I really miss flying - particularly taking the CAP cadets up for their first flight.

      +mike klaene, I suggest finding a current and good AME that is willing to work with you and might be able to suggest a good flight instructor. The FAA has issued SODA (Statement of Demonstrated Ability) for amputees, but I'm not sure what the parameters or process is.

    How does all this translate to a taildragger, when you cannot see the center line, on the start of the take off run, or after the tail settles on touchdown? Does UND address any conventional gear training?

    The G.A. industry continues to leave out the all powerful ailerons (2 to 4 times the surface area of the rudder and HORIZONTAL to the changing relative wind) and directional control on the runway. Misuse of the ailerons, aggravates an already dire directional control issue. Do not drive like a car when recovering from skids.
    Maintain ailerons PROPORTIONALY and opposite the needed rudder.
