You can check them too in my channel how I clean their leaves naturally.. Thank you for sharing your babies how gorgeous they are... Love love...

    I think the silver is just a reflection from secondary pigments harvesting different wave lengths of light! It shouldn’t effect the plants growth but giving it brighter light should reduce the production of the secondary pigments and in theory, give the plant less silver colours over time. Its such a beautiful colour tho OMG 😍🙈

    Your first forgetti reminds me of a turtle shell! Teehee you are an amazing person to be able to be so successful with these plants. I admire your research and your tenacity and your ability to explain all of this to us. You are a great teacher and thank you so much for your videos. I have just a tiny little Channel and I try to help people figure out how to solve problems with their plants. You make me want to collect anthriums!!!! But I already have over fifty orchids most or phalaenopsis and I've gotten them to rebloom so I feel successful in that room. I've rescued a Rex begonia and figured out how to get them grow healthy and so I have a small collection of them. I also absolutely love Hoya and have collected quite a few of them. I love my pothos and have one of each including trying to collect silvery and an Exotica which are not true pothos. I love my elephant ears that whole family alocasia colocasia and caladiums and have collected quite a few varieties. I have a hard time saying no to a beautiful plant. I'm 71 years old and it's getting harder to take care of all my plant collections. Maybe I should just concentrate on anthurium my collections including three huge monstera and split leaf philodendron excetera excetera excetera. You go girl... I'm falling in love with those beautiful plants

    Hi I know this is an older video so this might not even be worth asking at this point, but do you happen to know where you got that huge clear pot your regale was in?! Around 19 minutes into the video lol. You can see there’s a big clear pot inside the ceramic cache pot :) I have been wanting similar sized clear pots for my large anthurium so I just thought I’d ask!

    You said something about the silver and what was the purpose I've noticed there's silver on like the Silvery on pothos or the Exotica I noticed that silvery sheen on the wandering jew the purple one especially and you got my curiosity aroused... I'm wondering if maybe it reflects light back maybe it's a form of protection from bright sunlight could it be to attract helpful insects ..... could it be a way of reflecting sunlight onto its other leaves kind of interesting thought-provoking question. I've often wondered about that too because nature doesn't do anything randomly. So maybe are evolved so it could compete on the forest floor and reflect sunlight back onto itself. I know I've read that calatheas have that purple underneath theraleaf to keep sunlight from shining through their Leaf on to the forest floor helping to keep other other plants from grow underneath them. It's a way of keeping out the competition.

    I bought an anthurium crystallinum and it is doing badly. It didn't ship well and it came with a very droopy dying leaf that I had to cut off. After cutting that off the second leaf started yellowing . There are only 2 leaves left. The main leaf looks like it's ok for now. Any tips? I don't think it can take another leaf chop :(

    How do you get rid of thrips? I had two beautiful Mican philodendron that I bought at the supermarket put it in one pot and then all of a sudden one day almost all the leaves died and I noticed little holes in the leaves so I assumed it was thrips. Then I had a cutting growing in a different part in the same room and it started to get little holes in the leaves none of the other plants were affected. I sort of wipe them down and sprayed some alcohol but I'm not sure it worked. The Cutting was really long over a foot so I took node cuttings one leaf and the note with the roots the aerial roots and have spotted them up and some soil with a plastic bag over them to help them root. But please let us know how you got rid of the thrips

    Can I repot my anthurium during winter? I have 2 plants in one pot and the roots are growing out of drainage holes now, can I separate them now during winter time in Denmark?

    • @ThePlantsMeow
      @ThePlantsMeow  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I haven’t had any issues repotting during winter. I find plants kept inside the house remain the same all year. If there is a dramatic change in temperature, light and humidity within your home then you might want to wait. I regulate all of these things through central heating/ac, fans, grow lights and humidifiers. I am currently repotting a bunch right now! :) I always say that if your plants needs it then why wait?

    25:21 Do you think it is possible that the plant doesn't get enough light? Since the silver has the "job" to reflect/redirect incoming light towards the chlorophyll in nature, I assume it is a possibility that it feels the urge to produce more silver to be able to get more light.

    • @ThePlantsMeow
      @ThePlantsMeow  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hmmm that is very interesting! Wouldn’t it benefit the plant more to overproduce chlorophyll? Would the silver reflect toward its own chlorophyll? I had never considered that. That room is filled with grow lights and a big window so I’m not sure if it’s a lack. But it’s nice to hear a good theory!! Thank you 🙌🏼

    • @pitschl
      @pitschl 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ThePlantsMeow I assume that very much depends on the DNA / tactics of a certain species on how to cope with light or the lack of, meaning that one kind might overproduce chlorophyll (like a Waroqueanum), an other one, whose method it is to reflect light (like this one) might grow bigger reflective areas.
