The depiction of paranoia and your past really affecting your present self could not have been done better. This is what bullying and abuse does to people longterm. Genius fucking production... everything.
Not just that but how metal opens up your primal self and helps you to face those traumatic experiences and face them. Not to mention it fuels you and can have you do things that end up hurting you like metaphorically pouring gas on yourself and lighting up.
I cannot think of another video, movie or short film that describes so much about how heavy music works. The importance of community, the physicality, the layered emotional content, the cathartic potential of surrendering to it all. Brilliant brilliant video guys. That was spot on.
The setup in the video is incredible. And they show the mental release you experience in the pit in an amazing way. Sometimes there are things in your mind that you've got to destroy, and the pit is a great place to do it.
I relate with this. My step dad constantly hit me, mostly to get out his frustrations from his work and satisfy my controlling mother. I faced constant fear and would flinch when people came near me. Bullies loved to make me flinch and laugh. I trained that into intense reflexes in videogames and operating heavy machinery. I also became a kickboxer. When bullies see my trained reflexes now, they step back just the way I like it. So I gained a lot of self confidence, focus on not having to fight people, and manage my anger with music, positive thinking, self help, self esteem, and self control. When life gives you lemons, make lemonade. 🍋 Now the challenge is not to become an abuser and to forgive my parents.
"You know, I've been thinking. . . When life gives you lemons, don't make lemonade. Take the lemons back. Get mad! Tell life "I don't want your DAMN lemons. What am I suppose to do with these?!" I Prevail is absolutely perfect and no one will EVER change my mind. Their story is absolutely inspirational. This band literally sings to my heart. You guys are amazing keep making music that makes you happy!
A 7 minute video for the shortest song on the album...damn. Edit: Just watched the whole thing. Fucking phenomenal job once again. Love these videos. Edit 2: Wow, I've never gotten this many likes. Thank you! 😁
It's actually funny because I related to that moment so hard. I was wondering where they were going with this. I feel like this is more a shout out to those of us who use shows as our escape. Or at least that moment is.
Never heard of this band. Clicked in the video on a whim and I guess it was suggested to me since I'm a fan of metal. This music video is a masterpiece. Don't know if that's a real condition or not. Don't even know if that has any significance to anyone in the band. But that was fkn beautiful. The build up, the visual release at the end, this is what metal is to me. Watched this a handful of times already... love it.
Dude.. if you ever get the chance to see them live FUCKING DO IT! They do not disappoint in the least. Excellent energy. Excellent stage presence. Can't wait to see them again.
If I ever met Daz I’d really want to give him a hug. You’d never think he has went through that with his dad by watching and listening to him he is such a happy well rounded person
Lost for words... 98% of people have no idea of things in this video and have not truly experienced the hardships or wished for death during them. As a daily daily reminder I look at my scars and remember the experiences I have survived thru and I'm amazed. Yalls music has helped me thru many days.... keep it up
Fuck you and thinking that many people don't experience any trauma or something like this. Rather presumptuous and naive to believe that only 2% of people would know this.
@John Doe Along with Ice Nine Kills, they truly are the gold of this genre in it's current state, sure there are a ton of metalcore bands that are extraordinary right now but these 2 bands make consistently unique and awesome songs.
@@KallionUsedToWrestle Hell yeah. I think I got nauseated a bit when he was getting his face pounded in, definitely an image that's permanently burned into my brain but still a great song.

Ya, my father hates this kind of music, he refers to it as angry noise, but, for those of us who has suffered, it soothes, like a balm. The chaos of the music mirrors the chaos in our own lives, and strangely enough, just like the eye of a hurricane is completely still, stillness is found in the center of the sonic storm. I don't expect other people to understand though, only those bent and broken by life's trauma would identify.
Guys, thank you for your music and especially for your creativity that supports people in vulnerable position. You show that they are normal too. I've been fighting depression for many years. In my country there's a social stigma attached to it, nobody believes it is a disease, people just think you are a whiner. And you are all alone with your problems, you hate yourself for your weakness and inability to fight. I've found a huge part of my life in your music and videos, and a lot of support. Thank you very much.
I sing Bleed it Out too BUT this is one of my favorite I Prevail songs and this video is freaking awesome. I accept that I like similar sounding music so I don't mind if I hear those similarities in any my bands. Lol Be like me complaining all my pizzas taste like pepperoni when I only eat pepperoni pizzas. 🤷♀️ Hell Shinedown sings "Get up" in an instrumental part of "Special" coz they knew I was gonna do it if they didn't and I'm fine with that. Lol I'm always told by folks my music all sounds the same so I bust out some Attila and laugh my ass off at their reaction then! Don't assume my genre. 😁❤ Love to all my musicians and their hardwork. Do what you do and "f**k what they say, F**k everything!" 🤘 (no maliciousness was intended with this reply) 🤘❤
Facts. at times you need rap to feel hyphy, country for being sad, pop to feel good, and sometimes you just need to straight up rage to some good metal
I dealt with mental and physical abuse from one of my ex’s and this whole video gave me chills. Great cinematography, music and overall sound, it just made me look back and see how much I’ve truly grown. Thank you for this.
Same here except it's not my ex and is my moms, I've been having trouble sleeping though because of it, I'm sure the video is really good and has good messages but I get scared and cant watch the intro.
Well I understand that completely, I hope you get the comfort you deserve. It may sound redundant from friends or others but stay strong, and positive. Things will turn up and then you too can look back on it. Maybe talk it out with other family members or me if you’d like I’m always available.
Literally after dealing with PTSD for so long in my life. There is nothing better then Screaming it out. Honestly and this is a great song to do it to. So many people dismiss this as "something that just happens" No! that's not what it is. It manifests in so many ways. Images, Hallucination, Physical hallucinations, Altering of ones life significantly, Or the Halting of ones life due to the fear of it happening again, Night terrors, Day terrors, and often de-ja-vu This band put a spotlight on something no one wants to talk about. and sadly it still fell n def ears.
I can relate to this man my dad use to beat me I remember when I was 11 he held me up by my neck at the of the steps of my childhood home, I didn't give in to fear, I worked out, I've developed my mind to were I became a cnc programmer .... Without college because forget if my dad saved money for me to do so... And what gets me the most he made me go to church til I was 16 and left when I was 18 .... He didn't make me weak but he didn't make me strong either... Because I already was.
Mine started when I was 8. I trained in many different fighting styles & fractured his eye socket, threw him down stairs and made him wish he never did me like he did. Honestly in hind sight no matter how you handle it will never be fully ok even though you feel strong it will always be with you. That's the point of this.
That last line maaaaaan. none of the people I've been hurt by was physically abusive, but they still were, just mentally. Specially my dad. He would attack you until you ended up believing you were at fault. I wanted to kill myself. Told him several times that he scared me, that I didn't want to be with him because he made me fell bad about myself, stuff like that, and he would ignore my feelings. Would shame me when I apologized for things bc "I would repeat my mistakes, so I'm not trustworthy", and if i didn't apologize "I am selfish, narcissistic". My demons would speak to me in his voice. I'm still alive because at the end, I saw the truth. It's not my fault. It never was. I'm going to be happy. I don't need him. I'm still alive and every day I keep burning those demons. He sent me to hell, what he didn't think is that I'd end up ruling it.
My heart goes out to anyone who has suffered physical or mental abuse from their parents. I couldn't imagine what that's like. I genuinely pray that God would heal you of any pain they caused you, and deliver you from all fear and paranoia from your trauma, that Jesus would fill you with the peace that surpasses all understanding, and that your life be perfected in the perfect love that casts out all fear, the love of Jesus Christ. God bless you all.
Please keep your religion to yourself. I am alive without any heaven or hell, these are places that do not exist for me. This live is what shall be heaven or hell, whatever I make out of it. What's next? Well nothing, maybe. Maybe another life, maybe something even you cannot imagine.
@@stilles342 O can't keep to myself what God has shown me and given to me, which He offers to everyone. If you don't believe in Him than that's fine, but just know that I would never ridicule you for your beliefs, and it's people like you that I will continue to pray for and show love to.
@@benbasoco7436 Ok, stop doing that. I consider religion to be a private thing. Do not involve me in these things. Do not involve people in anything you didn't ask permission for in the first place. Do not force-feed your belief onto other people, even if it is just praying for them without them knowing it. Show love, definitely, be kind and generous and open-minded. That's a universally good thing. But please do not assume anyone else wants to be included in your prayers, which are part of your belief. Fun fact: Christianity killed hundreds of thousands of people wrongfully just for not accepting their beliefs. Don't be like that. Christianity can be very insulting to people (just by proven historical facts and figures) who do not agree with it.
@@stilles342 you know what religion does kill lots of people today? Radical Islamic believers, aka terrorists. But I don't hate people who are Islamic. So why hate me for loving you? I'm not insulted by your beliefs on it, why does it insult you? Would you say the same thing to someone who believes in horoscopes? Would you say that to a Buddhist? If you didn't want to be involved you could've just ignored me, you didn't have to say anything, but you hating on me for this got you involved whether you like it or not. Not everyone feels the way you do about this. Plenty of people would be willing to accept prayer. It's okay if you don't. But you don't speak for everyone. My offer for prayer will still be available.
I even hate loud sounds, they make me nervous and anxious, like loud exhaust on a bike or car or people yelling... Whatever, but metal is so all encompassing, it envelopes me in sound and levels everything and becomes paradoxically calming. Some can even be meditative for me. Rambling, sorry. Not sure why I'm sharing that, was just inspired by your comment.
@@glenmchargue5461 exact same with me dude! even when my friends or parent are arguing or yelling always makes me anxious, but like you said screams and growls in metal are not annoying in fact their even enjoyable to listen cause they're connected to the lyrics...just like this song i mean who would enjoy a song with this lyrics if it was all rapping or melodic singing? the thing that give it kick and emotion and let the anger and the rage goes is the screaming

I was singing this under my breath in my work, but then i remembered i work at an airport and people could freak out

Edit: Just watched the whole thing. Fucking phenomenal job once again. Love these videos.
Edit 2: Wow, I've never gotten this many likes. Thank you! 😁
that's the fact
Wish the song would be a bit longer.
It's actually funny because I related to that moment so hard. I was wondering where they were going with this. I feel like this is more a shout out to those of us who use shows as our escape. Or at least that moment is.
Actually, Goodbye (Interlude) is the shortest song 😁

Never heard of this band. Clicked in the video on a whim and I guess it was suggested to me since I'm a fan of metal.
This music video is a masterpiece. Don't know if that's a real condition or not. Don't even know if that has any significance to anyone in the band. But that was fkn beautiful. The build up, the visual release at the end, this is what metal is to me. Watched this a handful of times already... love it.
Justin Pearson and they say metals dead lol this shit was fucking awesome saw them live in May and it was phenomenal!
Dude.. if you ever get the chance to see them live FUCKING DO IT! They do not disappoint in the least. Excellent energy. Excellent stage presence. Can't wait to see them again.

Yeah
Back from the dead to tell you that I'm alive
Killed the old way but I survived
Fuck the blueprint, I redesign
Death or exile, you decide
Tell 'em all that I made my name
Tell 'em all that I paved my way
Found the fear then went face to face
Now it's mine to send up in flames
'Cause this right here is as far as you go
This right here is where I lose control
This right here is as far as you go
Burn it all down, burn it all down
I don't give a fuck
Burn it all down, burn it to the ground
Feed the flames, go insane
And burn it all down, burn it all down
Fuck what they say, fuck everything
Light the match, gasoline
Kill it all, kill everything
And burn it all down, burn it all down
Nothin' but red inside when I close my eyes
Vision built that you can't deny
Born and bred to take back what's mine
Break or bow down, you decide
Tell 'em all that you can't be saved
Tell 'em all that you dug this grave
Learn to live in this mess you made
Now it's mine to send up in flames
'Cause this right here is as far as you go
This right here is the end of the road
This right here is as far as you go
So burn it all down, burn it all down
I don't give a fuck
Burn it all down, burn it to the ground
Feed the flames, go insane
And burn it all down, burn it all down
The time is up
There's no return
Fuck them all
Watch them burn
Yeah, 'cause I don't give a fuck
Fuck what they say, fuck everything
Light the match, gasoline
Kill it all, kill everything
And burn it all down, burn it all down

Some people don't understand that I find music like this soothing and can go to sleep listening to it the same way people relax to the sound of rain.
Me too
Ya, my father hates this kind of music, he refers to it as angry noise, but, for those of us who has suffered, it soothes, like a balm.
The chaos of the music mirrors the chaos in our own lives, and strangely enough, just like the eye of a hurricane is completely still, stillness is found in the center of the sonic storm.
I don't expect other people to understand though, only those bent and broken by life's trauma would identify.
Can confirm, during Gasoline, the mosh pits really are this wild. :D

Ok the opening made me cry. 😭😭😭❤❤🤘
honestly it tilted the shit out me in the inside
Bruh. My heart.
Who came from the vid Daz done 15 minutes ago

Ben Basoco thank you
@@stilles342 O can't keep to myself what God has shown me and given to me, which He offers to everyone.
