P4) - this is why dynamic new firms that work more like networks sharing information & R&D as in the next generation of firms in the technology industries & co-operatives in the west are more enduring than some of the old style oligarchical management style firms you saw in Russia after then end of the Soviet Union or during 1920-1930s depression when so many large firms went bust - so West needs dynamic new ideas in business & economic thought. Focus in education on trades & reasoning is key
P3) an army without middle management would be in chaos & so to are some firms that have higher management shielding themselves from internal competition from new talent making its way to the top through hard work innovation etc; If there is no way for promotion or the narrowing of the middle of the firms structure thus restricting the flow of information (as you see either in strict hierarchies in China) will hide mistakes by those at all levels & put pressure on those who want to do right;
