Could you drive around Miles Platting and Hulme Hall Lane. I used to live there I'd love to see again. Thank you.

Im originally from North Manchester, and have lived in the States (Pennsylvania) and many areas in Greater Manchester remind me of parts of West and South Philly, although not as run down, Philly is a total different ball game when it comes to poverty and deprivation.

Philly is on a whole different level indeed. We will be traveling back to the states in the near future, Philly is on the bucket list. Just got to be very carful.

I went to Seedly Council junior school then on to Tootal Road secondary in the 1960's. Both long gone.

Salford is a massive red area of Greater Manchester. The city of Salford is wall to wall red, very few City fans live there. My dad's family are Failsworth and New Moston (North Manchester), which North Manchester is massive Man Utd area as well. Mancunians and Salfordians, twin cities, and brother's they are 🙂

City fans in Broughton Park as Jewish mancs always favoured City.

Just as depressing as I remember. My old house on Tootal Drive is gone. @5:42 as well as the school. My Auntie Eileen's house on the corner @5:58. The Weaste Hotel is still a dump.

Those are good solid houses that have stood for over 100 years. There are streets like that all over the UK. I was brought up in that area, had a good childhood and education. Emmeline Pankhurst, who led the Suffragettes also lived in that area and was married in the church you see in the distance in the opening section. You shouldn't be so quick to criticise.
