I thought the same as well. Which here lately as their singing voice have matured. Mina specifically has a better timbre than what she started out. You can here it more when they sing Japanese.

I think she was emphasizing that Mina sounds VERY Japanese when singing in Japanese. In comparison to how other members sound.
I love hearing them talking about behind the scenes, observational speculation kinda stuff that fans might do. That’s something I’ve said before, that they must be giving the sounds harder for Koreans to MiSaMo. It also isn’t a given for them to be able to sing Japanese like a Japanese singer. They sing professionally in Korean most of the time and learned vocal technique from Koreans in Korea. A native English speaker doesn’t necessarily know how to phrase and pronounce words as a professional English singer would so you can take it like that even if Momo wasn’t going that deep.

Some of you don't understand lol to make an example in English, a lot of british singers don't have a british accent when they sing, so when a british person has a very prominent accent when singing you could say "they sound VERY british". Happens in Spanish too. Singers can go for a neutral accent but others you'll listen and go "wow he's very mexican" bc they emphasize it. Here Momo is saying mina and sana sound VERY japanese, meaning they're emphasizing certain sounds a lot
