The First Order Army defends using riot shields against a civilian uprising. Can the first order riot troopers defend in a shield wall formation against the revolt? This was made using the Men of War Assault Squad 2 Star Wars galaxy at war mod battle simulator with the first order army expansion.

The last storm troopers just a chewbacca come out of no where and just shoots a rocket into the area
The Geonosian blaster was mentioned. Note that these blasters do more fatal damage than it appears. The shots don’t burn a hole straight through you, they were made to liquify your insides.

That little gap in the wall made it easy for the Resistance to see that group of First Order troops and grenade them.

I think it was the right decision to squad them up :)
A chokepoint (no native speaker so dunno if thats spelled right), shouldnt be only effective, when AI plays like dumb cowards, dying one after another instead of swarming the point.
And I would have been sad, when the first order won bec. of that. Sometimes its fine to see that kinda thing happen, when the numbers of the atackers are wayyy too high and so the battle gets and feels closer. But in this situation it just wouldnt be fun to watch.
I think it can be interesting if you got a fortress siege with more entrances and some of them can be hold bec. of the chokepoints. But if you got only 1 way its frustrating to watch the atackers gaining no progress at all :D

Go ahead and have the squad up. Its a limitation of the software that they don't do that on their own. As you said they logically would.

I read the title and I got very exited but I would do the same
Realistically Idk they may squad up but they way they are presented I think before the squad up was far more realistic cause they are not all trained soldiers, not all effective fighters so yeah I feel that would be normal if there wasn't so much plot armor but whats fun about that all the time
