I've been playing this guitar for an year an a half now. I bought it second hand for 1000$. I really have no complains about it. It stays in tune really, really well. Even after month in the case, you just pick it up and start playing. The trem is probably not the best, but is solid AF, nothing to worry about. But the pickups are insane. I don't know if I could buy a better guitar for this price. It's a banger. The neck is really nice too.
its an awesome guitar!!! the neck is great and feels great, it looks awesome with a the floral design, but its not bold in your face, the pick ups are awesome, its stays in tune, no neck adjustments, my only complaint and its not really a complaint is the tremelo- its good and works well, but I wish it was an original edge(I like the original edge the best for ibanez guitars), but at the end of the day its still good. Nice job reviewing the guitar Bobby. I have a 1987 Jem 777DP in Desert Yellow. The heel on your guitar iso referred to as AANJ(all access neck joint). A definite improvement from the original. I still dig my 87 🎸🎸

Yeah but just about every bolt on back then was the cutaway type heel. I have the Genesis 570 and it comes w/ the tilt joint which I love. It fits my hands perfectly, I can reach all 24 frets w/ no issues. I wished they'd do an Indo made Jem jr in the desert yellow w/ the disappearing pyramid inlays on maple fretboard and the Lochness Green as well. I think they'd sell a ton of those if they did.
Your guitar is an April 2016 model (S/N starts 1604..). My BFP is a similar age (March 2016) and it's a great guitar. The neck is super comfy and the Premium fret end treatment is just fantastic. My only (minor) criticism is that the screw in Tremolo Arm can work loose when playing and doesn't stay in the position I left it. Easily remedied by putting a small rubber O-Ring inside the screw on collar. Either that or replace the Arm with an Ibanez ZR2/EZ or Red Bishop unit.

Hi Frank, I have had this guitar for a while, the look and the quality of this guitar is great, I have some old 87 & 88 RG's and they hold up and the rarely go out of tune. I thought that would be funny the monkey grip is to hold the guitar while you run from the ladies - lol Thank you for checking out the video.

The neck/headstock bulge is called a volute. You get it on Warwick basses, although the earlier ones didn't and I'd be scared to use one without one! Gibsons don't have them (hence the main place for breaks when a guitar falls over), but they tried putting them on and people didn't like them... How do you find the tuning stability on this? Vai's new Jems have a petal grip now but the monkey grip is better looking I think

Hi the JEM7VP white has an original gold Edge tremelo, the blue has a low pro edge 3(they both are good, but I like the original better. The pick ups are the same on both guitars, both made in Indonesia, the big difference is the the white is very plain, but the has a better look. they both are great guitars, but I like the blue one better. Last year I got Jiva 10, it was between that, this floral and a Genesis Rg550.. and I went w/ the Jiva, and I've been kicking myself since, I do not like it. I want to, but It's been a nightmare of post work to get it playable. One thing I don't like is the Trem the Zero 2, those small bocks I have a hard time locking in the strings from time to time. And the collar of the whammy wasn't threaded to fit the screw on part of the trem. So, I'm worried about getting a floral due to that and that they're made in the same place, but the fretwork on the jiva didn' t have one fret that wasnt' sharp or sprouted. and the trem issues.. How was this one out of the box?
Hi Ryan, I actually have a yellow RG550 reissue(I will get a video out on it soon), as far as the floral jem, I have had no issues with this guitar, before I got this one, I had bought a blue floral used from GC and it had some issues(not sure why), so I returned it, luckily this one has been amazing. the Trem the Zero 2, on mine I have had no issues, but I wish that they would have put a regular edge for a tremelo on it(I like this the best). if you have any other questions please reach out. @@TheGuitarFretZone Which do you like the most the 550 or the floral? I have the 570Genesis reissue a few years ago, and it just feels so solid in my hands, and comfortable. I put seymour Duncans in it, cause i don't care for the stock pups that those come with. But I hear ya.. if the 550 reissues came w after market pups and if the floral jem came w/ the original Edge.. both would be probably two of the best selling guitars Ibanez would have out there.
@@ryant3600 I really like the reissue of the 550 a very solid guitar and I like the pick ups- they are not bad , but the necks on the new 550 guitars are different than the old RG necks or even the floral necks, they are a bit wider and a bit thicker, the neck on the floral is great, and I love the original edge- I agree with you if the floral jem came w/ the original Edge.. both would be probably two of the best selling guitars Ibanez would have out there, but I really love both of them. The floral comes with what is called Wizard Premium.. so not sure the difference. Is the Floral Jem worth the extra 600.00 bucks over the 550? That's the real question I guess.

it has no issues, its a great guitar, I have never any issues, the trem is great, its a high end guitar
