    So much fun to watch. Thank you for all of the great tests. Gives us loads of information to help with our craft art decisions. So many ideas generated but you asked about the little bird. I think it would be cool to design a tree out of the clay (flat on one side) with lots of branches and add all kinds of different birds in shapes and sizes. You could wrap it up around the top of a door. Could be an actual front door of a home or as a fairy cottage door. Thank you again.

    As far as the piece that broke off, maybe having a little amount of wood glue/clay/water mixture to use as slip to attach the pieces together before they dry will work. If a piece breaks off after it’s dry, wood glue should do nicely as a fixative.

    • @RedRockingBird
      @RedRockingBird  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes wood glue or the DAS white glue works great at fixing it back together, I just made this piece to show you that it’s better for form/mold/sculpt the clay into a shape rather than attach it together with the score and slip method that I show in my regular air dry clay videos, so I wouldn’t therefore make a slab pot from DAS wood as the joints are not as strong, thank you, have you tried this clay yet? ❤️😊

    Thank you! I’ve never seen any but I’ve heard about it. Say I use it in a mould to apply to frame while wet( I have withe regular air dry clay) will it crack and fall off? • @RedRockingBird
      @RedRockingBird  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Hi Margaret, oh you’re just the BEST. I would mould the clay, leaving it to dry on the frame so that it dries in the right shape, then once fully dried I would add some white glue, like in the video and then let it dry, I hope that helps and you agree. So far I have not had this clay crack on me, so it’s a real winner from that point of view. I’m going to have to make more of the little birds and every time I make something my mind always veers towards birds 🐦🙈😂😆❤️ thank you

    I've commented below but I went out to try to purchase it and can't seem to find anyone that sells it here (USA). Didn't appear to be on Amazon. Can you provide a source please? Thank you.

      Someone on here commented that they had seen it in Hobby Lobby, do you have one of those stores near you? It’s a new product so just coming out here in the UK too. I googled it and found it in a US store I’d not heard of too, so in places other than Amazon 👍

      Thanks for the quick reply. I have a HobbyLobby less than 5 miles from home but it only currently has the DAS white, stone and terra cotta. I think I may have found a source though after some more hunting. Thank you again.

      Just got an email back from Dick Blick's - one of their buyers took a look at your video and they are taking the steps to put this product in their catalogue. It could take anything from a few weeks to several months but they encouraged me to keep checking back. I expect our local stores like Michaels Arts & Crafts, JoAnnes, and Hobby Lobby will provide it at some time too but all three are notorious for moving slow on new things.

    I wonder how good it would be to make a ventriloquist dummy out of

      Now that would be great fun, it is fairly robust and can be sealed to protect and make even stronger too. As you can see in video it is a bit different to work with than clay but I found it easy enough to adapt to, thanks for watching and best of luck, let me know if you try

    I had bought this in hopes to use it to make tiny clay birds. It is NOT useful for that. Attaching the wings isnt going to work and the cracking is too much for small pieces. Very disappointed. After watching your video i will be trying something else with it as I do now own it and dont want to waste it. I will probably never buy it again.

      It is quite different than air dry clay but I like it’s unique properties and the fact that it is light weight in comparison, but yes not for every project as it is wood fibres, I hope you enjoy what you next choose to create with it, thank you for watching and sharing your experiences with us 🦜

    Interesting, but I don’t see the benefits for me right now. I’ll stick to the traditional clay. Thank you for the video!
