Yeah we rescued our cat when he was a few months old and all he does is play/attack when i try to walk through my house the only time he rubs against me is after I feed him and he hasnt laid with me since 2 days after we rescued him
@@Patrick-jt3px Be patient. I used to be a dog person. But then I took in a stray cat...and many more over the years. The more affection you show them, the more they give in return. And since they're not pack animals, you know it's not an evolutionarily programmed obeisance to the alphas in the house; it's genuine affection.

my cat does all of this and as someone who lives in a home where I'm scared of my stepdad and my mom's a narcissist knowing my cat is only close to me while spending equal time with everyone at home is so relieving and makes me feel warm and special inside . I will never forget that she is the first living being that has ever made me feel so happy and grateful for having them in my life. I cry every time we spend alone time, cuddling, while she's purring a few inches away from me, because I really love her and don't know what I'd do if I lost her so soon

Chocolate Chip it wouldn't surprise me if cats CAN read.... they are soooo smart. All my cats I've had know what the doorknob does because they sit there and stare at it and meow at it when they want out (I can't let them out though.... I'm too overprotective) and 2 of my cats actually know how the doorknobs work and can open doors. Amazing critters they are!

You left out the slow blink. When a cat looks directly into your eyes while very slowly blinking theirs they are literally saying "I love you" with their eyes.

I know how painful it is to loose a pet. It’s a terrible and devastating feeling. I stayed in bed for almost a week without eating and even so it still hurts to loose my cat Nava. She was the sweetest. I’m sorry about Alvi. He was so adorable I wish I could kiss his nose haha I have four cats and one of them looks like Alvi same color and I kiss their noses all the time. I really love cats. I know Alvi is in a better place now completely healed. He was a very adorable little angel 😇
The loss of Alvi was very hard to swallow and certainly left a scar. Still we feel grateful we've had him around us for so many years. Wishing you and your furry friends all the best!🙏

Not coming is perfectly natural cat behavior ;) By the way: Alvi doesn't always come, but most of the times he will.
My first cat never came when called, but my current one is from a shelter and was really traumatised and when I finally got her to calm down and feel safe she became really dependent and attached to me so I just need to show my presence or make a certain noise and she'll come running. But she still won't come on my lap or groom me. Every cat is different and their life experience also determines how they'll show their love.
Cats are somehow like humans. They need their personal space. Just like introverts some cats most likely won't come with you, without a reason. And of course if you talk of cats like that I don't think the cat will ever approach you, and I don't blame the cat.

I saw your instagram page and am so sad to figure out that he has passed away :(, and it was so close to the day I lost my first cat, Baby (May 23, 2021). Baby also lived for almost 14 years (born in 2007). Glad that Baby and Alvi received so much love and affection from us. Sending love

I am actually crying! This reminds me of my first 3 babies..fur babies that is. They all lived to be 20 years old. When they passed away, when I was about 26 years old, I was truly devastated and depressed for about 2 years. I didn't fully recover until I found an abandoned 3 week old kitten in our garage. I brought her in, bottle fed her and she has been by my side ever since. She is now a healthy kitty! She is purrfect and i love her immensely. She loves me too.Thank you for the video! MEOW!

i've had my cat only 1 month. he's a stray. very clever. very affectionate. loves to climb on my buildings' fire escape. he follows my voice and comes to me even if he on 2 fire escapes away from me. he likes to sleep near me on my bed and keeps following me around my apartment - study, kitchen, bedroom, bathroom. i took him to the park and let him out. i wanted to see if he would run away or want to come back with me. he ran away at first - so much world to explore! i left him in the parrk for about 30 mins & came back. i called out to him, i heard a meow, i called again and the meow got louder. i called again and sw smoke run towards me through the tall grass. he followed me back to my shopping cart - like a dog, so i was able to pick him up and place him in the cart. that tells me he likes me and wants to be with me. (:

My cat almost followed me to my bus stop once. I walked out the door and Millie jumped onto the fence and watched me go down the stairs, she then proceeded to follow me not leaving the front yard. I got to the mail boxes(at the end of our big front lawn.) since it was new territory she hesitated for a moment and decided to brave walking past the mail boxes. She was very cautious but not scared, since she moved with cautious intent but she kept up with my pace lol. I let her walk over to me since I crouched down and stopped walking once I realized she wasn’t going to stop following me, I picked her up, and gave her to my dad who was running towards me in his PJs chasing after Millie. We never let Millie follow me again even though she wanted to since we live by a road. It may be a school zone but no drivers give an F about that, even when it is a school day, so we didn’t want her to get run over, or get lost. She is a very brave cat.(btw I took the bus to get to my middle/high school, the school zone drivers speed through was my elementary school)
We are fortunate to live in an apartment building: at the end of the access gallery there is a heavy door that we closed for Alvi to prevent him from following us any farther. It was mostly Laura he followed to school, and I used to call Alvi back directly after that door was closed before his nose. If I wouldn't do that, Alvi would wait for Laura at that door, with the risk that one of the neighbors would eventually open it and he would escape the building. Walking with him on the street with no leash is no option for us, as we live in a big city.

I usually have a cat following me on the street but he’s feral. He trusts me enough to follow me anywhere though.

Yeah, our cat let's me sleep there. Sometime he'll leave his bed while i'm there but then he'll jump back on and force me to play with him and his razor sharp claws, God I love him so much
Lol my cat sleeps on me or next to me like a sardine, answers and comes when I call her, headbutts me (hang on 4:36am put food in my dish order) rubs the side of her head on me (scent marking) all the dogs and furniture etc., Goes out side to use the bathroom and comes back in and goes to sleep, kneads me, stares in my eyes, lays on top of me and hugs me, purrs
@@sarahhengsteler9409 my late cat Fred (named for Freddy Kruger cuz he always played with his claws out) used to dream a lot when he slept. He'd vocalize, move his legs, but the cutest thing he'd do is nurse like a kitten. He was sound asleep but he'd be kneading with his front paws & making little sucking noises , putting all the while. He did it all his life. Once he had a bad nightmare. He jumped up looking surprised. He was growling & then he took like something awful was after him.

cats are more loving and intelligent than people understand, they just can't be broken and trained like dogs (or humans.) They can sense how you feel, sometimes better than you can. They are an alpha predator and/but they really do have a strong sense of family, not in a way of loyalty, but in a way of affection. For me, an unmistakable sign she loved me was when she brought me so many dead mice and birds I worried she'd upset the local ecosystem.

Exactly! They are discriminating! A cat can see the quality of your soul. It doesn't work to just "suck up " (please excuse the phrase!), they love only a few, and only those that have good intentions. Love for food and shelter is a dog thing, a cat's love is based upon your character.

I found a cat at a animal shelter, 3 months ago, named him Helios. He chose me, no joke, he rubbed against me, meowing and started to lick my leg until I picked him up, he started purring instantly and just fell asleep. When we got home, he followed me upstairs and laid against me, whenever I’d come home from school, he’ll run up to the door and wait for me, meowing until I come in, whenever I eat, Helios just sits beside me and purrs.
