Yup, I think we need to do casual mode. The discord community was not happy when we suggested that we offer an optional nerfed-movement casual experience, so ultimately we never went through with it, but watching stuff like this confirms what we as a studio have known for years; the silent majority wants the game to be more casual, and the high skill gap is killing the game.
I think expanding onboarding servers would be a better idea, let people get the hang of the game until like rank 20, then into servers with other players.
optional is great, I think a lot of the annoyance was with the removal of tech that didnt affect the game negatively, and the dev's seemingly just wanting to kill movement tech without compramise

I really miss 2017 - 2018 Phantom Forces. I think what a lot of people need to understand is that the reason why we say old phantom forces is better is not necessarily because of the game itself, it was everything overall. The atmosphere in old PF was less serious, the community was much less sweaty and much more enjoyable. The community back in the day was a haven of friendships and light toxicity, whereas now it’s a haven of bot activity, toxicity and sweats. Modern Phantom Forces lacks what the old game had, which was carelessness. The modern game feels as if it’s directly trying to beat Battlefield, what with the really over the top movement, insane visuals, and stats menu. The old game felt fun, from the minute you joined. The old game gave you laughs because of the glitches and gave you endless fun because of glitches, movement, and gameplay whereas the modern game gives you headaches. Stylis really lost the way around 2020, when Mar left, and this game became so much more unnecessarily tryhardy. With Stylis basically falling apart at the seams, with devs leaving and not working on PF, the community falling apart and becoming more toxic every update, and with the gameplay becoming more reliant on skill but not fixing the balancing issues that plagued the game from the start, it really feels as if PF is going downhill. Not to mention the endless controversies from the Audi situation, which is when a lot of people lost respect for stylis, to Axle allegedly openly admitting he doesn’t care what the community wants, to Stylis being in some heat recently with inconsistent weapon changes, I just miss old PF. When we say we want old PF, we don’t just want the game, we want the old times back too.

Constantly fidgeting with the models and stats that didn’t really matter, no nice or bizarre guns just useless remodels. They just decided out of nowhere that ‘oh AK-12s need a remodel’ like who tf asked for it bro. Each time a new update drop, I sighed out of frustration because I know what it will be, and it is; hundreds of paragraphs of useless numbers that don’t matter.
The fact that we don't usually find noobs in lobbies anymore or the problem with skill gaps is because stylis created a dedicated beginners server for new players and to prevent smurfs they will teleport you into main servers that most players are in

Honestly, I don't think the game was better back then - the amount of content we currently have is insane compared to those years - however, what those game versions do (or rather did) have is the player count. Nowadays, only the OG sweats play the game on a regular basis, with the occasion of a new player trying it out, whereas back then there was a constant influx of new players. That meant that, while you might get the occasional sweat, most lobbies were on an equal playing field and new players could actually learn the ropes of the game while still having fun.
I used to start playing on 2020-2022 on my console, the new feels so arcade-like. Similarities to Bad Buisness and Gunfight Arena. Old felt so clean, brand out of the box.
Played phantom forces around 2015 2016 as a guest, always remembered full sending with a m60 and running the ak12 as my main (I think it was unlocked at rank 12 or something at that time idk)
It’s quite nostalgic. They should make a nostalgia mode or as a separate game with all the old models sounds and stuff, but stats carryover but in my opinion, 2016 was best impression

The railgun WAS in the actual game back when the space case was first added into the game. It was a limited time roblox event iirc and the rail gun itself was like a halo power weapon spawn on one specific map with no gravity where anyone could pick it up and dominate was definitely a fun timd
this video made me realize that the player characters aren't bald anymore. I one started playing around 2017/8 (joined roblox on an old account in 2016, just checked) and while I never progressed past level 10 on it, me and my friend who got me into the game would have a fair bit of fun. Only recently got back into PF on my current account and its a lot of fun. Me and the friend who got me into PF graduated last year. Wow.

Sadly I lost that account after using it for around 5 months and had to make a new one wich is still the one I use. I would be honest, old version of PF is way better than the new one, ESPECIALLY at 2018 to 2020 where its at its peak before pandemic and before PF Developers they introduce a thing that the playerbase turned into what we are right now, the MVP rewards.

Hey yesterday i found a weapon that has literally no recoil without any attachments and it only gets better with stuff like the T-Brake or other stuff Forgot to put the name of the gun LOL Its the ASMI in machine pistols secondary Crazy damage up close and no recoil at 600rpm

I would be honest, old version of PF is way better than the new one, ESPECIALLY at 2018 to 2020 where its at its peak before pandemic and before PF Developers they introduce a thing that the playerbase turned into what we are right now, the MVP rewards.

the old versions were much slower paced, and i miss that. PF is just too fast paced now. also, bring back Luck and Blizzard. this game needs more good maps.
