    This is treasure. You can clearly hear how good this song is with each of the instruments heard separately. Absolute gold!

    19:00 Sounds like Ozzy did (at least) two tracks with one being, “…did you talk TO the dead” and the other, “…did you talk WITH the dead”
    Sounds like you can slightly hear both. I know Max Norman and Randy both said they were way rushed in the studio, so it would reason that little ‘mistake’ could be left in on accident.

      Sounds right. I also take issue with, and get agreement with others, that in the song, "You can't kill rock and roll" when Ozzy sings "Pawn in a table light, losing to you.", it should be "Pawn in a table fight..." referring to the game of chess. The lyrics printed everywhere is 'table light' because that's what he sounds like he's singing, but there aren't any pawns in a table light that can lose to you. Electrons maybe.

    An absolute masterpiece, forged in iron, that has gone far beyond standing the test of time.

    It's like Ozzys vocals alone are almost enough that it would still be the timeless epic that it is.

      Good, Randy was a F---IN' GUITAR WHIZ, geez good almost does him a disservice, not sayin' you were, but geez, when somebody like that blows me that much away, I really like to give 'em their full blast props.

    What might have been if Sharon hadn't arrogantly decided to meddle in the music rather than "sticking to the percentages". Kerslake is just magnificent here, as is Daisley.

  • @thomasroche4762
    @thomasroche4762 2 ปีที่แล้ว +15

    someone needs to make tabs and sheet music for the complete keyboard part, exactly as Don plays it. Every version i have seen is missing the parts he plays under the verse's and the choruses, on (presumably) the Oberheim Ob-X, i love how old school video game like that sound is, especially when it plays the riff, and then does the ascending and descending part under the chorus part.

      Seriously it’s such a great aspect to the song that gets overlooked understandably. It gives the song such an eerie feel and adds so much tension. And Randy’s guitar I don’t even have to say anything it speaks for itself. A pure masterpiece in all aspects.

      Actually the synth's Don Airey played on this song were a Yamaha CS-80 (for the organ) a Mini Moog (for the bass part of the intro), and a Roland VP-330 (for the choir parts), I did see an Oberheim in the photo, but I think that was an OB-1 (which might've been the bass synth he played after the intro), I don't know if the OB-X came out durin' this time cause this was hot off the heels of '79.

    El bajo no lo tocaba Rudy Sarzo?

    • @LuisMantecada
      @LuisMantecada 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Rudy se unió más tarde a la banda, pero en los inicios Bob Daisley era el encargado del bajo.

    • @pgprog
      @pgprog 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, los dos primeros álbumes (Blizzard y Diairy) han sido grabados por Bob Daisley y Lee Kerslake en la batería. Vemos en la manga interior de Diary una foto con Rudy Sarzo y Tommy Aldridge. Bob Daisley y Lee Kerslake cuando acudieron a la corte para hacer las cosas bien y ganaron. Quizás por eso Ozzy ($haron) volvió a grabar el bajo y la batería en 2012 con otros músicos para no tener que pagar.

    • @BEST-rl7yu
      @BEST-rl7yu 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Ozzy said, --- “Randy smoked a lot, he would have won any lung cancer championship.” That's what Ozzy joked about 😅. Ozzy loved and respected Randy Rhoаds. It's some kind of inexplicable miracle that Ozzy chose Randy Rhoаds, even though he had auditioned many other guitarists before him. And he could even play with Gary Moore himself.
      A very amazing story about the beginning of Ozzy's solo career, and a very tragic one. Despite the fact that Ozzy is what he is, he is actually a very humble and sincere person. I am sure that Ozzy knows and thinks that it is Randy Rhoаds that he misses.

    What is the metronome tempo?

    • @chandlerthegoolsby
      @chandlerthegoolsby 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not sure if the tech was far enough along to record to a click, so setting a metronome to this probably wouldn’t stay on, as it’s likely the rhythm section dictating timing and that can push and pull a LOT throughout a take

    • @chandlerthegoolsby
      @chandlerthegoolsby 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Does seem like the drummer is fluctuating between 105-111 bpm, and he speeds up significantly right when he changes to that busier beat at the end solo, I think even getting as fast as 117 bpm

    why is there rhythm guitar with keyboard

    • @dinorocker8647
      @dinorocker8647 ปีที่แล้ว

      Cause it adds extra power to it, besides it was supposed to be an indicator for when Randy was playin' his solos.
