Talented youngsters are available in every nook and corners of the State. So, the NCA should be organizing proper tournaments in each and every corners of the state, not only in Dimapur. I hope sufficient funds or grants are sanctioned by BCCI for such tournaments. On recent events for selection process under 19 we noticed a kid (naga mother and non-naga father) was not selected solely due to his reasoning that he is not a naga. Many commentators have been complaining about Hokaito Zhimomi and Jonathan Rongsen and truth be told that their replacement in the Nagaland team is yet to be found. Jonathan why??? Because he still has the skill, the talent and the experience to lead the team. Hokaito why??? Because if you check out the statistics from the last inter district tournament then he was the only reliable performing individual scoring runs and converting them into big total for his district. I am amused that the commentators here have rather resorted to name shaming instead of mentioning worthwhile ideas to improve our game of cricket. Under hidden names and agendas mud slinging isn't rare for a Naga anymore. Calling names whilst hiding under made up names because 'you and i' we both know that we are not saints but habituated to playing with corruption as the main dish. All i know is i know some great bowler player but he isnt from their favoured tribe so he never gets his potential chance to play. So i guess it has some biased selection process. A player gets above lakh rupees per match on national level.

Even if Nagaland team perform bad in any tournament under any category we must try to select or give chance to our Local Talents only. If our local talents are not given chance then how can they perform well or improve. I don't get any logical in his explanation. Cricket is a game where 'form' is very important. Even if one is good and talented if he/she don't practice regularly or get hold of bat and ball for some weeks then to get back to form is difficult. The players have to be consistent. If you don't select the locals and let them play/give them chance in next season they will perform same during selection..(just curious to know what is constituted in the selection board's constitution). If the board just cant ignore non locals then Just select 3 non local players and 8 local players in each category team. That will be fair enough.
..... It doens't mean that the Players who have being playing since 2018 should be selected just because he is a senior player... There are young fresh players who are playing much more better then the Old Senior players...... So the Old senior players shouldn't feel bad because they have been not selected.... And also to Selectors and the Coaches please don't just select the players who have been playing since 2018... Whether Senior or Fresh players they should be selected according to their Play.....

Very very sad maaaan!! Cricket is very lucrative, expensive, popular in India. The Richest Cricket Board in India is BCCI. The richest cricket league in the world is IPL. Yet, we couldn't make it to the mark. Football is more Popular in Nagaland. Nagaland had and have produced some good footballer in India to some extend. If we have the right guidance and a proper and staunch authority/head of NCA, then cricket will be the most Lucrative Sports outclassing the popularity of Football in Nagaland (Not defaming Football player's though) But in Cricket we still need more and more to go. Still we have only one player from North East to play in IPL and also made his debut in International cricket representing India. And it's non other than Riyan Parag from Assam.

Please sponsor tournament for different districts atleast once in a year in order to stick cricket lovers for the love of cricket. Because when only there is district tournament organised by NCA at sovima, players doesn't come up to play directly for inter district tournament because in grassroots level they are losing cricket players because of 'No tournament, no interest, no upcoming players'. Only the senior players are left in many districts where as the youngsters have no interest because there is no club tournament in respective district. Thank you
Nagaland will never go ahead in cricket. I have experience playing for the dimapur district this year in inter district tournament, it was just a horrible journey for me . The coach itself told that whoever comes to the practice session will be selected for the tournament so i went and practice all the practicing day. And after doing all the practice and hardwork we had . On the match day the coach call up some players from under 16 and put them in place of us we were not even included in the squad.. and the most funny things is that the coach ask back our jersey to give to those under 16 players. 😢😢

Cricket is all about 'Form' , even if one is talented if he/she doesn't practice on a regular basis he/she will lose form. And to practice regularly/ perform well one have to be selected or given a chance. You can't simply come to any conclusion without giving a chance. Last time I watched the district level cricket tournament and I have witnessed many locals performing well. It's just that they don't get a chance or opportunity .

Nagaland Cricket team is the best performing team if we look into the NorthEast Scenario (minus Assam and Tripura who are miles ahead of us) and if the commentators here who are bothered about the posture of the Hon.secy has been following the game of cricket then its without a doubt that Nagaland Cricket has improved leaps and bound since getting recognised and affiliated with the BCCI in the year 2018.
Many commentators have been complaining about Hokaito Zhimomi and Jonathan Rongsen and truth be told that their replacement in the Nagaland team is yet to be found.

Even if Nagaland team perform bad in any tournament under any category we must try to select or give chance to our Local Talents only. If our local talents are not given chance then how can they perform well or improve. I don't get any logical in his explanation. Cricket is a game where 'form' is very important. Even if one is good and talented if he/she don't practice regularly or get hold of bat and ball for some weeks then to get back to form is difficult. The players have to be consistent. If you don't select the locals and let them play/give them chance in next season they will perform same during selection..(just curious to know what is constituted in the selection board's constitution). If the board just cant ignore non locals then Just select 3 non local players and 8 local players in each category team. That will be fair enough.

There are young fresh players who are playing much more better then the Old Senior players...... So the Old senior players shouldn't feel bad because they have been not selected.... And also to Selectors and the Coaches please don't just select the players who have been playing since 2018... Whether Senior or Fresh players they should be selected according to their Play.....

Please sponsor tournament for different districts atleast once in a year in order to stick cricket lovers for the love of cricket. Because when only there is district tournament organised by NCA at sovima, players doesn't come up to play directly for inter district tournament because in grassroots level they are losing cricket players because of 'No tournament, no interest, no upcoming players'. Only the senior players are left in many districts where as the youngsters have no interest because there is no club tournament in respective district.

Nagaland will never go ahead in cricket. I have experience playing for the dimapur district this year in inter district tournament, it was just a horrible journey for me . The coach itself told that whoever comes to the practice session will be selected for the tournament so i went and practice all the practicing day. And after doing all the practice and hardwork we had . On the match day the coach call up some players from under 16 and put them in place of us we were not even included in the squad.. and the most funny things is that the coach ask back our jersey to give to those under 16 players. 😢😢
