      Same. It tweaked me to learn of his sentiment of that tune after his death.
      Down payment blues is epic, but then so is all of Powerage.

    I must say with all due Respect ! To have Eddie Van Halen say that your Riffs in a song makes him feel the Raw Power in what your doing most certainly is a huge compliment to anyone... He has inspired and revolutionized not only the Way a guitar can be played but also how music its self can be arranged unlike anyone before him or after, still to this day,,, Simply put, music wouldn't be what it is today without him doing what he done better then anyone alive

      Absolutely is the best Bon Scott era tune...the was the last AC/DC album I got (about 20 years ago) that is the most powerful guitar song of the 70's...especially right after the solo

  • @bookerswhiskey3509
    @bookerswhiskey3509 2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

    First of all. When non musicians ask what is it about those riffs that are so inspiring, a real musician can’t fully explain because it’s an unexplained feeling. It’s all emotion during that piece of work.
    But. Musicians just get it. When Eddie held his arms out. We felt it. Rip Eddie.

    This made me happy to see Eddie talking like he's still a kid. I get like this over great music and I'm 50. I was afraid after I recovered from addiction that the passion would die, because my emotions were dead for a time. But once I was detoxed and started running, then replaced deadly, delicious heroin with kratom, I get excited again to hear AC/DC, KISS, Miles Davis, The Flying Burrito Brothers, Van Halen, Merle Haggar, Smokey Robinson, The Spinners: I love it all.

    OK guys, ionteresting video, but you asked him specifically about favourite *riffs*. But then when he names the songs, you _don't_ play the parts of the songs with the riff but you play the _guitar solo_ part. Where the riff is barely audible or not present. That makes no sense.
