Derek my man. I’ve been letting your videos build up so I can spend a full day listening to the smooth cool voice and fan-fucking-tastic story telling. Literally about to binge dead America today. Can’t wait to hear what you cooked up in these videos!!!!!
😁 I do that too, I sometimes listen to some _inferior_ zombie stories that repeat the same phrases or are written by a moron. Then I will listen to these because they are funny, tragic, scary, and just full of world building that is interesting and compelling when you fall into them. I'll think of the nurse, the kid from the lab that's the only scientist that can work on the cure, the guy with the burned face and his sister. These characters have juice. And these stories are really light on the "H and K firing 5.5 N.A.T.O subsonic round hollow points through handmade suppressors" thing. Not that it's bad, but sometimes it's a substitute for characters. It's like someone decided developed characters aren't as cool as a shopping list. Love me some guns, but it's not always the answer is my thinking. Little zombies have big ears. Anyway, yes I'll have fries with that.
Thank you! I have a couple more of these short stories plotted out that I'm going to do, but I'm putting together a big series that should start right after that. I'm thinking it's going to be an interconnected series of standalones, similar to what NYC and Lexington was, but it's going to be set at the Outer Banks in North Carolina. That's where I went on vacation last year and it sparked a lot of ideas I wanted to explore.
Terrific story! a great entry in a terrific series. But I really have to say, my first impression was this girl actually has a glass patio door that can hold up to three days of zombies beating at it??? What is it, bullet proof glass? And then, why exactly has she not barricaded the patio door? Unless the house is empty, she has to have furniture to push against it, so why hasn't she? As the weakest spot in the house, she should have done that long ago, and it has been three days since the zombies attacked, ans she still has not barracked it? Plus she apparently has not made any plans to bug out, or how to distract the zombies away, or how to get out of the house, or anything. She has just sat and done nothing. And if she could not think of anything herself, why not ask her friends on the radio? It's kind of dumb ass to just sit and wait for the zombies to get in without making any kind of plans or taking any action. With running out of food, she wold have had to do something anyway, so why wait until the zombies are actually breaking in? Better to plan and pick the moment of your choosing----not wait until your hand if forced. She is not showing the smarts you would expect a survivor to have.. I really liked the idea of a survivor, well and alive, telling their story at some time in the future to another person. Let's face it, someone would have to make an historical record of these stories, especially if they had managed to establish a semi-safe living area. In the future, having a living narrative of the end of civilization would be incredibly valuable. And even better if it can be a recording in the person's own words and voice. I would love to hear more stories like this----a survivor looking back and telling his story.
still wish i could write as well as you. tho many on youtube try to emulate you derek, they are not you. you're the original & to be admired. be warm, be safe. neil *tip cap, out of respect.

@ Ever since you came on the scene with these stories there’s been a bunch of other channels doing zombie stories. Yours are still the best. Thanks for hooking it up for us zombie apocalypse nuts.
Always with the shoulder slams against zombies. The first dozen or so stories it was mildly amusing. Now it’s getting old. Mostly because- 1. “Shoulder slams” aren’t really a thing in real life. The average person isn’t even considering such an attack. So including it in these fictional scenarios make them even less believable because they’re dealing with these monsters. 2. NO ONE is shoulder slamming a zombie. “Yeah. Let me attack in a way that literally puts me in a potential zombie embrace and puts my face and neck within biting range of the creature” Again I say- swap out the “shoulder slam” in your AI story generating algorithm with “straight kick to the chest”. Much more realistic. Arguably would generate much more force. WAY more likely for a person to do. The natural revulsion people would have towards these creatures you’d see a kick.
These short stories are perfect they help me get through the boring parts of my day❤
I'm glad they help! I'll have another one for you next week too!
Sweet! Another great story from Derek!!
Glad you enjoyed it!

Thank you! Just trying out some different ideas with this series.
ANOTHER ONE LETS GO!🫡🫡
Hope you enjoy!
You could do a series called bar stories
I thought about that and have the stories be way over the top as the teller embellished their tale.

It would have been cool if the last guys in the bar turned out to be some people from another part of the story.
There are more of these on the way with Smitty linking them together. But certainly possible to have more links like Lexington did.

Is he a real voice? Ppl are using AI
The story is 100% my writing, but the voice is AI
Strong and empowered female character?
To an extent. Capable and rises to the occasion, but it's not an overpowered survival story if that makes sense.
Lucky and maybe very observant ...

Wonder how many of those weirdly enthusiastic commenters here are bots?
This is Dead Internet Theory.
AI made content with a fake bot audience.
Human written story, just an AI narrator.
Thank you Derek!
