While there are some among us who push hate there are many more among us who live up to the ideals of this country. When we fight the good fight for equality we make this a more livable nation for all.

I love Dickerson's "Debates don't matter, except when they do, and they mattered this election."
Done right, with strict moderators and fact checking, I think debates show *basic competence*. You might disagree with one person, but if they took the heat and remained articulate for their own side, that's all you need. Most of the time both sides should win. Thats why debates don't usually matter.

What people don't understand is that elections are only every four years so this is really only the third election in the modern social media era where info is shared almost immediately across the globe. People are able to tune in at work on their phones or anywhere they are. They can also watch the replays at their own leisure. It's not like it was before the 2016 election which was in 2012 where the internet and social media were still fairly new and info was still slow to be shared. Everything is amplified now bc of this dynamic. That's why they couldn't hide bidens condition as they may have been able to pre 2016. More people are more into politics now bc of it even if it's just cursory

Because he believes every single word he says, while he says it... and he'll believe the contradicting statement that he'll say next, too. When he admits the loss, and when he denies the loss... he's 100% convinced of it. He certainly lies, too... but a whole lot more of it is just that his BS addled brain had given up on ever truly knowing what it thought about much of anything years ago.

International takes in this debate are roughly 90% that Kamala Harris did manage to deal effectively with the ex-president while not getting petty or falling for his blatant lies.
Unfortunately he came across (internationally) as a very erratic person frequently mentioned as "unhinged" from European commentators.
Add in the support from Taylor Swift after that AI manipulation of her image, which didn't go over well, then her statement about her supporting Kamala Harris, it was a good outcome for Kamala Harris as far as most international reviews.

It makes it much harder for the listener to listen to all the segments because we’re having to click the next video. Take a look at how they do it for the Jimmy Kimmel show. No the debate does not matter for majority of the people watching, most people who watch already made up their mind and those who did not watch simply dont care about election or they had other obligations. The debate was unnecessary in Biden vs trump because both of them were president and we knew their policies and which direction they will go. Biden performance was caused by him catching a cold and it was understandable and relatable but it was blown up by the media and the crazies. next time you see someone sick at work, flu/cold/cancer, tell them to quit their job is the message those DINOs were giving out.

Check the Wikipedia article List of Republicans who oppose the 2024 Donald Trump presidential campaign. There are organized groups of Republican voters campaigning against him. Please notice, flags and hats don't vote, people do. Many conservatives got tired of him, have seen through his lies, or got disillusioned after January 6 and the convictions. Trump got 3 million fewer votes than Hillary, 7 million fewer votes than Joe. What has he done in the last years that can make him more attractive for the 81 million people who voted against him?

Remember, Trump is a talented liar in some ways. He's been practicing at it for over half a century. That in combination with that he does actually have charisma means it should not be too surprising that he has managed to brainwash so many people into being his supporters. Not everyone is able to see through his lies. That's why its the responsibility of those who do have the ability to be charismatic not to abuse it as Trump does.
Personally, I trust in our creator to iron this out and bring accountability as should be brought in the best way.

I wonder when he started? I noticed my daughter at 7 or 8 began telling little fibs and it became progressively more as she became older. She isn't the pathological liar that he is, but still engages in fibs now as an adult. Her father who is my ex and was totally absent from our lives since she was 3 was a pathological liar and I wonder if it is an inherited trait? I need to look up information on this as surely this has some type of research on it.

@@ashbeck1736 He was raised in a family where criminality was normalized. His father once went to one of his casinos and gambled away money to try and save it. He also gave him a loan of 1 million dollars. Back then, the IRS may not have been aware of these sorts of actions as tax dodges. So, it's hard to say. We could toss out various numbers, but I'd say by 18 he's an adult in the eyes of the law at least. Whether or not that's where he started is ambiguous.
He's 78 now, so that's at least 60 years if we start at 18 for Trump.

@@kontrygrll01amerika54 Not saying we don't need to put forward efforts. Trump is quite a bit more dangerous than people give him credit for. Just him being in office for 4 years was damaging to the country. Even his ads are insidious. The ads refer to him as president Trump. Not former president Trump. Again, he's had a LOT of experience as a liar and at manipulating the public. Fortunately, this time around we know who he is. Also, I think he's lost several steps. In the past I would not expect him to make such a clumsy lie like the one during his debate about cats and dogs being eaten (I invite the Trump supporters to put forward the information on a website if they're so confident and have the Trump campaign tout it).
