Born and raised in MV from 1964. Went to Pinewood, Edgewood and Irondale. Bought my parents house in 1986 which was built in 1950. Bailed out of MV in 2002. Best place to live growing up, never locked a door, but things changed so we took our family up north on acreage to the country. Seen a ton of growth growing up from the 1970's. Would I ever go back, nope but not saying it's a bad place to live. Seeing this film just blows my mind that the home price is 315K when my parents bought the house for 10K and $500 for the plot of land.
Long Lake Road was where our house was. We lived on a private man-made lake. It was the best place a child could grow up. It was the best time of my life😢❤️
Love the video tours. I lived south of MV for 27 years, so I know the area well. Not mentioned in the video tour are the parks/trails surrounding MV like Rice Creek coordinator and Long Lake Regional Park. Another attraction not mentioned is the multi-plex cinema. You pretty much nailed the vibe. A detractor not explicitly mentioned in the video is the Mermaid but contributes to the dinge factor mentioned. The mall just to the north in Coon Rapids is convenient. As soon as I can return to MN, I will include MV on my shortlist. The least attractive aspect is the flatness of the terrain.

Grew up in Mounds View. Best place ever!!! That strip mall used to have Fashion Discovery and Angie's Pizza. Good times.
