- The Nolans are an all-female band consisting of a group of sisters. The group, best known for their song "I'm In the Mood for Dancing", gained prominence as guest performers on numerous television shows in the United Kingdom. The majority of their charted singles and albums occurred in the early 1980s but they continued to be active until 2005 and were particularly successful in Japan. The sisters have pursued varying solo careers in acting, music and television presenting.

The fact that she sang this at the top of her lungs for the whole song without a break, and danced is incredible. Nowadays the track does all the singing when the singer gets tired.

I find it horrible that people are making nasty comments about their voices. No1, 2 of the girls have cancer so why cant everyone be nice. No2, I those days singer sang. No auto tune etc. Singers today are no better. They just have better technology to make them appear as though they have talent and can sing. Most cannot!

I was 7 when this came out. Loved it then and still a great song today. Coleen does look rather nervous- maybe it was her first live show and she was very young. Great harmonies and real live singing. Bet they all wish they were still as slim but they are all lovely ladies and heartbreaking to see that not only is Linda living with terminal cancer but now it’s got to Anne too. Nobody deserves such tragedy in one family. Thoughts go out to all of them.

These ladies were so awesome pop singers at the time. Back then, I was just a 12-year-old kid, but I notice that these female singers became my beautiful muses. As time goes by, they became elder women, however, I still love their songs and watching their TH-cam videos. Nolans would be forever in my heart.👍👍👍

Got some free tickets to go and see them live at Wakefield Theatre club in the early 80's. To be honest I wasn't expecting them to be anything special but in actual fact they were absolutely amazing! Great vocals, harmonies were note perfect and they put on a very professional show, bringing the house down! Fantastic! This performance doesn't really do them justice - but hey, we all have our off days! :-)

I remember when I was a kid some of the Nolan sisters actually came to my school in Bridgend it was a special school Ysgol Cefn glas and they were amazing and I was so happy just see them so thank you for the video sweet

The Nolans are an Irish girl group who formed in 1974 as The Nolan Sisters, before changing their name in 1980. They are best known for their hit single "I'm In the Mood for Dancing". Released in December 1979, the song reached number three in the UK in February 1980 and topped the Japanese charts in November 1980. Selling over 25 million records, they are one of the world’s biggest selling girl groups. They were particularly successful in Japan, becoming the first European act to win the Tokyo Music Festival with "Sexy Music" in 1981, and won a Japanese Grammy (Tokubetsu Kikaku Shō) in 1992.
Great sound and gorgeous to watch. Nice and simple act.
They were great. Back when groups sang live and didn't lipsince. Bernie sounded nervous early (who wouldn't be) but then got her groove and absolutely belted out the notes.

Say what you like but they were a massively popular act in the 1970s and sold a boatload of records in the days when you actually had to take your hard earned cash to record shop ( remember them?) and by a disc, take it home and listen to it. Not simply download, keep or discard from Apple. Each to their own.
