39:24 well said Ming Han. My ex was very new agey.... But as I grew "older", our beliefs clashed more and more. Eg sex b4 marriage, we are one with the universe la etc. Xblh la...

I'm a Dayak from Sarawak. I am in a multiracial marriage... and so are many of my maternal aunties and an uncle... my maternal and distant cousins too. Many of my extended family members - maternal and paternal - are also in multiracial marriages. Back in school (in the 80s)... I'm from the rural but went to boarding school in Kuching... which means I had roommates and schoolmates who were from many ethnics and racial backgrounds. The way it was done in my school back then was that when we registered... we would be divided among the dorm rooms as equally as possible. Means... there would be at least one student of a race/ethnic in all dorm rooms. So, all the time that we were in school, we would have to learn to study, work and live with each other. We were NEVER segregated based on our race and religion... of course only Muslims would be attending agama classes lah. 😆 Other than that, we were expected to learn to work as a team (we had dorm room competition, etc.).

51:30 - “ I was shocked until they just feed me some drinks then I okay 🤣🤣🤣🤣“. Best way to describe Gawai celebration that is! Iban-Bidayuh represent here. Gawai lasts one month actually. It started on 31st May, and ends on 30th June where for the Ibans (I’m speaking based on my family’s practice 😂), we will have the Ngiling Bidai (the closing off of the carpet, literally speaking) and party all night, cheers here and there. I love how you guys talk about this topic in such a way that for me, it is nicely done as this is a sensitive issue. Looking forward to the current panellists (Raj and Desmond - both dudes are entertaining and articulate, I must say) to come back and cover even further on this topic. Two thumbs up 👍🏻 👍🏻 from me!

Totally get Desmond! I got better grades in BM than Chinese. HAHA. And I am in Chinese primary and secondary schools. But somehow when it hits university, I just dk why I am more prone to getting along with other races than my own race. DK why. Same like Ming Yue. Now end up in a relationship with a Malay. Getting strong gais! Communication + Understanding.

I don't really know, but I think there are different types of Chinese people in Malaysia, but the majority are quite sino-centric, while people like the Ming brothers are just minority among the local Chinese community. And a large portion of Chinese Malaysians can handles many different Chinese dialects but failed to have good BM fluency.
