the LAST video I was going to look at answered my cap removal question in 10 seconds!! thank you! I kept skipping over it because I was searching Novatec!! thank you
Would you recommend these hubs? I was thinking of buying the DT Swiss 240S, but then I noticed the D791SB with similar weight to 240s, but a quarter of it's price
Good video, you can service cartridge bearings when needed a little pick to pop seals, haven’t had to do it yet . Will last you longer between services than the cup n cone on your rear wheel.
According to DT Swiss service procedures, the end cap should be put into vice with soft jaws and the whole wheel should then be pulled swiftly. This works without scratching anything.
Any chance youve found a video of this being done ? I have 641frobt hub and I feel like it's got the same system as above but no matter how hard I tweak on it it won't budge
@@farfrompkin yep. I followed this procedure and it works. The end cap was stuck tight so I had to pull fast to get it out. th-cam.com/video/-Wde2goI3Cs/w-d-xo.html
Thx for sharing your experience 👍 But the best way to remove bushers and end caps is to use a bearing puller 😉 Too much scratches with a screwdriver🙁 If you don't have a bearing puller, you could use a Dynabolt 👍 first, insert Dynabolt in the busher/end cap (not too deep in the bearing) and tight it. Then, flip the wheel and insert a rod across the hub onto the Dynabolt and knock it with an hammer to remove Dynabolt with the busher/end cap. You could use same technique to remove the bearings 😉
You need a 19,5 mm pipe , 200 mm long , split with a saw in half about 60 mm , opened circa 4 mm , and introduce from the opposite side in the bearing , you should be able to hammering out , it help if you have an electric hot air blower gun , heat the hub (the alu rotor) witch will expand in circumference and diameter ...
"Boosher." First, thanks for posting. Liked. I just got one of these, the dh61sb. Think I'll try a piece of wood to pry those puppies out. I sorta cringed at seeing that screwdriver do it. Happy landings!

Clive Weir this was tricky on the previous Novatec 771... there is a bush/spacer inside but it doesn’t push apart sideways far enough to get to the back of the bearings .. as I was replacing the bearings anyway I destroyed one to get it out.. the other was easy as I took out the spacer first.

3 years later and you just solved my problem in 1:38. HighFives all around!!
much appreciated, I have a Transition Relay with a squeaky o-ring with this exact hub, and opening it up was a mystery!

My dude! Thank you... I was struggling with those cups all day. I just needed to give it more muscle.
the Union hubgenie is the best way, damages nothing and 20$ saves you a lot of struggle👌

front is ok, rear better choose 240
Is there 792 service guide?
Don't you have a problem with friction between O-ring and the buschings? I do have and it is quite significant.

Thanks friend. I almost break orings until see your video
This video said How to overhaul the hub. I thought it was going to show how to replace the seal bearings. Do you have one of those?

What kind of bearing puller?
Наконец то хоть одно понятное видео как снять эти факинг колпачки
Плохой способ снятия колпачков это, лучше в строительном магазине подобрать монтажный анкер-цанга и им вытаскивать.
Please where do i find 20x110mm front wheel with Centerlock to buy ?
I have a Merida One-Sixty 600, model 2018
It is good to put grease there. Because if it is dry, the o ring could squeak which is annonying.
How do you get the bearings out?
prolly need a bearing puller for it.

Gracias! No podía quitar los caps del hub delantero. Saludos desde Mexico

Too thanks. You’re a champ for helping me
Can you tell what the front bearing reference is?
Was hoping to see you remove and replace the cartridge bearings. Maybe next time would make a nice video?

Good video.
If anyone could tell me how to remove these bearings prior to me destroying them with a blunt instrument I'd be very grateful
