To me it certainly looks like a botch as KO tried to move in quickly to try and stop Sami landing on the apron. But I think after that, they decided to add attacking Sami's injury on the fly and incorporating it into the match.
Definitely a botch. His spring off the ropes wasn't right so he didn't have the proper rotation, luckily Owens caught it and went in to play out the move from being too much of a disaster.

The one thing that I hated about Battleground was the predictability regarding the U.S and I.C titles as it was incredibly obvious that Miz would retain as soon as Rusev retained because you can't have both titles on Raw.
There was a really great character building moment that kind of got lost in the shuffle, and kind of showed off Ambrose's attitude towards authority and being on Smackdown. When he had that promo with Bryan and Shane and both of them were just building him up like crazy, and Ambrose responded very casually, as if nothing about that night was a big deal and it was probably one of my favorite moments of the night.
I feel like Stephanie is gonna get super salty and bring out the old WCW title for raw, And Smackdowns responce will be bringing out a second Tag team titles. Just guessing :P

I enjoyed the highlight reel, it was way more interesting than nearly every talk show segment in the last months. You felt that Orton was truly happy to be back and they both simply had a good chemistry.
I totally agree with Adam the only minor complaint I have is that I actually quite enjoyed the Highlight Reel promo and Orton's RKO was just perfect but yeah I think Battleground 2016 just became one of my favourite PPVs in the past 5 years and one of my most anticipated for the years to come who ever thought it's gonna become so good back in 2013
The Jericho segment was really good. My only improvement would be if randy insulted Chris which led to a code breaker attempt that got countered into an RKO, but other then that I enjoyed it. The only problem I have with the whole show is the IC title finish. I also wanted both man to win for different reasons, but the ending was just so bad.
For a shock to the Highlight Reel, I would have had Jericho trash talk, introduce Randy Orton, RKO straight away and then a promo on Brock Lesnar with the 'no enhancement needed' line. Quick and simple with a memorable moment.
That KO vs Zayn... a match of perfection... The storytelling was perfect The Fans was perfect The match was perfect... imo this has to be a dave meltzer 5 star match... Idk how to describe it to me that match was as good as Nakamura vs Zayn or even better then that... this was legit the best PPV of the year
SZ vs KO was easily one of the best matches of the year, if not the best. The whole botch/kayfabe thing had me wondering about the match in a way I've never ever been. Great ppv overall, but these two guys stole the show. It's been a while since I saw a crowd enjoying a match like that.

the look on The Uso's face while rooting for Ambrose along with the SD roster backstage was priceless... And then, to see them hoisting ambrose over their shoulders after the win.. spillover effect from Roman's punishment, i suppose
The ending to the Shield triple-threat did surprise me, but in a good way. I fully expected Roman or Seth to win the belt so they can then feud with it on Raw. Dean retaining instead was pretty awesome.
Finally! Someone who agrees with me completely! I felt the exact same way about every match as Adam B. did. ZAYN-OWENS WAS PHENOMENAL. I've felt this way only about one other match this year. All in all, a great show.
As far as non wrestling events during Battleground I thought Randy Orton's comment was by far the greatest part. Especially Chris Jericho's reaction to the shoot.
Sami Zayn vs KO actually had me in fucking tears. I've never cried watching a wrestling match. The fucking storytelling. I thought I was watching the tragic ending of a movie. I'm so glad Whatculture got me back into wrestling.

Only thing that bothers me is that there was not a single title change. I just like it better if there is atleast one belt changing hands, good ppv however.
Battleground was freakin' amazing. Just about everything you said was spot-on, though I have to disagree with the Highlight Reel section. I liked it. The reason why I liked it was because Orton seemed way into it. Like pretty much everybody else, I noticed that for the past five years or so, Orton was looking bored, like he wasn't having fun with the angle he was working. This segment worked for me because Orton seemed to be having a genuinely good time, cracking jokes and grinning. Of course, it might just be because he's back after nine months, but it's still noticeable. And as for Raw when it comes to a world title, I think they'll bring back the WHC, name Rollins and Reigns the number one contenders, they'll have a match at SummerSlam, which Reigns will win thanks to Stephanie McMahon, turning him heel and Rollins face(-ish).
My first ppv attending. Was amazing. When Bayley came out the arena exploded with noise. Wyatt v new day was definitely a good time Rusev v Ryder there were "we want Lana chants". I agree Owens v Zayn was ,at his of the night. Crowd was wild Natalya v Becky was just there Darren v The Miz there were slight "put your shirt on chants" for Bob Backlund. 6 man tag was just all around good. Hilarious Enzo segment great match. "Soccer Mom" chants were quite amusing Randy Orton return was decent. I was just glad to see Orton... AND AN RKO OUTTA NOWHERE Shield Triple Threat was amazing. Roman booed out of DC. There was a guy next to me who was a Roman fan though.. Hurts my insides... When Dean won I don't really think anybody expected it and it was awesome I absolutely loved this ppv and I am so happy I got to see it in person. Now gotta go watch it on the network lol

There was a really great character building moment that kind of got lost in the shuffle, and kind of showed off Ambrose's attitude towards authority and being on Smackdown. When he had that promo with Bryan and Shane and both of them were just building him up like crazy, and Ambrose responded very casually, as if nothing about that night was a big deal and it was probably one of my favorite moments of the night.
I feel like Stephanie is gonna get super salty and bring out the old WCW title for raw, And Smackdowns responce will be bringing out a second Tag team titles.

I enjoyed the highlight reel, it was way more interesting than nearly every talk show segment in the last months. You felt that Orton was truly happy to be back and they both simply had a good chemistry.

I totally agree with Adam the only minor complaint I have is that I actually quite enjoyed the Highlight Reel promo and Orton's RKO was just perfect but yeah I think Battleground 2016 just became one of my favourite PPVs in the past 5 years and one of my most anticipated for the years to come who ever thought it's gonna become so good back in 2013
The Jericho segment was really good. My only improvement would be if randy insulted Chris which led to a code breaker attempt that got countered into an RKO, but other then that I enjoyed it. The only problem I have with the whole show is the IC title finish. I also wanted both man to win for different reasons, but the ending was just so bad.

For a shock to the Highlight Reel, I would have had Jericho trash talk, introduce Randy Orton, RKO straight away and then a promo on Brock Lesnar with the 'no enhancement needed' line. Quick and simple with a memorable moment.

SZ vs KO was easily one of the best matches of the year, if not the best. The whole botch/kayfabe thing had me wondering about the match in a way I've never ever been. Great ppv overall, but these two guys stole the show. It's been a while since I saw a crowd enjoying a match like that.

The ending to the Shield triple-threat did surprise me, but in a good
way. I fully expected Roman or Seth to win the belt so they can then
feud with it on Raw. Dean retaining instead was pretty awesome.
Finally! Someone who agrees with me completely! I felt the exact same way about every match as Adam B. did. ZAYN-OWENS WAS PHENOMENAL. I've felt this way only about one other match this year. All in all, a great show.

Sami Zayn vs KO actually had me in fucking tears. I've never cried watching a wrestling match. The fucking storytelling. I thought I was watching the tragic ending of a movie. I'm so glad Whatculture got me back into wrestling.

It really was a great PPV. A few bathroom breaks but the positives you mentioned were spot on. It did its job in elevating the right stars and that's all I can ask for

I actually enjoyed the Highlight Reel with Jericho and Orton; but yes, it did drag along a bit too much. It was good entertainment IMO... also, Lana's undies were shown during the main event when the camera was showing the locker room during the match... it wasn't there for long but you could definitely see them. ;)

Only thing that bothers me is that there was not a single title change. I just like it better if there is atleast one belt changing hands, good ppv however.
Battleground was freakin' amazing. Just about everything you said was spot-on, though I have to disagree with the Highlight Reel section. I liked it. The reason why I liked it was because Orton seemed way into it. Like pretty much everybody else, I noticed that for the past five years or so, Orton was looking bored, like he wasn't having fun with the angle he was working. This segment worked for me because Orton seemed to be having a genuinely good time, cracking jokes and grinning. Of course, it might just be because he's back after nine months, but it's still noticeable.
And as for Raw when it comes to a world title, I think they'll bring back the WHC, name Rollins and Reigns the number one contenders, they'll have a match at SummerSlam, which Reigns will win thanks to Stephanie McMahon, turning him heel and Rollins face(-ish).
