The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation confirmed that Nathaniel Radimak, 37, was freed on Wednesday “after serving his full sentence as defined by law,” the department said in a statement.

That is messed up. The judge, and any other prosecutors that worked on that plea deal and trial should be fired and sued for negligence if anything happens when he is released.
The DA's office knows time served and good behavior is what the California Department of Corrections implements upon time behind bars, sooooooo, instead of sentencing him to 5 years, which based on each charge, sounds like the low end of time for each charge, sentence him to the max for each charge, so that he ends up staying longer than the commercial break length time he stayed behind bars. As a fellow Angeleno, i feel the pain of Los Angeles. Our city has gotten more and more violent and the violence continues because the perpetrators are always bavk out on the streets.
I'm not sure how much time the DA asked for but the Judge does the sentencing

I work in a county jail in California. Sentencing here is a joke. Criminals automatically only have to do 80% of their sentence, then get one day off for every day they are "good." So at best, they are doing 50% of 80% of their original sentence. Then with prison realignment, which is just a fancy way of saying that inmates will serve their time in county jail versus state prison so the state can claim to be "saving" money, the county jails have to release inmates before the ends of their sentences on a DAILY basis to be in compliance with state-mandated overcrowding laws. I've seen criminals get sentenced to months in jail, only to be released the day after they are sentenced. That's it. They are all done. They have no more consequences from the crime they committed. The jail I work in releases an average of 10-15 prisoners every day. Gavin Newsome is a complete P O S!
