I think this is the right move Allyn. This is creating a simpler approach for those of us that dont have time to spray 4 vs 2, while maintaining the option for 4 for those that have time (like I will when I retire 😅) Love the hobby of managing my land and keeping the neighbors dominated, but every once in a while I can't get away from work at the FD and I fall behind. This is a great solution!
The podcast is music to my ears. I'm in Utah, so we are stuck in winter right now.
Awesome session Sir! Preach!!!
Long time listener and guide user.
Neighbors envy my Central FL lawn and think I’m a genius, thanks to 12 years of LNC leaning!
💪
I had a dream last night that, despite the snow on the ground, the lawn was growing and I needed to mow. I miss mowing so much!
I know the feeling!! The good news is that spring is just 52 days away!
I'm glad you are back!
thank you Tom, great to be back!
Im all ears!! Love to see you doing the podcast again.
thanks bro!
Over here in Winter Park its basically spring. Only thing that's gone to bed is the crepes.
thrower down!
Nothing makes the log ride to work on a Monday better than this. I definitely want to know more about the amazon/hydretain saga.
Thanks for listening! Someday I will share for sure.
I know I am not going to have the time to mow often enough so I am thinking of getting a robotic mower. I also want to switch over to creeping bentgrass.
Robot mowers are great for helping out like that. I think that is the main purpose they serve right now - backup for those of us who don't always have time to mow.
21:16 hey LCN i just brought some provista st aug grass plugs last week from Bethal.
NW Indiana - shout out!
I need to take a look at viridian st augustine... Salt water from Helene left portions of my lawn looking like scorched earth.
1976. Snowed during the night and stuck for several hours. Was melted by noon. Central Florida South of Orlando 30 miles
Where and when can I get Viridian Sod in Florida?
reach out to Scotts directly - they have someone who helps direct you to the right farm (his name is Scott) scotts.com/en-us/learn/scotts-provista.html
@@LawnsAcrossAmerica Thank you
You know, he's joking but I think it is the copper. When I clean out the nozzle I always find little brown/gold speckles.
it very well could be.
Dude Gulf of Mexico . Grow up.
Hell, yeah gulf of America, baby for the win!!!
you are wrong on all counts. LMAO
@ about what?
@ you’re probably more worried about the smelt fish than human beings one of those snowflakes
No, it is Sea Senor. ..!
@Seang3538 Let me guess: California?
Not think about my lawn? Yeah, okay.. Sure.
I've had a ProVista lawn for 4 years now and am disappointed with it. It takes forever to fill in bare spots, does not grow well in shady areas and is not greener than my neighbor who has regular St. Augustine. I fertilize monthly with no discernable difference.
That's interesting - I have had the opposite experience. I rehabilitated a ProVista lawn a couple years ago and it filled in completely in 3 months with just fert. But for sure, timing is everything. You have to get it started early in the season or it just never really gets going until summer. Can I ask how big your lawn is, what fertilizer you are using (analysis) and how much you put down each time?
@@LawnsAcrossAmerica Hi Allyn, my lawn is about 8000 square feet in Melbourne. I've been using Double Dark, Stress Blend and even Scotts Green Max. It's very disappointing
@@johncorey2402 Gotcha - here's the thing - none of those are what I recommend for ProVista. I know it can be difficult to follow all of my content everywhere but I've always told people that ProVista should get Flagship and only Flagship every month. The ones you used do not contain enough nitrogen. They are great for other grasses but ProVista needs a lot more. What I recommend you do is hit your lawn with Flagship now, and 3 more times over the next 3 months, 30 days apart. One thing to consider is your mention of shade - that's a tough one to diagnose over the internet and comparing shade to a neighbor isn't the same either. What i'm saying is you could just have not enough sunlight to grow this grass or any warm season turf - you may consider maknig some areas that are super shaded into landscape beds, or cutting down trees. Lawns need full sun here if possible. So it could be a combination of not enough nitrogen early and often enough, and shade. Those two things together will for sure stunt ProVista.
@@TheLawnCareNut thanks. I'll give it a shot.
TikTok is trash
yeah I'm not a fan.
