He's playing these Ballades perfectly and not looking at the keys. All while speaking so softly. Complete madness

The most beautiful beginning of the third Ballade I ever heard...
Complete understanding of the music. He is very mature.
Beautiful legatos and use of pedal.
    Incredible dynamics, as always...

The fact that he just casually plays different excerpts of different balldes on the spot, all of them perfect, is amazing to me.

I love the way he reads the music of Chopin. Very glad to hear what he is thinking when playing the pieces. So lucky to know this pianist.

I would consider "the most charming part of Ballade" to be the message from heavens

Thank you, Seong-Jin for helping me understand the nature of a Ballade. Your mature mastery of this special music speaks for itself - you carry us away! I have this recording already, and this video helps me understand the music - and you - better than I ever did before. Play on!

DG should do more programs like this; the pianist explaining the personal interpretation on the piece since we rarely get a chance to hear Seong Jin talks as much as this 😅

"Chopin´s playing evoked all the sweet and sorrowful voices of the past. Chopin sang the tears of music...in a whole gamut of different forms and voices, from that of the warrior to those of children and angels..." Bohdan Zaleski, polish poet, personal diary 2 feb 1844.
"Under the fingers of Chopin´s hand the piano became the voice of an archangel, an orchestra, an army, a raging ocean, a creation of the universe, the end of the world." Solange Clesinger

Not everyone can be good at everything! I doubt Albert Einstein or Nikola Tesla were piano masters.
