If I don't hit 1000 subs this year then I'm quitting haha. I try to push myself to create better videos but I feel like the algorithm puts you in the gulag for taking risks. It's also hard to be consistent when you don't get a lot of engagement on your content because it becomes tricky to pinpoint exactly why people tune in.
Hey! I checked out your channel, have you considered testing out guitar covers of the artists and older musicians that have inspired you? Some videos have you doing live performances and some don't necessarily have to do with music.
Another thing you could try would be reactions to songs, especially if you can utilize your guitar in a similar way to this youtuber did for a trending song: th-cam.com/video/Jwych_GwUGk/w-d-xo.html
I would also suggest to let the thumbnails be of you in the natural element with you and your guitar without any text for videos where you are exclusively playing. If its a reaction video: You with your guitar with a screenshot of the music video you are reacting to.
@@ekarddaily The original music never really caught on so I thought I'd try other things and see if I get any traction there. I would probably have less than 50 subs if I had stuck to that and only that (granted, original songs are an incredibly tough sale in this day and age), I used to have a few covers on my channel but they hadn't seen many views since 2020 so I took them down after a while. I guess I was trying to put the "you" back in TH-cam because I kind of hate how perfect everything has to be nowadays to gain traction, I also wanted the channel to give people a broader look at my creative perspective so they can get to know me as an artist and not just a "reaction guy" or a TH-cam guitarist. So maybe that strategy wasn't the best? I would be down to working one-on-one if you want to trade email addresses because I feel like this conversation is kind of hard to have in the comment section.
