I've watched the videos from Brian Johnson. He does not look good at all. I don't care what he says about his anti-aging. He just takes a bunch of supplements and lays on the red light. Nikki to longevity is proper human nutrition. You have to give the body what it needs to rebuild and repair. You need hydration. You need exercise. You need good quality sleep. Let the body heal itself. Stay away from processed foods and all that other junk. That's out there. Start with that then if you need help after that then go to pharmaceuticals

My neighbour is 93, he still works as an engineer(hydraulics), owns a German shepherd (‘only ONE now because he is in his 90s’), missing some parts of fingers due to the job, and the only issues he has had is removal of facial cancers. He is a self confessed sun worshipper. He has a smartphone, uses the internet, fixes broken things, ….He drives a big American Ute. Which he just changed the motor in. And changed the starter in his vintage Drott bulldozer. And rides a quad motorbike to run his dog everyday. (We live rurally). I take my son there for burgers on the bbq , etc, each week. I am from Africa and my grand parents' generation lived up to their 90s and 100s!!
They ate organic food including all their chicken, goat, beef and they only used cows butter from their grass fed cows.
They walked everywhere apart from when they came to the capital!!😊. They beleived in God and therefore, tried to reduce stress through faith. No sugar apart from that from fruits and honey from their hives. I also recall eating from home made beautiful clay pots and no microwaves!!
However, today's generation, which is more developed, over "vaccined"... is suffering from cancers, diabetes, obesity, strokes, heart attacks... Nonetheless, a great majority live a simple and healthy life with very clean air!!!( yes, in africa!)
My humble observation is that we would live longer if we were to respect nature, eat natural to the best of our capacity, ALWAYS move our bodies,...
Praising the universe, or God if one is religious by feeling gratitude in order to give our genes a good environnement is crucial.
Scientists have discovered that the emotion of gratitude has the power to release stress as one stays in the present...

You got it just right, mate.
The biggest ageing overall factor is urban sedentary life (or farming or mining...), disconnected from nature, land, body.
See the other comment on a hydraulics engineer of 90yo: he lives on land. That's what the majority of urbanites have lost: access to land. (Have to sacrifice your body for the money to buy the land... which becomes unaffordable faster than you can ever earn money.

Three days before death, he stopped eating and drinking. He insisted one of his neighbours to be called for saying sorry for his harsh words 36 years ago..
He had died peacefully!! In the evening, before full moon, in front of his 4 daughters, one son, and their children! Imagine that you gave someone you love very much the most incredibly wonderful, personalized gift that you could find. Wouldn't you want them to appreciate it so much that they made the most of it and did everything they could to make it last a long time? Think of this gift as your physical life that has been given to your soul. I believe it's our responsibility to do whatever we can to nurture our lives and the lives of others as long as we can. It's not about vanity or conceit or self absorption. It's about respect for life. None of us created our life. Your physical life is a gift to your soul, an opportunity to experience the physical. Implicit in cherishing life is nurturing it the best we can at every stage, even old age.
I totally understand about the rejection many people have towards the concept of longevity. I've been interested in longevity since in 1990s when I was in my 30s. Somehow some people think it's immoral to pursue longevity. So how about presenting it to them as prolonging health span? None of us want to become debilitated and end up suffering and spending all of our money on sick care. Nobody wants to become a burden on their families.
Despite all of my efforts to maintain my health span, in my 50s I became sick. First it was arthritis. Then, a cardiac spasm that was misdiagnosed leading in short order to cardiac arrest. I'm here and surprisingly healthy due to the grace of God. He put me in the right place at the right time. Then, at age 65, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Fortunately, it was early stage and I seem to be doing well today. But I don't take my health for granted. I'm always looking out for ways to improve my health. Life is good as long as we are healthy.

I don’t think Brian Johnson is suffering, but I definitely think he is cringe. The whole “I have the 🍆 of an 18-year-old” kinds of comments just really turn people off - and not even from a propriety or prudish sense. Like I get that boner pills have been some of the best selling drugs for decades but we also now have a generation of men that can’t find sexual partners because of the deficits in their personalities and their politics instead of their 🍆 So when Johnson makes statements like this (obviously for the shock factor of saying it) a lot of people roll their eyes for a number of reasons.

eg the food, when affording enough, or for the savvy, some affording only the rubbish while media throws healthy eating in their faces. Parents knowing even the healthy stuff is full of pesticides but no alternatives, (organic apples are sprayed etc!), , and housing- no noise insulation - noise from neighbours living ridiculous hours, public greenery soaked in glyphosate by councils, school carcinogenic AstroTurf banned elsewhere but not in UK, kids who won’t eat good food, new people being housed while locals aren’t, travel to work getting longer, media pressure to do what many can’t afford, Gp appointments overwhelmed, and the list goes on. ARE YOU SO TOTALLY UNAWARE of how many people see ‘living’,
Are you doing anything to change the real parameters affecting wellbeing and therefore health or just hoping to add to the make buck economy with a business in selling yet more ‘sticky plasters’.
Will your ‘solutions’ beat these ever increasing assaults on the human condition, without bringing them into the picture .

According to Jeff Bowles, its the change in the ratio of the "good" hormones (Melatonin, DHAE) to the "bad" ones (Luteneising hormone, Follicle Stimulating hormone). Of course that then begs the question of what causes the shift in hormone production?
Many have suggested a "clock" in the Hypothalamus.
There could also be a "clock" in the ratio of certain factors in the blood, according to the therapeutic plasma exchange people.
Then there's the epigenetic changes which may be a cause or a reflection of aging, depending on who you talk to. Dr David Sinclair has made bold claims about resetting epigenetic patterns bringing about restoration of function. Others are skeptical and point to his commercial interests.
There are anecdotal reports of women taking large amounts of NAD precursors and allegedly reversing menopause.
So, plenty to stir into this complex plot!
I'm sure all the above are related in some profound way, along with possibly other factors we are yet to identify.

The brilliance of Bryan Johnson is he knows what he's doing is not for everyone, however, he is able to break it down for the average person to make changes that can greatly improve their health. I think his greatest achievement so far is debunking all the newer therapies as "on the margin showing improvements that can be measured" but not enough to be scientifically proven to show dramatic decline in overall markers. Things like red light, cold plunges, etc. All good on the margin but you are better off with other efforts. It's interesting stuff and not very complicated but people generally don't like something that requires a little effort on their part. To each his/her own.

Having had two grandmothers that lived very long lives,107 and 99, I know that getting old can be challenging. It is the quality of your life as you age that is important. I choose to live as long as possible so I can continue to do new things. If my grandmothers had been given the opportunity to live longer and be healthy they would have taken that choice. My one grandmother at age 107 told me she did not want to die because there were things she still wanted to do. Aging is a disease that needs to be cured. Lobby and write your political representatives to recognize aging as a disease so that research on aging can get the funding it needs.

It wasn't caused by penicillin, but by the energy from fossil fuels, which are now depleted. Technology won't solve the energy crisis. Even without life extension, not reducing the population by birth control will mean that physics will do it for us, through starvation, war, climate change, water shortages, etc. Energy *is* the economy, not technology.

Terrible interview and typical mainstream "scientist".
    Compare age to cancer!!!
I’m concerned about the statements made in this interview, as they seem to reflect a limited understanding of the science involved. It's infuriating to hear the focus placed on age as a primary issue, rather than considering the significant impact of lifestyle and environmental factors. Such a perspective is reductionist and doesn't fully embrace the complexity of the subject.
Age should be seen as a source of strength and wisdom, not merely as a factor contributing to disease. Oversimplifying the matter in this way can perpetuate misconceptions and hinder progress. It’s crucial for scientists to maintain an open mind and distinguish between theory, truth, and the unknown.

I listened to the docto, a woman, r at least a dozen times. And she always said at least 50 üut more than here. It's not her fault. You should ask other questions, and like this, for almost an hour, Nothing. Then she knows much, much more and I appreciate her very much for that. Talk about it and not about grandparents, talk about the essence of things and not how to fight. And you know...

Processed food manufacturers need to hear from consumers that less ADDED sugar, oil and salt is wanted in their food products.
Why is there so much added sugar in everything, even bread. That's just crazy
Email, text, tweet or phone your favorite producer of poison and let them know consumers want less salt, oils and sugars in their products.
Let their customer service department know that all the extra added salt, oil and sugar is not necessary or desired and is causing health issues.

This is one long ethics conversation! I have listened to this entire podcast by a so called expert yet have not learned anything at all in terms of increasing my health span or longevity! You wasted an opportunity to give out any real whisdom. Superficial fluff at best. All obvious stiff that anyone listening would already know! What a missed opportunity. Terrible job by YOU as an interviewer.

Great video, thanks! But the evolutionary logic of dying after you've fulfilled your biological purpose is in contradiction with the idea that you can actually extend your healthspan by adopting a healthy lifestyle: fasting, the keto diet or whatever are always presented as something our ancestors did when we were hunters and gatherers & thus it's supposed to be good for us. But now we're being told they were dead by 40. So why should we care? It seems evolution is a theory that can always be adopted to suit some argument, regardless of the contradictions that this might entail.

This particular video and transcript do not provide specific "how-to" instructions or steps for reversing biological age. The discussion focuses more on the high-level concepts, scientific rationale, and potential for targeting aging itself as a way to prevent or delay age-related diseases.
Nicola mentions that her company, Nido Laboratories, aims to translate natural molecules that have shown promise in slowing aging into products people can use. However, she doesn't go into details about what those specific molecules or products are or how to use them.
The video serves more as an introduction to the concept of aging as a root cause of disease, the field of longevity research, and the challenges in shifting societal perceptions about aging. It lays the groundwork for why pursuing ways to slow or reverse biological aging could be beneficial, but doesn't dive into the specific methods or interventions to achieve that goal. More specific guidance would likely come in future videos or materials from Nicola and her company.

Well if I would live longer I would devote my existence to solving problems as much as possible, but given the regime I experience now I am not only slowly losing it more and more but will die much earlier then others...
So to give me back a normal lifespan by gradually stopping the medication I am on would already by an enormous win. Let alone this research...

Drugs can be great but the medical industry is becoming increasingly commercialised. All the big drug companies fund swathes of studies of which they use to promote their products, even when the data is questionable. Doctors (who really want to help people) don't read stuidies, they are just guided by the drug companies and regulators (who are funded by the drug companies). Sick people are big bisuness unfortunately and unless people learn about this then we'll never achieve great health.

Interesting that Dr Conlan mentioned that researchers find that the most beneficial molecules are those that are naturally occurring as opposed to lab synthesized, which is intuitively obvious and confirms that nature ultimately has the answers.

I think you just lost loads of potential viewers with this. I know it's a good coversation between yourselves. But this offers no answers. That's what people want. Stuff like this adds to the idea that anti-aging is a scam. This is not good for the community.

Ugh we can all do this ourselves guys, its simple, define health
The function of all your bodily systems
Which ofc includes organs and everything
Just identify all those things into categories
And then research what maximizes or helps or all the components used in each and every single one of those things, make a list and add to it as time goes on then find a way to obtain those be it through plant based supplements or food or a mix
Create a diet and supplement protocol with all of it add exercise sun exposure, near infra red light and drink enough water spaced out throughout the day, and donate your blood
And find out if you have any mutations that prevent you from synthesizing certain vitamins or minerals and get a form that you can, the body will take care of the rest just give it the parts, oh and oral hygiene is super important, brush them teeth guys

I'm soooooo disappointed. I watched this whole video, waiting on and expecting to learn something about the research itself & how it works and what is learned about the chemistry of aging and how a medication works in our dna to reverse cell aging. Do you have this information in another video? If so, please share where I can find it..
