Thanks for giving me the chance to talk about my brother Martin. It means a lot to my family and I to get the opportunity to tell his story and spread more awareness about what hasn’t been done by the city of Austin or the APD. We won’t stop fighting for Martin and the others
I hope you and your family are able to have justice for your dear brother, and eventually be at peace. ATX needs you to sound off about this to get the police off the asses and the killer in cuffs.
They need to use some of the "Tourist Money" and make sure Tourist are SAFE around Lady Bird Lake. There needs to be OUT CRY in the community for LIGHTS and CAMERAS monitored by APD if not someone more trustworthy.
You can rob, steal, do fent, but god forbid you don’t use the sidewalk while asking a cop not more than 10 ft from you a question, about a SERIAL KILLER IN THEIR TOWN. They got so many patrol cars there for jaywalking!! lol what the actual hell.
HE GOT CAUGHT IS THE DIFFERENCE 🤦♂️ AFTER GIVEN MULTIPLE WARNINGS. HE BROKE THE FOLLOWING LAW BELOW 👇 Section 552.006 - Use of Sidewalk (a) A pedestrian may not walk along and on a roadway if an adjacent sidewalk is provided and is accessible to the pedestrian. You didn’t get charged “for use of sidewalk” you stupid childish idiot.
Just to play the other side here for fairness. The sorta cctv a bar has generally records to a disk. The data is only held for a certain period of time, once the disk fills the oldest data is overwritten. So law enforcement has a time window in which to request footage of a specific point in time, after which it is very much destructively deleted, it's how the system is designed. They ain't holding all the footage they ever took, that just can't work. Source: installed these things for a living, systems we sold could hold about 4 weeks if the cams were on 12hrs a day after which day 1 goes bye bye. I can't speak to how long a period this system in Austin might have been able to hold, varies wildly based on budget and the quality you want on the recording. I still think the APD are being incompetent here, pulling the wrong day is a mistake they shouldn't make, but that data could absolutely be irretrievable. It's not a deleted memory address, the bytes have been overwritten, gone. It was Tyler that said 'deleted', and he's not a hardware tech so I'm not sure he would know the difference
The biggest crazy part is wells fargo not "having" footage of the guy who drained his bank account. That part is the weirdest for me because that guy is directly related to murder
These are the types of cases where the good guy hackers need to come forward & leak content related to the public, so everything can be sewn together by investigative parties.
I used to work as a teller at a bank here in Texas. One day one of our customers damaged another customer’s car and drove off. The other customer didn’t realize his car was damaged at first but came back and asked for footage. We had cameras inside and out and the footage but my manager lied to him and said we didn’t have anything. It was so messed up and I felt bad for him. Just wanted to share that companies will lie or hide the truth rather than doing the right thing.
@PearlSalinas I believe you, but my question is why? It literally takes 20-30 minutes and can help someone immensely. I would really question who I'm working for after that honestly
12:30 Gave them the wrong footage and then deleted the actual footage they needed... sounds like the bar is a part of it. That bar needs to be investigated.
literally exactly what I was thinking. The manager wouldn't make a mistake that serious when someone's missing/dead. I wonder if the footage could be recovered, the police do it sometimes in other situations but idk if it's the same in this instance.
He said that the cops also gave the wrong date. I don't think the bar was part of it. Just a unfortunate and stupid mistake by the bar to clear its DVR
LMAO i work in downtown austin and that lady at the start in the pink bikini constantly comes in my job and steals and claims she's an oracle and owns all the business in town.
I'm born and raised here in Austin, and I have no doubt that APD is covering something up, whether it additional information or merely their incompetence. Also, APD isn't showing up for most crimes now. It's ridiculous.
@AgentOrange96 I feel so bad for the victims and their family, they did absolutely nothing to deserve this. And the fact that police aren't doing anything is sick. I believe that police are trying to cover it up, I don't know if it's because they're scared, lazy, incompetent, or if they're hiding something bigger. Anways you are absolutely right.
Didn’t they vote to defund the police there and they scaled back funding? I’m from west Texas used to like in San Marcos. Austin Democrat ran therefore it’s what they voted for. They are scrambling to refund it and have police shortages. Nobody wants to work for a city that doesn’t support the job.
They're covering it up most likely because someone's stupidity and because they can't solve it quick enough to put someone in jail and they don't want to alarm the locals.
To hoax the relative of a missing person into desperately giving away their money in the hopes they will get their loved one back might be the worst deception humanly possible…

I’m from Pittsburgh and this is entirely wrong. We actually have a very similar case with the south side smiley face killers. Cops also cover it up, mostly younger drunk clean cut college kids. There was a massive event back in like 2018 where a college kid went missing and his parents flooded the city with missing posters
A coworker of mines boyfriend died in a small lake beach surrounded by people. He could not swim, but for whatever reason went too deep. He was trying to jump out of the water and wave for help, she just waved back, not knowing what was going on.... Idk how she nor anyone else didn't know he was in too deep / could not swim. They were drinking I think
When I was roofied, I came back to my senses outside an unfamiliar residential area. The way his brother disappeared and wandered around after 2 drinks at the bar makes me strongly suspect he was roofied.
Well yeah it’s obvious he was roofied, and one of the bars is involved. Lustre pearl does seem suspicious given their long history of odd 1-star reviews
Man, I don't remember where I saw it, but was on news year ago, someone, alone or with a group, drugged people and rob them, if victim ODs they toss em. Look up Chicago, same thing.
The same thing is happening in Chicago. Young men keep getting found in the river and nobody is talking about it enough, almost like this is a normal occurrence
actually i saw something like the Austin and Chicago are linked, whenever they find bodies in one and then they find bodies in the other but never at the same time

It is not one killer, it is a network of people. The police department and the business owners of the local bars and restaurants involved in the cases need to be investigated by the FBI. The victims wrongly deemed suicidal and responsible for their own deaths deserve justice for them and their families.
It reminds me of the way the UK police cover up the grooming gangs because of the optics and not wanting to make the politicians in charge upset by revealing what they've done. If the APD is aware that this is a foreign cartel operating in the US, they would likely try to hide it to not make the democrats open border policies look even worse. Especially in Austin, which leans far, far left. These kinds of stories are actually very common in central America... often with another element involved... Scopolomine.
It has been proven that the government has funded, participated, and covered up a snuff film ring in the 70s and 80s. I bet that's not an isolated incident, and an organization is doing something similar here. Good luck bringing made men to justice, though.
I was born and raised in Austin. I agree. There has been weird shit going on for decades. I know there are some weird Lucifer/cult stuff that goes on. I have also heard that the hospitals and UT do some really weird shit after hours with missing people.
i'm a 17 year old girl, and i went to a concert alone in austin a month or so ago. these older guys saw me and they stayed by my side all night and educated me on all of this. they made sure i got to my seat inside and found me after the show to get me to my uber safely. there are a ton of people in austin who believe this serial killer is real, and i didn't even know i was putting myself in danger that night. i will forever be grateful for that group of men.
You were VERY lucky. There should never be any event you risk your life for. You're lucky these men were happy to be "babysitters" and not a group of "older guys" who had negative ideas when they saw a young, single girl.🙄 Absolutely, incredibly stupid and careless.
When the dude being interviewed mentioned "Getting picked up by a fake Uber..." and I got a chill. That actually happened to me in Atlantic City. I had been drinking for sure, but I realized about 30 second into the ride my phone was dead and there was no way I could have called and Uber. When I asked him to stop and drop me off he said "No its ok, ill take you were you need to go anyway." He then turned down a dark road and started speeding up. I freaked out, grabbed the steering wheel and started to pull it towards the curb/buildings and screamed "pull over or ill kill us both!" He slammed on the brakes, I jumped out and he sped off. People are insane, I feel horrible for all these people that have lost innocent family member.
this is the dumbest pretend journalism ever. I forget you zoomers didn't grow up with Geraldos and Oprahs, these youtube dummies make them look like brilliant people.
I have no hate for APD, They saved my life while in mental crisis. Unlike other cops who would have ended me, The officer talked to me and told me it would get better. No lie it was a battle, and many different mental wards and many cop visits. But I got a lot better. In my 30's I finally got on the right meds. That was in 2011.
I know somebody in A.P.D. and he said that they know for sure that there's a serial killer out there. They're not allowed to speak about it or they will get put on leave
I live in Austin and was drugged at a downtown bar. I only had 3 drinks over the course of probably 4 hours. After arriving at home around 11pm, sounds started to echo and I got very sweaty and nauseous. About 15 minutes after symptoms started to set in, I started vomiting and ended up being paralyzed from the neck down on my bathroom floor. I vomited for nearly 2 hours. I remember everything but couldn’t do anything to fight through the paralysis. I do think there is somebody out there looking to harm/rob people. I believe that in my case, I was drugged so I could later be robbed. Luckily my girlfriend was able to take care of me but please be careful when in downtown Austin. This kind of stuff really does happen! I feel so sorry for all of the lives that have been lost from similar situations.
@@rhipotter6191 my assumption is the police aren’t covering up, but rather there is uncertainty as to why these deaths are happening. But a deep investigation is certainly needed to get to the bottom of this! I kind of lost all hope for resolution once my report got closed without any sort of investigation. I had suspicion of who I thought it was and to my knowledge they didn’t review camera footage. This event happened about a year ago.
I've heard the story on this incident on the "Murder in America" podcast. Your independent journalistic investigation on this matter was very compelling as well. Raising awareness to the people is much appreciated. Bless all of those who have lost a loved one.
Tyler, the work you do is very important. You represent how the future of journalism OUGHT to work. A man on the street evaluating what issues are important to communities who goes on to interview people on the street while doing your own first-hand research. @PolitikPolitik-fh2qc I disagree. It proves that Austin PD is deliberately impeding anyone who is asking real questions with bs charges. They are covering for someone.
@@loveless3578 exactly my train of thought as well. Ole porky the police officer was just looking for a reason to abuse his authority once he started bringing up Rainey Street.

I've read about it and few months ago. And i live right down the way in Houston. But of course. This would definitely put a damper to the towns tourism. And quite possibly they know the killer knows that too
Because if the public is aware that there is a possible sk on the people won’t be visiting, the property tax would have to go down which means the city won’t be making money. And those people in charge would rather see people 💀 than to loose money. And that’s sad
That's so tough to go through. I feel for that, brother. I lost my brother to a motorcycle accident, and that was super hard to deal with. I can only imagine the pain that this brother had to go through and especially with the cowards that sent him those messages saying that his brother was still alive. That is so cruel. In my town Amsterdam (a city with a lot of water and a lot of drunk people) around 19 people a year drown in the canals (most drunken or under influence). So having 30 cases over a period of 8 years (less than 4 a year) in a city with a party area next to a quick flowing, poorly lit river doesn't seem too extraordinary to be honest.
Imma tell you right now, the killer went to that Wells Fargo ATM and they need to be more accountable. The ATMs have cameras on them, my small town bank used the ATM camera once bc we put $500 in there in the ATM said we have $0 and they saw us on camera putting the money in there. The killer clearly took his card from the victim and used it at that ATM.

Definitely, but I still find it very hard to believe that a serial killer is responsible for killing straight while men...that is very very rare. They are an easier target when drunk, true, but still...I don't know. Something is really sketchy but nothing in my mind seems to be point to one concrete explanation.

AUBURN, Calif. (KCRA) - In the span of 23 months beginning in 2009, six men have drowned in an Auburn-area canal within less than a half mile of one another, said two private investigators looking into the deaths. Now, those private investigators, Larry DeMates and Jim Goodrich, are asking for an outside law enforcement agency to investigate those drownings. "People have gone back and forth all the time over the years," DeMates said. "So, why in a few months would they all the sudden begin falling in? It just doesn't add up."

Same with Richmond!! We are on the James River, bars, clubs etc all along it on riverside. Even concerts right on it. Our drowning cases are mostly kayakers, kids, white water rafting and the occasional adult drowning but never really alcohol related more recreation in the parks related or swimming near the rocks and getting sucked under.

I think that might have been the officer passing off Tyler for being drunk and harassing police. Not that it was that serious. Our guy was tipsy and asking cops a question. How does a cop arrest someone for 'misusing a sidewalk' when there are homeless on the same sidewalk not being bothered Edit: I agree with the idea he was kinda pestering, but it seems like a double standard when there are tweakers and stuff shouting at pedestrians

Had a friend who used to get hammered and randomly leave us to walk home. The last time he did it, he was found the next morning on someone’s lawn with a shattered leg. Hit by a car. Driver never found. Lucky he didn’t die. I don’t let people leave drunk alone anymore
I've lived in Austin my whole life. There's a lot of drunk people in that area, and drunk people do silly things. I acknowledge that people could get into the water of their own volition. That being said, I'm CONVINCED there's more to this story than the cops let on. Rainey has been a bar district for 14 years, yet now suddenly there's this uptick in bodies? With head trauma, and some with roofies in their system? Why would the police not want to address this? The city has wasted millions on a boardwalk and other "nice to haves", but won't put up trail cams or more barriers to the water? Something is very, very wrong.
Rainey didn't become a bar district until, maybe 2010 or so, maybe later. I had a friend who lived on the roundabout on Rainey, right next to the Mexican Cultural Center. That was one of the last houses that sold out to the new bar scene on Rainey. I'm not trying to be rude here, but I'm assuming your in your twenties, so you may not remember this.

Tyler, there is an EDM venue near me called the “Brooklyn Mirage” at Avant Gardener. This past year , just like this video , there has been 3 “ coincidental” drownings, all men of 27 years old. The community has confirmed there is a sinister killer, waiting for intoxicated people when they leave. The first murder you can see video of a person sprinting away from someone. City has denied this, but it is quite obvious. On top of that , the area itself at night (I can speak to it) looks like a scene out of a horror movie. No cell reception. It is scary . I still go because I love the music , but it’s something we all fear to be honest . I think it could make for a good video .

The story of the APD officer getting cornered in the bar by FBI agents and then him shooting himself sends chills down my spine dude. That's some Prison Break type shit.
That story was told completely wrong. The guy who killed himself in container bar was an FBI agent who was Supervisory Special Agent in the FBI’s Complex Financial Crimes Unit. He managed the FBI’s financial crimes program for the Northeast region, and was a detailee from the FBI to the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). Before working at FBI Headquarters, SSA Cincinelli led financial crime investigations in the FBI’s flagship New York Field Office. SSA Cincinelli conducted investigations involving market manipulation, corporate & accounting fraud, Ponzi schemes, money laundering, insider trading, and antitrust violations, among others. He was also in charge of a financial investigation into the Clinton Foundation. Zero connection to APD or these deaths whatsoever.

"They put up big cement stars on the bridge that costs millions but won't put up a streetlight.." That speaks volumes right there.

Insane to me that a town the size of Austin with all its money has an area like that so close to entertainment and yet so devoid of lighting at night

The crazy part is that deleting the footage did not mean it was gone. Data is recoverable unless its written over specifically.
Right, wtf well Fargo?? I bank with you , you can pull up footy of this how tf am I supposed to trust u with my money???
These are the types of cases where the good guy hackers need to come forward & leak content related to the public, so everything can be sewn together by investigative parties.
I used to work as a teller at a bank here in Texas. One day one of our customers damaged another customer’s car and drove off. The other customer didn’t realize his car was damaged at first but came back and asked for footage. We had cameras inside and out and the footage but my manager lied to him and said we didn’t have anything. It was so messed up and I felt bad for him. Just wanted to share that companies will lie or hide the truth rather than doing the right thing.
The police are corrupt and more than likely the culprits.
1000%
literally exactly what I was thinking.

Also, APD isn't showing up for most crimes now. It's ridiculous.
Home gets broken into? "File a police report" (That will never be looked at)
Fail to use a sidewalk? "Right to jail! Right away!"
You know what they say. Texes is the new California.
They're covering it up most likely because someone's stupidity and because they can't solve it quick enough to put someone in jail and they don't want to alarm the locals.
To hoax the relative of a missing person into desperately giving away their money in the hopes they will get their loved one back might be the worst deception humanly possible…

All the teens in my hometown would get drunk and high down at the beach regularly, I can't recall any drownings. we also went swimming

My first suspicion was the old man who said “you wouldn’t be able to walk that far if you were roofied”. And then proceeded to hit him with the “..Thad be the perfect cover up, doing an interview to cover it up”. And then hits Tyler with the immediate “for all I know it could be you”.
Imagine getting arrested less than 2 metres from a Zebra crossing.... I think this PD is full of dirty cops who don't want to deal with what's actually happening in Austin Texas.
Or.... the killer is a cop and the department doesn't know exactly who it is and they dont want to point fingers until they have evidence. Would explain why they're all openly lying to the public. A police department will go to extraordinary lengths to keep drama behind closed doors.

AUBURN, Calif. (KCRA) -
In the span of 23 months beginning in 2009, six men have drowned in an Auburn-area canal within less than a half mile of one another, said two private investigators looking into the deaths.

This is happening everywhere, and no they aren't falling in. Portland Maine has had incidents very similar to these as well. Likely roofied, killed and thrown into the river.

How does a cop arrest someone for 'misusing a sidewalk' when there are homeless on the same sidewalk not being bothered

While I visited Manchester a couple months back, I was told multiple stories involving a potential serial killer named the “Manchester Pusher”, who’s been in and around the canal area. Just like lady bird lake, there are no lights or cameras and all the victims suspiciously drowned after a night of drinking, the exact same way these poor individuals have been found in Texas. Majority have also been found to be young men as well. Hearing the British man towards the end of the video adds to the irony of how similar these two cases are…
Stay safe guys!
Same thing has happened in Nashville, very odd
All of our homeless will threaten to kill you if you talk to them lol. I walk fast past them. My husband was chased once by one with a knife on S Lamar. I was walking on lady bird lake one night and grabbed by the ankle (I pepper sprayed them and ran). The homeless here are super delusional because of the extreme heat and drugs they do.
This has been going on for quite a while in Manchester and is well known throughout England. I don't think the police there have eliminated the idea that it could be one person 'pushing', but it is a case of getting evidence.
