I got admitted! I might end up going to Chapel Hill, so what would you recommend the first thing we should do to be prepared for Carolina and the community. I am mostly concerned how I can meet new friends especially during the pandemic where it is difficult to meet people face-to-face.
i met a lot of my friends through the instagram and facebook pages for my class (in your case, class of 2025 pages and such)! i know it can be intimidating to reach out to strangers, but remember that you’re all in the same boat and wanting to make friends :)) also see if you can get plugged in to a couple of organizations that interest you as soon as you can!

Thanks for posting. Im sorry you had to go home 😢 the comment about the shower pressure and temp was actually important. I have some questions 1) Is it true the beds can only go up to 55” which is like shoulder/neck height (e.g. it can’t go over the wall desk)? 2) Does the second desk also have a cork board too? 3) how long was your closet curtain? 4) do command strips stick to the wall ok? (For some reason they do not stick to the cinder block walls at UMD).
Hi! I'll try to answer the best that I can haha:
1. I think they can go above 55". I'm 5 feet tall and if I remember correctly, I could stand up straight while under the lofted bed with it was at the highest rung.
2. Both of the desks have a corkboard!
3. I can't remember :( I think maybe we got a 6 foot one? I would suggest getting a longer option since that would be easy to safety pin and make shorter, rather than having a curtain that runs short and looks awkward.
4. They stuck pretty well for me!

I’m gonna be an incoming freshman taking it all in this fall, and you’re gonna be a sophomore with the same state of mind. If you really think about it, literally all the underclassmen could be considered mental freshmen. Anywho that was a random thought of mine, but I’m excited to see what this year brings us!!!
a lot of us have been thinking about this! i was fortunate to be on campus for the spring semester, but i can’t imagine what it’ll be like for those who stayed home. in-person classes will be a new experience for all of us though haha, we’ll all be lost together 💀

big congratulations on getting in!! this was Hinton James (hojo)! i recommend living here, Ehringhaus, or Craige if you want a good dorm to meet other freshmen :) if you’re planning on rushing, most people who are interested in greek life live in Granville.

It depends how high you loft it! The sides of the bed are built to be a ladder you can climb.

How is the aerospace engineering major in UNC??
hi! to be honest, i have no clue LOL. i’m a Human Development Family Studies and Psychology double major, and i’m a freshman so i’m still learning about the different programs. however, from what i saw on Google, UNC only has an Aerospace Studies major, but NC State University has a Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering major.

i love UNC! every school has its flaws but the school spirit, prestige, and various communities you can get plugged in with is great. your academic experience depends on your major as well and what program you might want to pursue.
im class of 2027 but i still cant wait to be able to go to college at UNC!!!!!

Shorya Cione honestly.. both. they’re highly encouraging us to leave. if we don’t cancel by a certain date, we won’t get a refund. and if we’re staying we have to have a valid reason (international student, difficult home situation, etc.)

as a freshman, were you able to bring a car to campus?
most freshmen don’t and on campus party is difficult, even as an upperclassmen. public transport is accessible for the chapel hill/carrboro area though!! and becoming friends with upperclassmen with cars is common :)
