I appreciate your conciseness and description of screws and the different views, when I followed a tutorial to build the Ender 3 he started to forget to tell you what screws to use half way through and he also didn’t show a great view of what he was doing
Thanks much. My style is SO tedious, and a ton of work, but, I do think it pays off. When I watch something, to learn, I want every detail. It drives me nuts to be pausing, and rewinding, and jumping through hoops, when something I need, is breezed over, so, I think of that, when I shoot, and go over EVERY DETAIL. Thanks man, I just changed my driver board from the 4.2 to the quieter one (can remember the nomenclature). I completely forgot how to do this when i installed the probe over a year ago.
You may have an ooooollldd 8Bit board. Can put a 4.2.2 or 4.2.7 on it. Probs cheap enough these days. But. A V3 SE, may be a better option, for a low cost step up
hey man, great video. but theres a problem. you didnt tell us where to adjust the bed springs. i seen another video where he got 4 bushings with his cr touch i did not get those in my cr touch. so now i cant home it or get the bed to be at the correct height. and home is now in the middle of the bed instead of left front corner. please help.

I'm a HUGE fan of the Ender 3 MAX. I have 3 of them. However, I only use Creality hardware on them, so, sadly, I do not.... However, they work great with the CR-TOUCH, and Creality Mainboard. However, I do not use Creality Firmware.
4 things ... 1) I thought you had to do some z-offset setting. 2) I also thought there is a bed leveling mesh that also needs to be saved. 3) Isn't there also a setting change you need to do in your slicer for this as well? 4) What if your Ender 3Pro currently has Marlin firmware (mine does)?
I'm very thankful for modern tech. Everything worked great from assembly to firmware until the screen was in Chinese. Easy google translate threw camera and I was able to switch back to English. There is prob a way to have English as primary if I edit the Bin file but I'm to lazy to learn that one right now. Now off to watch how to actually level the thing. :) Great vid. 👍
Your firmware should absolutely be defaulted to English. Also, I use this firmware on my Three E3MAX (donate $2 for access. Worth it): marlin.crc.id.au/

im having problems with getting the firmware on my printer! and with what app do you open the file cause i got it on notepad and it doens't work! and i think thats the problem. pleaze help!🙏

I'm stumped, I bought this ender 3 pro with the micro swiss hotend already installed it has the v4.2.7motherboard on it and I was told that it has custom firmware already on it. I just got my CR touch installed and cant seem to figure out how to enable it. I have only been doing research for an hour but it would be helpful for some insight from someone who knows better than me!
The firmware MUST support BL-TOUCH or CR-TOUCH (they use the same firmware). If you don't have a TOUCH, the firmware will NOT support the Touch. So, since you didn't have one, the firmware needs to be changed. This place has great firmware: marlin.crc.id.au/
Yet another great video, I really like the fact that your videos are at a more human level not at level 1000 making me pause the video several times to see the last step. One quick question, is it possible for the fans not to cool the horned as efficiently with the new ABL plat attached. Could the ABL attachment plate be secured over the fan shroud? I’ll be installing my ABL in the morning
Do as as shown here. Keep in mind the air flow to the nozzle comes out a little duct at the bottom of the fan. Also, thank you.... I like to speak to peeps like a HUMAN. I hate having to rewind, pause, freeze frame. Wtf he do there!? So... my painful pacing is intentional. :)

does this work similarly or the same on other printers that are similar to ender 3? in this case the voxelab aquila c2? as i cant find any tutorials for it
Hi, yes, this should work fine. I think a BL-TOUCH is more common on the Aquila, but, a CR-TOUCH and BL-TOUCH run off the same firmware. As long as you wire it up properly, you'll be good to go. Just be sure to use firmware that support BL-TOUCH. Again, that firmware will also support CR-TOUCH

I have the regular ender 3 what firmware should I use because I don’t have the control section on my printer and nothing shows up when I use the put the firmware in I tried using the pro 32 bit one you showed and nothing happened so I tried using the the regular ender 3 32 bit for V4.2.2 and still nothing
I lost power during the firmware update, does that mean my board is fried or is there anything I can do to fix it? It just sits on a blank screen when powered on
This is a huge upgrade, as you can now make minute software adjustments, for that perfect Z-Height, rather than having to physically move a switch, which is archaic.
I wouldn't. There is no reason to remove the CR-Touch. You lose ABL, and more critical, you lose Z-Offset control. Keep the Touch. Also, don't use G29 You'd need to revert back to a non Touch Firmware.
I have an ender 3 pro and I am getting the "no tf card error " after installing the creality firmware. This seems to be a common issue I am seeing online but I haven't found a good fix yet. My SD card is formated correctly and has all of the files in the correct spot/format as well. I have reformated and wiped the SD seceral times with no luck. From my understanding of what I have read online this may be a creality firmware issue. Any tips/videos on how I could fix this?
Step 1: Use a different card. Sometimes these machines reject cards. Also, the stock card is garbage. I use these on all my machines: amzn.to/40JGxqm Be sure to format in FAT32, and use 32gb or less. Pop the card in, and manually save settings with the firmware. That may help trigger the machine to recognize the card.

Feels like the firmware didn't take. Possibly wrong version? Make sure it's the BLTOUCH (or cr) firmware, and matches the Board version on your machine

I dont know what im doing to be compleatly honest. I dont know how a CR touch works and your printer has a compleatly different software to what i have. I saw the ender 3 pro software on a standard ender 3 printer so im not sure if I should upgrade the printer software to a pro or leave it as it is as i dont have the correct options for the CR touch
Hey just having some trouble with updating the firmware. I confirmed that I have a 4.2.2 and downloaded that but it isn't automatically updating and I can't figure out why.
Use a different card. 32gb or smaller Formatted in Fat32 Bin file on the root directory. Rename the file. Any new name. In the machine while off. Turn it on
Need some help here. Followed instructions, when i inserted chip in machine and turned it on it stayed at the blue blank screen before ender logo for about 10 minutes before i shut it off and turned it back on. It seems to have updated beacuse i have the options but it now will register that the card is inserted on home screen but will say no FT card. Yes ive tried 3 cards now 8g, 16g, and 32g and all formated to FAT32. Any help will be appreciated because i cant seem to fix this issue at all, even tried reinstalling it.
I installed the cr auto level (creality ender 3) and now the filament doesn't stick to the bed. I think it's TOO far away from the bed. And if i move it it stays on the same level
Followed all the instructions in your video (great explanation of everything by the way) and now have the BLTouch and leveling options available to me on my Ender 3 Pro but also have a really glitched out LCD screen. Any idea on what happened here? I confirmed I have a 4.2.2 board.
Hey everyone please correct me if I’m wrong I am still very new to this, but isn’t the wiring to the mother board backwards? Granted my BL TOUCH is a duplicate and not the original , my printer was freaking out on display and feint burning smell was coming . I checked the board and nothing seemed to be damaged but it works now that I flipped the wiring . Please help

I have ender 3 s1 pro. It has pre installed CR touch. But problem is CR touch probe is slightly below the nozzle level. It is dragging print leyer. Your CR touch probe is above the nozzle. Please anyone tell how to solve this.
Likely the wrong firmware. Flashing back to stock should get the screen back on, then can try again. Be sure using BL TOUCH firmware, and for the right machine, and board.
@@3DRundown I have the right one for the main board and it has a setting for the bl touch. But I don't have the stock firmware anymore. My main board is 4.2.7, will it be an issue if I go back to the stock firmware if I can find it? I upgraded my board yesterday
Sounds like a potential wrong firmware. Use a Different card. 32gb or less. Format in fat32. Put the firmware on it. Machine OFF: Put the card in machine, turn machine on.
@@3DRundown its in fat32 and only has the file you put on. It still only shows blue. my file shows a windows explorer icon does that make a difference?
The icon shouldn't matter. However, the machine will not read the same file name more than once. So, try this: RENAME THE FILE. Any change. even just adding a #
@@3DRundown yeah I got my ender in like, 2018 when it was still a "groundbreaking new budget printer". Didn't even know they came with 32 bit boards I thought only the newer ones did! Mines 8 bit lol

It doesn't like the firmware. Figure out why. Perhaps wrong file, wrong version? You can go back to the older, then try again. Or, you can try again, but, rename the file. If you install FIRMWARE.BIN, it won't load that file again. You'll need to rename it, such as FIRMWARE2.BIN

possibly installed wrong language firmware? Should be able to change it back to english with a little poking around, if familiar where the settings usually are. Purple is ok

Hi, I'm new to this and I can't seem to find the port that the CR touch plug goes into. The motherboard is v1.1.4.
1.1.4 is old 8bit. Won't work. I would get a 4.2.7 board. Even a 4.2.2 would work. But 4.2.7 is the newer of the Ender boards

YES. Grab a V3. Preferably one with a Nebula: KE, V3, or V3 PLUS. But, if budget is a thing, the SE is still a huge upgrade from your E3

Hi, yes, this should work fine. I think a BL-TOUCH is more common on the Aquila, but, a CR-TOUCH and BL-TOUCH run off the same firmware. As long as you wire it up properly, you'll be good to go. Just be sure to use firmware that support BL-TOUCH. Again, that firmware will also support CR-TOUCH

This is a very old board. You should be able to install the 1.1.4 Firmware on it. I have not used that board myself
I lost power during the firmware update, does that mean my board is fried or is there anything I can do to fix it? It just sits on a blank screen when powered on

Because Z Offset is now set in the firmware, using the CR-Touch.

This is a huge upgrade, as you can now make minute software adjustments, for that perfect Z-Height, rather than having to physically move a switch, which is archaic.
is there away to disable the CR Touch after installing it? cause i took the G29 GCode and i put my switch back on but it is not homing properly
I wouldn't. There is no reason to remove the CR-Touch. You lose ABL, and more critical, you lose Z-Offset control. Keep the Touch. Also, don't use G29
You'd need to revert back to a non Touch Firmware.

My ender 3 has the option "configure" instead of "control" and it doesnt have the bltouch or bed leveling options after following your instructions
Did you install the firmware version that supports the touch? Make sure of that
I have an ender 3 pro and I am getting the "no tf card error " after installing the creality firmware. This seems to be a common issue I am seeing online but I haven't found a good fix yet. My SD card is formated correctly and has all of the files in the correct spot/format as well. I have reformated and wiped the SD seceral times with no luck. From my understanding of what I have read online this may be a creality firmware issue. Any tips/videos on how I could fix this?
Step 1: Use a different card. Sometimes these machines reject cards. Also, the stock card is garbage. I use these on all my machines: amzn.to/40JGxqm
Be sure to format in FAT32, and use 32gb or less. Pop the card in, and manually save settings with the firmware. That may help trigger the machine to recognize the card.

Feels like the firmware didn't take. Possibly wrong version? Make sure it's the BLTOUCH (or cr) firmware, and matches the Board version on your machine

I saw the ender 3 pro software on a standard ender 3 printer so im not sure if I should upgrade the printer software to a pro or leave it as it is as i dont have the correct options for the CR touch

Hey just having some trouble with updating the firmware. I confirmed that I have a 4.2.2 and downloaded that but it isn't automatically updating and I can't figure out why.

Need some help here. Followed instructions, when i inserted chip in machine and turned it on it stayed at the blue blank screen before ender logo for about 10 minutes before i shut it off and turned it back on.
It seems to have updated beacuse i have the options but it now will register that the card is inserted on home screen but will say no FT card. Yes ive tried 3 cards now 8g, 16g, and 32g and all formated to FAT32.
Any help will be appreciated because i cant seem to fix this issue at all, even tried reinstalling it.
32g Fat 32 should work. Did you try a different card? Do you have at least one GCODE file on the card?

So got it all installed on the card but the printer seems to not be updating. It just has its normal settings. Its the ender 3 not the pro.

Shorting somewhere. I would turn it off, and check all the tiny little connectors at the board. Be sure they seated ok.

Hey everyone please correct me if I’m wrong I am still very new to this, but isn’t the wiring to the mother board backwards? Granted my BL TOUCH is a duplicate and not the original , my printer was freaking out on display and feint burning smell was coming . I checked the board and nothing seemed to be damaged but it works now that I flipped the wiring . Please help
Your knockoff may have the colors of the wires backwards.

I have ender 3 s1 pro. It has pre installed CR touch. But problem is CR touch probe is slightly below the nozzle level. It is dragging print leyer. Your CR touch probe is above the nozzle. Please anyone tell how to solve this.
The sprite was made for the crtouch. That shouldn't be happening. Is its bracket bent? Is the probe damaged and not fully retracting?

DO NOT DO THAT. You will lose your ABL mesh, and your ability to control the Z-OFFSET. It's a massive downgrade.

Likely the wrong firmware. Flashing back to stock should get the screen back on, then can try again. Be sure using BL TOUCH firmware, and for the right machine, and board.

The icon shouldn't matter. However, the machine will not read the same file name more than once. So, try this: RENAME THE FILE. Any change. even just adding a #

It doesn't like the firmware. Figure out why. Perhaps wrong file, wrong version? You can go back to the older, then try again. Or, you can try again, but, rename the file. If you install FIRMWARE.BIN, it won't load that file again. You'll need to rename it, such as FIRMWARE2.BIN

possibly installed wrong language firmware? Should be able to change it back to english with a little poking around, if familiar where the settings usually are. Purple is ok
