Thank you and good to know you can get it in Hobby Lobby, here in the UK we have ‘Hobby Craft’ 😊 Hopefully this gave you a good insight. Question is will you try it? ❤️
Lots of fun additions to furniture, and i could see making some frames or bases and incorporating it with some of felted creations, maybe carved horns or something, cute wooden moths, bunch of ideas 💖
So much fun to watch. Thank you for all of the great tests. Gives us loads of information to help with our craft art decisions. So many ideas generated but you asked about the little bird. I think it would be cool to design a tree out of the clay (flat on one side) with lots of branches and add all kinds of different birds in shapes and sizes. You could wrap it up around the top of a door. Could be an actual front door of a home or as a fairy cottage door. Thank you again.
Thank you, not stupid at all, it’s pretty old, was my husband’s grandma’s, I sanded it down as it was darker and was going to paint it but decided it’s just lovely the way it is, you’d hate it if I painted it wouldn’t you? 🙈 Thanks 😊
Oooo fab well I wish you luck with your project, definitely a product to try, you can use wood glue or strong white glue alongside this for you ideas if need be ❤️😊 thanks
Ever since I saw this being announced by DAS on Instagram (I even tagged you:)) I’ve been looking forward to watching a video of yours! Thank you so much for the feedback on this new clay! Unfortunately I cannot find it on Amazon Spain yet (where I purchase from).
As far as the piece that broke off, maybe having a little amount of wood glue/clay/water mixture to use as slip to attach the pieces together before they dry will work. If a piece breaks off after it’s dry, wood glue should do nicely as a fixative.
Yes wood glue or the DAS white glue works great at fixing it back together, I just made this piece to show you that it’s better for form/mold/sculpt the clay into a shape rather than attach it together with the score and slip method that I show in my regular air dry clay videos, so I wouldn’t therefore make a slab pot from DAS wood as the joints are not as strong, thank you, have you tried this clay yet? ❤️😊
New product and just released here in the UK, I’ve seen it’s been available in the US too a little while. Glad you enjoyed and thank you for being a fan, much appreciated 😁❤️
@@RedRockingBird I managed to get hold of some from Hobbycraft and had a play today. Very different from the normal clay, found it a bit drier and the smell a bit odd, but once I got used to it thought it was good. Had a go at the little bird you shown, so hopefully I'll be able to paint it in a few days 🐦
@@MrsKateT wonderful, I’m sure once it’s completely dry you’ll love how robust it is, then knowing how it behaved you can hopefully do more projects to its strengths, enjoy and thank you for sharing your thoughts 😊❤️
Thank you! I’ve never seen any but I’ve heard about it. Say I use it in a mould to apply to frame while wet( I have withe regular air dry clay) will it crack and fall off? Or am I getting ahead of your instructions 😂? I absolutely love your pieces but that bird has my heart. 💜. The whale is pretty fantastic too. 😊❤
Hi Margaret, oh you’re just the BEST. I would mould the clay, leaving it to dry on the frame so that it dries in the right shape, then once fully dried I would add some white glue, like in the video and then let it dry, I hope that helps and you agree. So far I have not had this clay crack on me, so it’s a real winner from that point of view. I’m going to have to make more of the little birds and every time I make something my mind always veers towards birds 🐦🙈😂😆❤️ thank you

Very informative video! This looks a very interesting product. I've used something years ago from the company that makes Hearty clay. The wood chips were too big and the finished project didn't look nice. This, however, looks very promising. Do you know when this will be available in the UK?
Thank you. As always DAS will have put so much good research and development into this product and it shows, hobbycraft now stocking it. Will you be getting some? 😊
@RedRockingBird I've used all the 3 colour clays from Das at the moment, so yes I'll definitely be having a go at the Das Wood.
