excellent review Tom! man, i'm in love with that presentation! gorgeous! we smelled Leather Oud once and didnt love it...but then again, it had oud in it, so we were already biased. lol. we need to give this another chance.
I just bought Mitzah at the Saks on Wisconsin Avenue in Chevy Chase, MD. They have the whole range there, including Leather Oud. Thanks for this video!
This is a brilliant scent. The first one that has gotten me compliments from strangers in years. So many perfume houses are doing oud fragrances. The price/quality ratio is a steal. I have put several fragrances aside since I found this. At the moment Mitosuko Leather Oud and Amouage Jubilation 25 are in my wardrobe. There is no need for others. Would love a travel size version of this.
Good review! On my first sniff I took my hand holding the paper as far away from me as i could, lol. I was shocked! But the next morning I was smelling something wonderful and it came from that little paper on the table. I got a 1oz deccant, and love it. Yes very animalistic, lion is a good reference but also elegant and sofisticated. Sensual too and addictive. Strong and longlasting what else do you need.
Thanks Dan! I now have this one, Bois, and Vetiver. I like Granville. One of the best lines out there for the money. Cologne Royal struck me as ultra traditional.
Tom, coincidentally the SaksFifthAvenue on Michigan ave has the entire line with a small space exclusively dedicated to Dior on the women's side but some frags are on the men's side across the street
Leather Oud is beastly! I got 10ml from Wallystinx a cpl months ago, terrific review Tom, enjoyed The Verve in there, I hadn't heard that song in a long time! Your really making a name for yourself in the reviewing game, excellent work! :)
I'm pretty sure I remember them having the Bois, however the DHI don't think so. It's a small shop and they just have a few random frags on the desk there
I have a sample of this fragrance from Dan AKA Mymickers and this fragrance here a is simply amazing, I get some spice not too oudy but every note seems very well blended IMO. Love it
Just popped in to try on the jeans :-). I only saw about 4 of those 200ml bottles on the counter. I remember the Amber and Oud... maybe the Bois but can't say for sure. I didn't see any of their other frags. The 57th boutique is pretty small, so maybe there's a bigger one somewhere else in Manhattan?
Good review as always, bud. Love how you include insight about the line itself. Obviously, my baby is BDA, and Ambre Nuit comes next. But I'm considering Leather Oud as well. Also, I liked Cologne Royal and Patchouli Imperial. Maybe even that pine one. Eventually will have them all :-)
My initial impression was that it smelled like some cheap powerhouse fragrance, but once I gave it a couple of wearings, found the scent to be much more pleasant than expected. I do try to apply this one about 45 minutes before work to help it settle in a bit.
Bois D'Argent is definitely more spring/summer as compared to Leather Oud (which is DEFINITELY fall/winter) but I think Bois D'Argent could potentially be worn year round. I wouldn't necessarily choose to do that myself but that's neither here nor there.
Hi...i got a 5ml decant recently and i have to say i love it. I dont really go for sweet fragrances so this is perfect..the projection is amazing. Very little goes a long way. I dont find the barnyard thing happening on my skin but i do get a very earthy/sexual/male "dominant" note. This seems to be more powerful in projection than Cuir de Russie from Chanel...Chanel's is a bit more refined and isnt as long lasting as CD. Leather Oud...I am going to purchase a full bottle when my 5ml runs out...and Im sure sinc i only need 2/3 sprays id say that will take some time.........I think this frag is a masterpiece.
Versilia Vintage Ambra Mediterranea Profumi del Forte for women and men Hey Tom would love your impressions on this one Would be an EXLUSive review on under appreciated frag
we i love your reviews . they are great . we want to ask a tough question from you . me and my friends are christian dior privee fans . we have used all from mitzah , leather oud , oud ispahan , ambre nuit , bois d' argent, granville , and all others . we all want to know which one is your favorite among all christian dior la collection privee . in terms of longevity and long lasting and full presence . your top 4 among all of them . we all would be really thank ful our kindest regards
Which 1 of these Cologne are meant for warm weather & which one is more for Fall Winter weather out of Leather Oud & Bois D'Argent OR is one of these a All Yr around type of weather ? Thanks for the info
Versilia Vintage Ambra Mediterranea Profumi del Forte is the best amber ever. I am fortunate to have an Avery perfumery here in new Orleans but luck scent has it as well just awesome Hope I didn't hype so much your disappointed . At Avery they spray a feather and this stuff last forever and have a sample as well you are welcomed to have or next time your order samples give this one a try.
thanks for this! been debating, thought ied try the Chanel route first. that...fragrant water killed it for me. "fragrant" is the wrong word. it had almost zero smell! so aside from the Dior site saying how it lasted (like the woman at Chanel on the phone said) i was afraid ta waste my money. Do u own, review....name? pepper is abt all i remember, maybe Lemmon? i like floral, but patch n dark (midnight poison was niice, silver rain.) anyhow, im rambling, ha.TNX for the post!! and if u have ideas

Granville deserves a review. Love the citrus/thyme/pine. It's uplifting and crisp.

I love the bottle and tube it comes in. And the bottle is firkin huge. I also love their vetiver.
This might be my absolute favorite from Dior
Thanks so much for the compliment. Love my leather scents
i enjoy watching your reviews
Yep, the one around 57th and 5th(?) has 4 of the bottles IIRC, including the Oud
I'm pretty sure I remember them having the Bois, however the DHI don't think so. It's a small shop and they just have a few random frags on the desk there

It's amazing in my opinion. Think you have to be in the right mood to wear it. Some of the notes in it remind me a bit of L'artisan Dzing!

Yeah Brad it's pretty strong right out of the gate
Do you by any chance know if they have Bois D'argent, and since i'm on the topic, if they carry Dior Homme Intense. Sorry for so many questions.
Wow! Thank you!
Does anyone know if they carry this line in the Dior boutique in NYC?
Nevermind you answered my question.
Oh my God. You are now my idol
What a nice thing to say!
