    Agreed. This gnarly huck of a trick has never been de-throned.

    Haffey is simply insane!
    Kudo’s to Cyril Daniel that have done a couple of legendary spot as well, less knows is a 540 disaster AO top acid on a down rail, it is simply insane, clip is findable on daily motion and it is to this day one of the most insane trick I have ever seen! He did land it street and park too!

      Oh yes there are a lot of underrated European skaters!! not that I can do either trick, but I think it would be much easier for me to do a fakie 720 kindgrind then a 540 disaster AO top acid! Daniel is a Legend. I’ll have to find that clip and maybe do a spotlight on it.

    Hard to argue with Chris Haffey being the GOAT. I'd say there's a great argument for Farmer as well.

    • @flyingonblades
      @flyingonblades  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes Farmer and Franky Morales because they never really fell off. They are still going hard. Longevity is important. Anyone can come into a sport and get hot for two or three years but legends kill it for decades

    That rail is kinda low though. Not so low that you can do anything on it but low enough that I was switching my tricks up on it. I was there for both tricks that 2nd one was so crazy. The first one was special though. One because it’s was the first documented 720 grind , but a couple months before that daily bread asked sagona were he thought rollerblading was going and dom said 720 kindginds.

      Thanks for the insight! I’ve never been to skatebarn. It looks high on all of the videos but Haffey is on the shorter side :P
      I understand the significance of the first 720 kg. It just drives me crazy that no one even talks about the second. It took me like an hour to even find the footage!

      It definitely is low at the beginning. But it gets higher towards the end where he landed 😂.

    I personally would put him as #1 currently if not ever. It is tough to compare to some like Feinberg, Dustin Latimer, or Brian Shima in their prime for some I would say. I mean there are tech wizards that can match some level like the Kelso's but I would say he has it all.

    • @flyingonblades

      Haffey was undeniably, considered the greatest of all time for a good 10 to 15 year period…. However, in my opinion, longevity is a factor and at this point, it’s a tossup between Chris Farmer and Frankie Morales. Haffey was born in 1985 and there are several skaters that were born in the same era that have been skating at a pro level for like 25 years solid. He seems to have moved on from blading unfortunately. Either that or maybe it’s just the fact that he moved to Australia, he’s so far out of the limelight that we don’t know what he’s doing.

    you should check out the 540 kind grind to top mistrial that farmer does on the airborne rail in the IMYTA sessions edit. to me it’s the greatest trick ever done and so similar to this.

    haffey is the GOAT to me

    • @flyingonblades
      @flyingonblades  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes Definitely Haffey is the man! Franky Morales would have to be a close second. He’s been a top tier pro even today. He’s almost 40 and skates just like he did in 2001. Longevity is important... a lot of people who are considered the greatest are kind of disqualified in my eyes because they prematurely quit(they thought they were too old at 25 lol)

      @@flyingonblades i have to say that he gets the vote of GOAT for me because of the huge gaps, however farmer, stockwell are hot on his heels (again my own small view).
      I can't do Franky, just on the looks..sorry. That GAWDS2 video they put out recently, i couldn't watch more than 3 mins.

    I'm not sure you can say Chris Haffey will "undoubtedly" end up as the greatest ever. There is an argument for that, and I may even think that as well. But you've got guys like Brian Aragon, Brian Shima, Alex Broskow, etc. I don't think it's objectively Chris Haffey.

    • @flyingonblades
      @flyingonblades  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes there are several different factors to consider. You are correct. Frankly Morales and Chris Farmer are up there too!

    To me, the best trick of all time is the Broskow's 540 through the tree, in KFC3
    th-cam.com/video/wKIU7E-sjR4/w-d-xo.html
    The Fakie 720 kind grind is in my top 3, with the Aragon's fakie 540 top soul on a full handrail.
