LYRICS The workdays were propping the bar quietly erasing the week and I was in a Corner-booth thinking (pretending to read) about the impossibility of one to love Unconditionally and the words that we drive into the ground, their repetition Starts to thin their meaning. Then everything got frighteningly still as they entered and intersected the Floor and I tried to choke my stare at the perfection that others would kill for. But all of the parts are the same on every face (few variables change). The differences pale when compared to the similarity they share Finally there is clarity and there is purpose after all, but every night ends The same as I'm collapsing once more by your side. Finally there is clarity, this tiny life is making sense. And every drop numbs the both of us, but I alone am staggering
@@errmoc5682 Valid observation. Im in my late 20’s but listened to their discography in my early teenager years. This one was a repeat album for me so I look at it very fondly.
maybe my fave DCFC album, and this at the end of it is awesome...the singing is crazy great...and then they slip into the ending after " but I alone, am staggering"...such a great album...
they had a streak of amazing albums; in some ways I thought like REM did in the early 80's. Lot of bands may put out 2 or 3 good albums but they had 7 or 8 in a row that were transcendental.
Is that a farfisa organ? See 2:40 for a more isolated portion. I replayed this song today just to hear the part of the chorus at 0:51 where it switches up the tone (there has to be a technical term for that, but I'm ignorant of it). I love it!

Couldn't agree more. Old death cab is as magic as sad can be
One of their best in my opinion. :DD That outro does it
One of my top 10 death cab songs because I like exciting songs but this is more later back and I like that about this one.
Finally, there is clarity.....
This tiny life is making sense
Life's so big that I'm unclear, but old death cab stays putting out bangers. This song is so good
One of the best outros of all time
Picture perfect fadeout
This album is so so so good
Amazing.
Such a great album
Reminds me of being 15 and in love... kind of miss those good old highschool days (though, they weren't perfect).

Yah, I think it is. I know the sound very well from listening to Stereolab records lol.
@@wlouisharris Stereolab, yeah!
Yessss
Still have to buy this, "Plans" and "Narrow Stairs." Their masterpiece, of course, is "Transatlanticism."
No, it's this.
Autumn, I welcome your chill with open arms.
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Love the exit
1 more album left to finish now
This is a very nice album. But are they always this mellow on their other albums?
I enjoyed The Photo Album. ⭐⭐⭐⭐
reminds me of modest mouse.
I love both
Add this to "Transatlanticism," "Plans," "Narrow Stairs" and "KIntsugi" as their best albums.
In hindsight, Kintsugi was amazing
what makes this the deluxe version???
It’s the deluxe version of the album cause it has acoustic, live, dubs, and demos of other songs
