I grew up with See’s candy chocolate bunnies and cream eggs in my Easter basket as well as Brach’s jelly beans and chewy marshmallow eggs. That was before the huge candy companies took over all the holidays and holiday candy was actually special. Yeah, I’m old. I’m a 70’s kid.
Easter is tough for me as I'm allergic to Gelatine which is in most marshmallows and we get alot of marshmallow eggs here 🇿🇦, not fancy ones like RS. But I'm lactose intolerant as well (to the point where I'm on medication for it) We do t have alot of Vegan/Halaal gummy sweets here and that why I like USA🇺🇸 sweets(Mike&Ikes, Sour patch kids etc.) that are made with corn starch as a stabilizer rather than gelatine.
You caught me out uploading now, and I’ve no Crunchie to get me through! BTW Alex, I’ve done the same to a chocolate mousse, stirred it to get rid of the air and make ‘pudding’. My family think that’s strange but some things have to be investigated! After your luscious video I want sweeties, chocolate and pudding and I’m not allowed to make a night-time munchies run. When my brother's girls were little they coloured cupcakes with blue food colouring and put in too much colouring...they had blue poop afterward and my youngest niece said "can we make blue poop again" after they had eaten all the cupcakes. LOL

My two favorite Easter candy items: 1 - The Lindt gold bunny. 2. Russell Stover birds nest - this is a toasted coconut chocolate in the shape of a birds nest. It used to have a few jelly beans in the center, but they stopped doing that a few years ago. Haven't seen them recently...not sure if they are still making them.
Oh awesome I haven’t seen the Russell Stover bird nest but they remind me of the Christmas wreath ones. That’s a shame they took the jellybeans in the centre out I feel like that would go really well.
Cadbury cream eggs and the mini eggs are my favorite, then I love the starburst jelly beans and the spiced jelly beans, and also need to have robin eggs (like whoppers but a hard candy coating like m&ms)

When I was little, there was an ice cream store that my brother and I would get Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle ice cream which was, green ice cream with red discs that were supposed to represent pizza. No matter how much fun we were having eating it... it came out the other end bright green LOL

Up until only a few years ago, I used to wait allll year long for Cadbury’s mini eggs at Easter. They have been my favorite since I was a little kid. The powdery outside and the creamy inside. Mmm I love them! But now, almost every holiday has its version of Cadbury sweets. Christmas has snowballs, and that’s all I can think of but I know I don’t have to wait all year anymore which is so nice! They are definitely my favorite “Easter candy.” But they are closely followed by Reese’s mini eggs. Kate, I know you don’t care for them, but I’m with Alex on this one.. I love them!🤗
I think that it's because we're so used to the British creme eggs and mini eggs and have grown up with them. The American version just doesn't have the nostalgic feel we know from our childhood xx
Sometimes in drugstores you can find bags of spearmint gummy type candy. They look just like the orange ones but are green and spearmint in flavor. Happy Easter!

We have similar puddings in Germany, but I really like to cook pudding by myself. Just getting pudding mix/powder from the store and mix it into boiling milk. And I love it eating it when it's still warm. Fun story: 6 years ago I worked in the US as an Au-par. Once my mome send me some of my German candy and also a pack of pudding powder. I remember my host mom looking at me cringeing saying:“You just can go to the store and buy pudding there. You know thar, right?“ Ofcause I knew, but this pudding I had just for me, because my host family did like the German pudding.
It's ok to say Chuckles suck. Hahaha. We have another candy called Necco wafers. It's a retro candy but still available in a lot of stores. My grandfather loved them, but I think they taste like weired antiacids. Pretty gross. I don't get it...but we grow up on weird candies, don't we? My version of a Necco wafer when I was a kid was called Smarties. They have giant Smarties, and it's like weird powder tablets but the Smarties are a little more tart and not as gross as Necco wafers. Haha. I guess it was an upgrade?
Its so weird that you guys like Russel Stover... I just had a chocolate bunny from them here in Canada, and it was the chalky-est, most tasteless chocolate I'd ever eaten. And I've had some BAD chocolate in my day. Canada must get all the off batches or something, cause here its one of the brands that you cringe when you see it in your Easter basket or Christmas stocking.
I grew up thinking pudding was a custard like dish. In our house it was a Jello brand product . It was a powder that you mixed with milk and cooked on the stovetop. I don’t remember when it started showing up pre made, but you can get several brands and flavors. Some brands are sold refrigerated and some not. There is a chocolate caramel swirl! I,m putting a basket together for my sister just now - Ghirardelli chocolate bunny, Brachs spiced jelly eggs, Cadbury eggs (candy coated, creme, and caramel), and two packs of peeps that I’ve been aging since last year. I’m 65, she’s 59. Never miss an excuse to buy candy in mass quantities 😊. Love the show, very entertaining

More than likely pudding. Is actually done by jello. There's all different kinds of flavors chocolate, vanilla, butterscotch, lemon meringue, mango, banana cream pie, brownie caramel swirl, tapioca, dulce de leche, cinnamon swirl churro, chocolate cinnamon spice, and swirls that's just scratching the surface.
You guys have barely even scratched the surface American pudding. You could probably do an entire episode tasting just Snack Pack brand shelf stable puddings. Jello brand also had a decent number of pudding mixes that are either instant where you just add cold milk or mixes that require cooking to prepare. The best premade pudding cups are actually in the refrigerated section of our grocery stores. Some of the popular brands of refrigerated puddings are from Kozy Shack (rice or tapioca puddings), Jello of course, and my favorite is Swiss Miss. It would be costly to get you guys any of the refrigerated stuff even though they are really good.
See's candy (chocolate butter cream eggs) are my absolute favorite. See's puts Russle Stover chocolate to shame!. See's is a West Coast candy company, not usually found beyond Nevada. I also love Brach's black jelly beans.
The Reese's Peanut Butter Eggs are my favorite part of the Easter season! I think it's because they were my Gramp's favorite. The video was great! I look forward to the wtf video tomorrow!
We also have Cadbury mini eggs in Canada! The packaging is purple like the US but the printing is slightly different. The colour of the eggs we get is also much different from both the US and the UK ones. Ours are much brighter in colour and they taste absolutely amazing. They became so popular here that they are now available year round!
What most people call custard, tous germans is pudding. Well....we call it pudding. Its quire similar to the US chocolate pudding you had tried here. Whereas here in New Zealand any dessert or dessert foods are commonly called pudding. When i first moved to NZ it confused me quite a lot but i now learned what people, especially the elderly, mean when they ask me for pudding at work (i work in a restaurant)

Reese eggs or Robin's eggs. Since I can only get Robin's eggs at easter time. In the reese pieces has different peanut butter than normal resse cups
They carry water in a reservoir and process urine to purify it back into water. They have a dispenser for hot water and the button is amber in color instead of red. Red is reserved for emergencies.

We have similar puddings in Germany, but I really like to cook pudding by myself. Just getting pudding mix/powder from the store and mix it into boiling milk. And I love it eating it when it's still warm. Fun story: 6 years ago I worked in the US as an Au-par. Once my mome send me some of my German candy and also a pack of pudding powder. I remember my host mom looking at me cringeing saying:“You just can go to the store and buy pudding there. You know thar, right?“ Ofcause I knew, but this pudding I had just for me, because my host family did like the German pudding.
It's ok to say Chuckles suck. Hahaha. We have another candy called Necco wafers. It's a retro candy but still available in a lot of stores. My grandfather loved them, but I think they taste like weired antiacids. Pretty gross. I don't get it...but we grow up on weird candies, don't we? My version of a Necco wafer when I was a kid was called Smarties. They have giant Smarties, and it's like weird powder tablets but the Smarties are a little more tart and not as gross as Necco wafers. Haha. I guess it was an upgrade?
Its so weird that you guys like Russel Stover... I just had a chocolate bunny from them here in Canada, and it was the chalky-est, most tasteless chocolate I'd ever eaten. And I've had some BAD chocolate in my day. Canada must get all the off batches or something, cause here its one of the brands that you cringe when you see it in your Easter basket or Christmas stocking.
I grew up thinking pudding was a custard like dish. In our house it was a Jello brand product . It was a powder that you mixed with milk and cooked on the stovetop. I don’t remember when it started showing up pre made, but you can get several brands and flavors. Some brands are sold refrigerated and some not. There is a chocolate caramel swirl! I,m putting a basket together for my sister just now - Ghirardelli chocolate bunny, Brachs spiced jelly eggs, Cadbury eggs (candy coated, creme, and caramel), and two packs of peeps that I’ve been aging since last year. I’m 65, she’s 59. Never miss an excuse to buy candy in mass quantities 😊. Love the show, very entertaining

More than likely pudding. Is actually done by jello. There's all different kinds of flavors chocolate, vanilla, butterscotch, lemon meringue, mango, banana cream pie, brownie caramel swirl, tapioca, dulce de leche, cinnamon swirl churro, chocolate cinnamon spice, and swirls that's just scratching the surface.
I think your pudding is closer to the American bread pudding (New Orleans is known for bread pudding). Not exactly the same but similar. 🤔🙂

You guys have barely even scratched the surface American pudding. You could probably do an entire episode tasting just Snack Pack brand shelf stable puddings. Jello brand also had a decent number of pudding mixes that are either instant where you just add cold milk or mixes that require cooking to prepare. The best premade pudding cups are actually in the refrigerated section of our grocery stores. Some of the popular brands of refrigerated puddings are from Kozy Shack (rice or tapioca puddings), Jello of course, and my favorite is Swiss Miss. It would be costly to get you guys any of the refrigerated stuff even though they are really good.
See's candy (chocolate butter cream eggs) are my absolute favorite. See's puts Russle Stover chocolate to shame!. See's is a West Coast candy company, not usually found beyond Nevada. I also love Brach's black jelly beans.

The Reese's Peanut Butter Eggs are my favorite part of the Easter season! I think it's because they were my Gramp's favorite.

We also have Cadbury mini eggs in Canada! The packaging is purple like the US but the printing is slightly different. The colour of the eggs we get is also much different from both the US and the UK ones. Ours are much brighter in colour and they taste absolutely amazing. They became so popular here that they are now available year round!
What most people call custard, tous germans is pudding. Well....we call it pudding. Its quire similar to the US chocolate pudding you had tried here. Whereas here in New Zealand any dessert or dessert foods are commonly called pudding. When i first moved to NZ it confused me quite a lot but i now learned what people, especially the elderly, mean when they ask me for pudding at work (i work in a restaurant)
