State(s) politics aside do you think MMA is beneficial to character & physical development? I am English so I really have no domestic bias for or against US GOP or Democrat parties. P3) an army without middle management would be in chaos & so to are some firms that have higher management shielding themselves from internal competition from new talent making its way to the top through hard work innovation etc; If there is no way for promotion or the narrowing of the middle of the firms structure thus restricting the flow of information (as you see either in strict hierarchies in China) will hide mistakes by those at all levels & put pressure on those who want to do right;
P2) What we need in firms is every member of the workforce having the skills of every other - what the Japanese call Kiazen - this prevents strikes by Unions or the hour glass structure of some firms reducing middle management which is a barrier of entry level workers learning new skills & promotion to higher management everyone goes to work to make money but also that contributes to the nation; just as in army you need NCO to co-ordinate experience & new ideas & method
Good ethos in education citizens must be able to have both Trade skills & higher analytical reasoning from higher education (especially considering the need of the armed forces for both physical & technical or even scientific skills) neither are exclusive of the other as many students supplement their income during studies with part-time jobs either in stores, or in construction or in work placements during "sandwich years".
