    Boise returns arguably the best running back in the nation. The offense will be explosive if the new QB and receivers develop and begin to realize their potential.

      Yep, Ashton Jeanty is an absolute stud. Boise State should have weapons all over the field on offense and they will be hard to stop.

    Boise State added the number 1 JUCO recruit Chris Marshall, who was a 5-star WR coming out of high school and has played for Texas A&M & Ole Miss.

    I am a lifelong BSU fan. If we beat WSU and OSU and lose respectably to Oregon, then we should earn a top ranking in the g5.

      I think we're going to beat Oregon state pretty bad oregon I think we can do it but we have to rely on our rushing game heavily. Chris Marshall just might be the separator though that helps us beat their corners plus LC coming back he was a better WR then Emac was imo.

    Excellent topic of discussion, the 12-team playoff and the Portal really add wrinkles we aren’t going to be prepared for as fans.

    Tulane has Oklahoma(away) and Kansas State(home) next year. Makhi Hughes(RB) rushed for over 1300 yrds 7 TD's and avg. 5+ Yds per carry last year, behind a banged-up O-line. Tulane had a ton of injuries last year, can't wait to see what a new year and some better luck vs the injury bug could mean for Tulane. Also I find the Mountain West to be a joke the past couple of years Boise is the best but of mid schools, what happen to Air force after week 7, and San Jose really. I know what it is people don't like the American because ever since its formation we have showed up and been in the conversation. I know "all those top teams left," well some of those new teams we added are super competitive. Rice and UAB battled Tulane to the wire last season. South Florida could have very easily been in the conference title picture had some things bounced there way. Also remember Tulane hasn't been this relevant in 90 years, but bringing it closer to now in 2021 they went 2-10, within one year turned it around to 12-2 and win in the cotton bowl over USC. Be honest Liberty never belonged as the group of five rep. that should have gone to SMU, they most likely would not have won against Oregon but it would have made for a much better and more competitive game. The American has more schools that can compete better in the way of NIL money, they just need the right people in place to manage the cash flow.
    If you don't think this next sentence means anything towards recruiting and perception, then stop reading and get some help. Tulane was consistently featured more on television this past year than any other G5 school, every week except for week 11 vs FAU that lone game was on ESPN+. Tulane is making WAVES and will ROLL into 2024 as a true power. #ROLLWAVE

      Quick question… if rivals granted the five star to Ty Thompson how is it that Tulane doesn’t get credited for a transfer of a five star?

    Boise returns 18 starters and not only has Nelson coming in but Chris Marshall. The MW is down, Tulane is mid and this shouldn’t be that hard for Boise. It’s going to be pretty obvious who’s the big dog when Boise rolls into Eugene and takes care of business

    So Tulane and Boise state, Two times with brand new quarterbacks and brand new head coaches? I realize BSU hired their Interim headcoach but he wasn't the coach at the start of last year. I get that the QBs are hyped up, but neither was good enough for the team thay recruited them. It's quite possible that could come in and dominate, but it's also possible that these guys were over hyped. Experience helps a lot in college and these guys just don't have it. Usually A quarterback makes the biggest strides between year one and year two. If having a good head, coach and good start in quarterback is the best formula, why not pick Memphis? They have a 4 year starting QB returning, a HC who has been there for 5.. They won 10 games last year, and beat a pretty good Iowa State team easy in their bowl game. Held them to ZERO yards rushing and return a lot of players. I would rather have the experience and pretty good talent than less experienced players who are supposed to be a little more talented. Until these players prove it, its just potential. We have seen in college football that experience matters and can trump talent.
    Also, until the MWC earns the G5 spot, I will keep the AAC ahead of it. When was the last time the MWC earned the spot? Over a decade ago? If there was ever a year for the mountain west to take the spot, it was last year. They to an incredible start, the AAC was down bc of teams leaving, and everyone but Boise St choked down the stretch and imploded.

  • @teacherjoe7019
    @teacherjoe7019 ปีที่แล้ว

    No HC is a wizard on the sideline. Talent and matchups may win games but HC's who find a way to make game plans that their assistants teach each and every week win consistently, becoming legends no matter if they can win on paper or not. They all know football but only a select few can make it all work out.

      @@BilltheTulaneGuyUntil the mountain west actually wins something, I will not pick them over the AAC. I think it's been over a decade since they've been the better conference. If there was ever a year for them to do it it was last year, But they all choked down the stretch except for boise state. Now the new teams in the a a c have experience and are starting to reap the benefits of being in a better conference. I figured it would take 3-4 years For the a a c to get back up to the level it was, But the second half of last year gave me a little Hope it may be quicker. You have to dethrone the champ, and the MWC still hasn't done that. Unfortunately for them, College football judges teams almost exclusively by the team(s) at the top. This could be the year, but the schedule for Boise St stay could be their undoing. I realize that conference u s a got the bid last year, But until the mountain west or Sunbelt takes the spot, I still consider the AAC the king of G5

      @@GR-bn3xj the best review from that perspective.
      I agree that the G5 mountain is knocking off the champ(P5 nominee).
      The availability of G5 playoff opportunity must not be wasted.

      @@BilltheTulaneGuy I am a Memphis fan, and excited for next year. If it's Memphis or Tulane or Boise, no matter the team, I will be cheering hard for them. But I would much prefer it to be an AAC team. Whoever gets that spot has got to put up a good game. I hope they pick the best team and not the team with the best record like they did this year. Memphis, Tulane and Boise all have tough out of conference games. I doubt any of them go undefeated, which could leave the door open for a conference USA team again. I said this in another comment but I'm worried that the committee wants to choose the less talented team so they don't do well, and in 2 years doesn't give the G5 their automatic spot based on two bad performances. I don't care if it's not Memphis, they need to pick the best team.
