I returned my Pixel 4 XL because the battery life was so atrocious. That and the fact that I missed the fingerprint scanner. Picked up the 5 and absolutely no regrets...hands down the best Pixel I've used.
@@rhaibi12 wtf I get 6/7hr screen on time constantly. Pixel learn from your use dnd optimize the battery. I get more screen on time than my last Oneplus 7T, which had 100mAh more. I guess it's the updates but atrocious battery is certainly an exaggeration

@@rhaibi12 maybe it was a bad unit, or it really sucked at release, but now I can assure that it's very decent, even the screen brightness is better with updates. However the battery in the 5 is one of the strongest point, enjoy 👌
@@gabrielgutierrez6086 always loved Pixel devices and kind of dealt with whatever weird hardware or software (or both... Pixel 3 XL) had. The 4 was just dying crazy fast.... really loved the aesthetics of the phone though...wish they had kept that nice black and white two tone.
Reason why I wanted the phone so bad. It's simple yet elegant and eye catching without the flashy back. I prefer the frosted glass. Still a proud owner of the pixel 4 XL.

I just think google might be done selling flagship processor equiped phones. We'll see on the pixel 6 or 7. If they don't discontinue the line up as they did nexus.
Have Pixel 4XL I'm not " upgrading " until Pixel 6 or later. I did get the Mrs. a Pixel 5. It was a definite much needed upgrade to her Pixel 2XL she's been hanging on to. She loves it!
You lose several things with the 5 like better haptics, screen size and res, better audio, neural core to process images faster, and better processor. The only thing you would gain with 5 is some battery and an ultra wide (which is not so wide)
I am upgrading my Pixel 3 XL to the Sage Green Pixel 5 and I can't wait! I'm looking forward to the insane amounts of battery life, 90 hz refresh rate, 8 gigs of ram, reverse wireless charging, and wide-angle lens. I do like my pixel 3 xl, but over the pasty 6-8months, my battery has been degrading gradually. The pixel 5 in sage green does look awesome to me though!

Thanks 9 to 5. Some of us Pixel 4 XL owners had to deal with the polarizing point of view from the tech influencers. We are having a good experience. A lot of you are revisiting the 4 and recognizing how good it actually is. If you tech influencers gave good reviews at the onset, just think of what the Pixel 5 would have been today? Apple and Samsung didn't compromise anything in their flagship devices in 2020. Makes us Pixel faithful feel shortchanged! Hopefully there will be a flagship for us in the Pixel 6. 🤞
'If' google launch a Pixel 4 XLS. Retain all the hardwares but with upgrades to a bigger battery , triple cameras including fingerprint sensor... PERFECT!

I love my Pixel 4XL and didn't upgrade this year. But if Google puts their own custom-made SoC in the Pixel 6 it's an immediate upgrade for me! Plus, I always resell my old tech before buying new (or new to me / used) tech! Cheers!

In fact I really can't understand how people come to accept the fact that photos and videos are better on the Pixel 5 while the Pixel 4 has the same software interface and better hardware.
I would say video stabilization is a little better on the five then the four but as far as photos you can't really tell the difference even if you get a three you couldn't tell the difference between the pixel 3 and the pixel 4 and the 5 they use the same camera hardware now the processor for the pixel 4 process is photos faster because they don't have that in the pixel 5 but as far as photos they're both the same but photos on the pixel 5 will be better when it comes to ultra wide angle shots but when it comes to steel shots they're both the same
Seems like a downgrade to me. Pixel 5 has much smaller screen than the 4XL . 5 loses the quick, functional Soli face recognition unlock of the 4 for the glitchy fingerprint reader that needs fingerprint reinput about every other day to work. I have had no issues whatsoever with the battery of the 4XL. 5 also gets a distracting hole punch camera on the screen. Finally the Pixel 4 feels so much better in hand compared to an aluminum body phone.
I'm with you on this!! I did try it but sent it back because of the under screen speaker, also tried the Xperia 5ii but suffered with random crashes. Now decided to stick it out for the 6.

This review makes me glad I chose a refurbished 4XL over the 5. Hopefully 6 or 7 will be worth the upgrade. I'm coming from HTC since they don't seem to be interested in releasing their new phones in the US.
As a Pixel 5 owner, I can say that the hype from the YT community is not justified. It is not a bad phone, but to gorge on it like it is a Michelin 5-star meal is simply a joke. It is average at best and the wrong way from a value perspective. If you have a Pixel 4XL and do not need 5g, then keep it. If you have a Pixel 4XL or a Pixel 4 and need 5g or a sensible battery, then I would maybe buy an OP8 Pro, S20FE, Xiaomi anything, an iPhone 12, etc.
That's the hope. Now that said, it will be interesting how well they do and solid this proprietary chip is. I'm holding on to my Pixel 4 XL until then too.

Unless you're bound to them by contract still, drop that service!! I have mint mobile and pay 30 a month for unlimited everything with no contract. If they offer mint in your area, i would highly recommend it.

I had to send back my Pixel 5. I’m so used to the XL size. But I did order the Pixel 4a5g. Which really seems to me more like a Pixel 5XL. Minus water resistance and 2 gigs of ram. Anyway, I hope it’s good. I guess I’m getting too old for small phones...lol
I did try out the Pixel 5, but it was only slightly disappointing. For me, the screen was too small, but the worse put of it all were the speakers. Watching videos and listening to music wasn't horrible, but it was the phone calls that were bad. I just couldn't hear people very well at all. I had to keep asking them to speak up and speak up. Also, once you start working on the pixel 5 and doing some things, you start to feel the lack of hardware. The pictures took a few more seconds to render, but even working with documents, they too took a few seconds to render in. The Pixel 4XL is a great device even today.
I still have my Pixel 3XL, heck I'm on it rn!😁It's still as fast as the day I bought it even with all the stuff I've put on there. Why isn't there a 5XL?
I upgraded from the original Pixel and everything is an upgrade and for the same size! I don't like big phones I'm very happy with the Pixel 5. The biggest reason why I didn't get the 4 was because of the battery and the screen was lacking with that forehead
Yeah that forehead didn't make any sense to me I don't know why they just didn't make an all screen device with a hole punch front facing camera even the 4XL you have a bigger screen than the five you could have made it all screen device such a waste I'm really enjoying my five as well has a great battery life takes great photos has a great processor can't complain fits comfortably in my hand I'm tired of using super huge devices anyway I like something that's comfortable in my pocket that's not so damn bulky
I have the the 3xl. It has screen burn and 2 hair line cracks that are barely noticeable. The photos are still amazing and squeeze is still here. I'm gonna wait for a price drop but I hope the 6 can keep this up
Why would they downgrade the design to that of the Pixel 5. The Pixel 4 is one of the nicest looking phones out there. Angers me that so many companies change their design when it's near-perfect, for what seems no reason at all.
I think it was strategic as the design of the pixel 5 is mid tier like the internals and looks similar to the 4a. Lucky the 6 looks much more premium with specs to match
After 7 years I want to upgrade my phone , still have a Galaxy S5 still good phone for my needs but the issues (battery,camera,storage)ads up and its time to escalate . I have some choices and dont know which to decide between : Note 20 ultra the 256/500GB storage OnePlus 8T, Rog phone 3 500GB storage ,Pixel 5(out of stock in UK) and NO the reson for not upgrading is not money, my needs were met with the S5 its just upgrading. I would appreciate Any/some advices about the choices and which would be a good pick.Thanks
I have a iPhone 8 and I switch to the Pixel 5 because apple is too expensive. The Pixel 5 has the perfect size for me, very good batterie, not too expensive, good camera, 90hz, nice display & a good software. That‘s why I‘m switching to the Pixel 5. I don‘t like big size phones.
:NO the reason for not upgrading is not money" Keep away from OnePlus phones because of the cameras. My advice is to buy Note 20 Ultra 512GB " They come only in Black" when it drops $300 or $200 which they have on Amazon. Samsung S10 is an excellent phone and great value under any $600, keep away from Samsung S20 series not worth purchase except Note 20 Ultra. Pixel phones are best in taking photos, videos are best on iPhones then Samsungs but with Pixel 5 they might overtake Samsung. Buy Pixel 5 when it drops $50 or $100 which will happen on Black Friday and that's when I will purchase one. I own Pixels, iPhones, Samsungs and OnePlus. It is time to upgrade and after 7 years you will enjoy the new experience far than the ones who upgrade every year or 2 years. You will be a very happy camper whatever you choose.

The processor and removal of their unique Neural Core or something on previous pixel series is embarrassing for a phone made by Google. Hopefully Pixel 6 can go all out specs wise. They don't seem to aim for profits anyway (or else they would make it available in more countries).
I have both phones and generally use we can not see the difference using the phone normally day. The pixel 5 the battery is most better. I prefer the pixel 5.
Just got pixel 5 after having 4 for a while - ergonomics are unbearable. The fingers cramp from holding it and using the keyboard. It feels like it's about to slip out. Hope that that the smaller form factor (like pixel 4) makes a come back.
Google should have put the Snapdragon 865 along with a triple cam setup (using the pixel 4's telephoto lens) in the pixel 5. Dunno WTH they're thinking.
i bought a used pixel 4 instead . way cheaper no regret. powerful than the 5 premium material all around just the front isn't as good as the 5 . pixel 5 give you mid range chip for that price in samsung u can get s20 fe with flagship chip or oneplus 8T . even the cheapest ip 12 mini has the premium built and chip. just skip the 5 wait for the 6 for google brand new in house chip collab with samsung

The pixel 5 does look nicer with its slim bezzels however that sd765 is just rubbish doing things like photo editing and other heavier tasks drags the phone down quite noticeably. I was going to upgrade from my pixel 4 (not XL) to the 5 and after testing it for 24 hours I couldn't downgrade for the sake of some slimmer bezzels. Ps the pixel 4 I own does not give me battery issues it lasts all day and I do play a bit of cod mobile too. It did suffer a bit when I first got it but as time went on the battery got better... Not sure how this works but it does. I get around 4.5 hours screen on time with 1 hour cod mobile and the rest just browsing listening to music. Also I have the radar turned off as I just don't ever use it for anything.
I was an avid galaxy user. Went to the iPhone xr late 2018. Really dislike this phone. Been debating which one would be best for me to go to. The 4xl or 5
@Amadeus Lucian I actually tested both side by side in store. The 5 was noticably smoother by a long shot. While the 4a was bigger/cheaper and felt better in my hand with the extra weight, I went with the 5. They had a brand new open box for 100 less than usual and 100 more than the 4a. I had just gotten a heavy duty case to accommodate for the weight. So far I've been super happy with this one
Why support pixel 4 until android 13 when the hardware is superior in the 4? Seems like only a dick move. Normally they can say hardware is not up to snuff and that's why support ends but they don't have that excuse here
I hated face unlock the second it was introduced years ago and it's nice to see people are finally realizing how stupid it is (not you specifically, people in general). Fingerprint sensor on the back is THE BEST way to unlock a phone.

I will be doing the same move. But I'm going to miss the 2 front facing cameras. That wide sensor in the front is really useful

I'm loving the pixel 5 crazy battery life and it's plenty fast enough Camera is awesome and selfie is pretty wide especially if you don't crop in

I had to send back my Pixel 5. I’m so used to the XL size. But I did order the Pixel 4a5g. Which really seems to me more like a Pixel 5XL. Minus water resistance and 2 gigs of ram. Anyway, I hope it’s good. I guess I’m getting too old for small phones...lol
I did the same. I have the 3 XL and the 4 XL and I just couldn't get used to the small size for texting!
I did try out the Pixel 5, but it was only slightly disappointing. For me, the screen was too small, but the worse put of it all were the speakers. Watching videos and listening to music wasn't horrible, but it was the phone calls that were bad. I just couldn't hear people very well at all. I had to keep asking them to speak up and speak up. Also, once you start working on the pixel 5 and doing some things, you start to feel the lack of hardware. The pictures took a few more seconds to render, but even working with documents, they too took a few seconds to render in. The Pixel 4XL is a great device even today.
I agree and the screen on pixel 4xl is better.

I upgraded from the original Pixel and everything is an upgrade and for the same size! I don't like big phones I'm very happy with the Pixel 5. The biggest reason why I didn't get the 4 was because of the battery and the screen was lacking with that forehead
Yeah that forehead didn't make any sense to me I don't know why they just didn't make an all screen device with a hole punch front facing camera even the 4XL you have a bigger screen than the five you could have made it all screen device such a waste I'm really enjoying my five as well has a great battery life takes great photos has a great processor can't complain fits comfortably in my hand I'm tired of using super huge devices anyway I like something that's comfortable in my pocket that's not so damn bulky

I have the the 3xl. It has screen burn and 2 hair line cracks that are barely noticeable. The photos are still amazing and squeeze is still here. I'm gonna wait for a price drop but I hope the 6 can keep this up
Why would they downgrade the design to that of the Pixel 5. The Pixel 4 is one of the nicest looking phones out there. Angers me that so many companies change their design when it's near-perfect, for what seems no reason at all.
I think it was strategic as the design of the pixel 5 is mid tier like the internals and looks similar to the 4a. Lucky the 6 looks much more premium with specs to match
If the pixel 5 had kept the telephoto or 3 cameras it would be the best, but not neither are a good option really.

After 7 years I want to upgrade my phone , still have a Galaxy S5 still good phone for my needs but the issues (battery,camera,storage)ads up and its time to escalate .
I have some choices and dont know which to decide between : Note 20 ultra the 256/500GB storage OnePlus 8T, Rog phone 3 500GB storage ,Pixel 5(out of stock in UK) and NO the reson for not upgrading is not money, my needs were met with the S5 its just upgrading.
I would appreciate Any/some advices about the choices and which would be a good pick.Thanks
I have a iPhone 8 and I switch to the Pixel 5 because apple is too expensive. The Pixel 5 has the perfect size for me, very good batterie, not too expensive, good camera, 90hz, nice display & a good software. That‘s why I‘m switching to the Pixel 5. I don‘t like big size phones.

I would toss it up between Note 20 Ultra and 8T but if you just want a phone that works with a great camera and software updates then get a Pixel 5.
:NO the reason for not upgrading is not money" Keep away from OnePlus phones because of the cameras. My advice is to buy Note 20 Ultra 512GB " They come only in Black" when it drops $300 or $200 which they have on Amazon. Samsung S10 is an excellent phone and great value under any $600, keep away from Samsung S20 series not worth purchase except Note 20 Ultra. Pixel phones are best in taking photos, videos are best on iPhones then Samsungs but with Pixel 5 they might overtake Samsung. Buy Pixel 5 when it drops $50 or $100 which will happen on Black Friday and that's when I will purchase one. I own Pixels, iPhones, Samsungs and OnePlus. It is time to upgrade and after 7 years you will enjoy the new experience far than the ones who upgrade every year or 2 years. You will be a very happy camper whatever you choose.

The processor and removal of their unique Neural Core or something on previous pixel series is embarrassing for a phone made by Google. Hopefully Pixel 6 can go all out specs wise. They don't seem to aim for profits anyway (or else they would make it available in more countries).

I have both phones and generally use we can not see the difference using the phone normally day. The pixel 5 the battery is most better. I prefer the pixel 5.

Just got pixel 5 after having 4 for a while - ergonomics are unbearable.
The fingers cramp from holding it and using the keyboard. It feels like it's about to slip out. Hope that that the smaller form factor (like pixel 4) makes a come back.
Google should have put the Snapdragon 865 along with a triple cam setup (using the pixel 4's telephoto lens) in the pixel 5. Dunno WTH they're thinking.

i bought a used pixel 4 instead . way cheaper no regret. powerful than the 5 premium material all around just the front isn't as good as the 5 . pixel 5 give you mid range chip for that price in samsung u can get s20 fe with flagship chip or oneplus 8T . even the cheapest ip 12 mini has the premium built and chip. just skip the 5 wait for the 6 for google brand new in house chip collab with samsung

I honestly don't think even Pixel 3 XL users should upgrade either. Superficial, I know, but the SDM 845 is just as capable as this new mid-ranger.
I had both and also the 4 XL and I sold my 5. Just didn't seem like an upgrade to me and in some ways a downgrade.

I am not sold on the five? That under display speaker 🔊 sounds tinny & muffled? I strongly feel that my 4xl is the better phone? The 1440p display is beautiful, actually competes with the best the S10+? The squeeze feature & face unlock. Nah, maybe the pixel6, only if there is an XL model! Very good review!
The pixel 5 does look nicer with its slim bezzels however that sd765 is just rubbish doing things like photo editing and other heavier tasks drags the phone down quite noticeably. I was going to upgrade from my pixel 4 (not XL) to the 5 and after testing it for 24 hours I couldn't downgrade for the sake of some slimmer bezzels.
Ps the pixel 4 I own does not give me battery issues it lasts all day and I do play a bit of cod mobile too. It did suffer a bit when I first got it but as time went on the battery got better... Not sure how this works but it does. I get around 4.5 hours screen on time with 1 hour cod mobile and the rest just browsing listening to music. Also I have the radar turned off as I just don't ever use it for anything.
I was an avid galaxy user. Went to the iPhone xr late 2018. Really dislike this phone. Been debating which one would be best for me to go to. The 4xl or 5
@Amadeus Lucian I actually tested both side by side in store. The 5 was noticably smoother by a long shot. While the 4a was bigger/cheaper and felt better in my hand with the extra weight, I went with the 5. They had a brand new open box for 100 less than usual and 100 more than the 4a. I had just gotten a heavy duty case to accommodate for the weight. So far I've been super happy with this one

Why support pixel 4 until android 13 when the hardware is superior in the 4? Seems like only a dick move. Normally they can say hardware is not up to snuff and that's why support ends but they don't have that excuse here
The only thing I hate about the 4 is the stupid face unlock , I really miss the fingerprint sensor ..
I hated face unlock the second it was introduced years ago and it's nice to see people are finally realizing how stupid it is (not you specifically, people in general). Fingerprint sensor on the back is THE BEST way to unlock a phone.
