    We are in the opposite season as you here in the US. But really enjoyed this video and seeing some of your repotting work. Thanks for sharing! - Choten-en Bonsai

    Also nice to see I'm not the only one with an old toothbrush in the bonsai toolbox!

    Wow, beautiful tree. You took off a lot more of the rootball than I expected! Thank you, Scott!

    Just wanted to say big fan love the podcast listen to it daily and often back to the start for all the sage advice you give us..I know you don’t post many videos but its always a nice bonus when you do..( came to see the 4 way tie in)..keep it going as we need you in the bonsai world..lots of bonsai love from the UK (also how do you get your sphagnum moss that fine?, in a blender?, I spend ages chopping it up with scissors or a knife! 😅

      @@pauljarvis7386 thank you very much!! The sphagnum is rubbed through a sieve, gets it nice and fine and much easier than chopping it up.

    Another great video, thank you! I have a massive European Hornbeam, it's a very old tree with a massive nabari, it's probably a bit too heavy for me at my age, but I couldn't resist not buying it :-)

      I'm in Melbourne, Victoria and plenty of the trees I've been repotting have new roots as well as bud swell, some have popped already too.

    Great video thanks. So you don’t use any Akadama in your mix at all.

    • @BonsaiMatsu
      @BonsaiMatsu  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Nope. I find it can breakdown really easily and clog up the mix.

    Hi, have you ever used Zeolite in your soil mix? It has a high CEC value but doesn't break down like Akadama.
