TME and ELENA LIGHT. The music of Mr. Richard Wagner is one I like most among Classical Music. It is full of force and convey the filling of that force to the people. Greetings to you both. THU, JUNE 4, 2015.
One of the best things about classical music is that its meaning belongs to the listener alone. I am not German and have no interest in German culture, language or history, and frankly the literary meaning of Wagner's operas are of little concern to me. But the music is incredible! It fills me with awe, it calms me down, it takes my imagination to lands far beyond the scope of the present. In other words, one listens to classical music because of the craftsmanship itself. I've always had a penchant for the dark and the grandiose, which is why Wagner's works click with me more so than those of many other composers. It drives you to action, with the more relaxed compositions serving as a breathing room before the next epic can take place. It's a journey for the truly demanding mind and as a perfectionist myself, I relate to the themes that these operas are undoubtedly meant to invoke. Greetings from Poland.
Incidentally, that music is the reason why Die Walkure The Valkyries is the one of Wagner's operas that is used as a filler of most opera seasons. Without having to stage a very expensive and costly Ring Cycle. All four lots of classical fans know Rode of the Valkyries or Walkurenritt off the top of their heads it's very recognizable.

I don't know why people have to bring in politics when they discuss music, especially Wagner's music.I don't care a tinker's cuss if he liked or disliked Jews, Frenchmen or Hottentots. His operas were outstanding. I have never heard anything more stirring than The Ride of the Valkyries and anything more poignant than the Todeslied from Tristan und Isolde
Well, Wagner was very political, and his music can often reflect those views. It also doesn't help that a certain notorious political leader adored Wagner's music which has left a bad connotation for some listeners. For instance, his music is still banned in Israel as far as I know. So, there is some relevance in discussing politics in relation to Wagner and his works.
+Eorzat "his music can often reflect those views." -- How does this music reflect those views? What are those views? Please, tell me what part of this music reflects damning views and how such orchestration can be juxtaposed onto political discourse. Who cares what a notorious leader liked or dislike?
+Jakub Libner I'm glad you mentioned it--but its not really 'trivia' for a well read music reader but very well known....Lizst, by the way, influenced Wagner's music rather than the other way around--His relationship to his future son in law (only 4 yrs his junior) was complex--
C.S. Lewis loved listening to Richard Wagner. Wagner's music helped him imagine far off lands and exotic situations, leading to his writing of the Chronicles of Narnia and other classics.
Richard Wagner, is a brilliant composer, his music, reflect, touches my conscience, his music is magic!!!!!!!!!!. The Best, in his time, genius i dare to say!.
Classical music in transmitting the voice and vision of the soul about the things that are and that are not of this world, it transcends what is said in words, is pure emotion sublime and true, that's my opinion.
AS 🇦🇷
+Lukas Hofstätter , Yes, he's very well known, but take for example composers (stravinsky, ravel, satie....), critics, and many others: all of them think Richard Wagner's masterpieces are decadent, awful and boring operas. So, he is underrated!
@1:02:38 That, that right there has consistently sent a chill down my spine since my earliest memories of listening to the Tannhauser saga with my grandfather. There is something both haunting and majestic about it - the choice between staying within a paradise unparalleled, or returning back to the grim realities of the world in which one's duties and obligations take center-stage; it is perhaps the most stringent point of the human experience - to indulge one's baser feelings, or to uphold one's self to a higher standard. Also, those french horns blaring invoke something primal within my spirit every time!

Who wrote this and what poem?
@@ketketzer4075 He wrote them himself, he is also the author.

Can't wait to play this again!
Grandiose, sublime. Merci.
J'aimerai toujours Wagner.
Richard Wagner............
Bonne nuit.
Richard Wagner Loooook, you have a fan!!! :D
Niccolò Paganini Bocciardo Yes ! Thank you.
Wagner's trivia: he married Liszt's daughter. Liszt himself liked his pieces so much he performed as conductor to promote the composer.
+Jakub Libner I'm glad you mentioned it--but its not really 'trivia' for a well read music reader but very well known....Lizst, by the way, influenced Wagner's music rather than the other way around--His relationship to his future son in law (only 4 yrs his junior) was complex--
I can see the Valkyries horse riding. Love it
AS 🇦🇷
How can someone not appreciate Wagner. Stirs my soul and I am nowhere close to being German.
Essa foi ótima.
C.S. Lewis loved listening to Richard Wagner. Wagner's music helped him imagine far off lands and exotic situations, leading to his writing of the Chronicles of Narnia and other classics.
Sehr ansprechende Zusammenstellung, vielen Dank!!!!
I am so sorry for ignoring wagner music for such a long time. too late in my life I now recognice the geniues he was.sorry Richard.

"I love the smell of Napalm in the morning...It smells like..victory".
great wagner ... great music .. thank you ...
Richard Wagner was a supernova of musical talent.
yes and also one of the most reviled men ever to walk this planet. True he was a raging rabid anti-Semite but his music wasn't

Wagner's music is great nice coordinación and sound
I'm writing an essay about Handel and listening to Wagner at the same time. #thuglife

Wagner, Bach y Beethoven... La mas pura grandeza musical alemana.
Richard Wagner, is a brilliant composer, his music, reflect, touches my conscience, his music is magic!!!!!!!!!!. The Best, in his time, genius i dare to say!.
Classical music in transmitting the voice and vision of the soul about the things that are and that are not of this world, it transcends what is said in words, is pure emotion sublime and true, that's my opinion.
awesome works, greeting from turkey.
simply fabulous. a world treasure
Christine Rauwolf
Inspirational strength from an immortal creator. Thanks for the post.
AS 🇦🇷
Wagner is the most underrated composer ever. Such a genius deserves a place among the supreme creators in western civilization.
+Miguel García he's not underrated. he's very well-known
+Lukas Hofstätter , Yes, he's very well known, but take for example composers (stravinsky, ravel, satie....), critics, and many others: all of them think Richard Wagner's masterpieces are decadent, awful and boring operas. So, he is underrated!

That, that right there has consistently sent a chill down my spine since my earliest memories of listening to the Tannhauser saga with my grandfather.
+Gustauve Drakenhime No fear! At original opera version Tannhauer returns back with Venus. ;)
Glory to Wagner, his music is the soul of the Vaterland.
Of course!
Leave the VATERLAND out of describing Wagner's music ! - It smacks of NAZI like Nationalistic Pride !
musique sublime merveilleuse merci beaucoup...bonne soiree a tous..
Independently from other issues, a very great composer.
@Sat Sal His (based) takes on jewelry.
masterful work. Blessed are we for this great man
i love wagner
his songs have meaning
Excellent.Thanks for uploading
I used to Wagner on tv when I was a kid, it was called Hart to Hart, didn't know he wrote some tunes as well, awesome.
Thank you so much for this wonderful selection!

An unparalleled, singular genius.
The king of music drama
Is it me or am I right in thinking that Wagner was a huge influence on John Williams.
Listen to Gustav Holst.
Williams said, if I'm not mistaking, that Wagner, Tchaikovsky, Holst, Beethoven, and Mozart are some of his inspirations.
Prokofiev missing? how odd...
Wagner is an inspiration for all the composers of the XX Century
Williams está muy influenciado por Wagner. Y suena muy bien
