interesting, but since i do not speak "Cebuano/bisayan", and there was no English translation subtitles, i was not able to understand. However, i have visited Carcar, Cebu, for 3 weeks in May every year from 1999 through 2019 with my late wife who passed away in 2020. We were married for 40 years. I am from Southern Illinois, and i was never able to learn Bisaya, mostly because i was too lazy to learn, and also because my late wife was my translator whenever i visited Cebu. I understand it was my lack of effort and my loss not to learn bisaya from my late wife. My late wife still has a daughter (not mine) and 8 grand children living in Carcar, Cebu. I was just wondering how you were able to learn to speak bisaya, and how long did it take for you to speak bisaya so fluently. My guess is that you may have studied bisaya at a Mormon missionary school somewhere in Utah, for i have met a few Mormon missionaries in Carcar, Cebu, many years ago, and they were also fluent in bisaya. Anyway, i enjoyed "listening" to you speak bisaya even if i was not able to understand, just like i always enjoyed listening to my late wife speak bisaya with her relatives in Carcar, Cebu. I do know a few "bisayan words", with the help of "binisaya.com, hehehe. Maayo Suerte uban imo podcast. Amping kanunay (*_*)

Hi David, thank you for your comment! I appreciate it. I'm very sorry for your loss. Wow, 40 years - that is amazing! Your guess is correct, I lived in the Bisayas as a missionary for 2 years! It took me about 6 months of living there and limiting myself to speaking Cebuano only before I could maintain a simple conversation with a local. I began to feel comfortable with the language after about a year of talking with people. Haha that is a great website, I've used it many times before! Thank you for the comment, I wish you the best! Amping pod og kanunay!
