Hi There Pavol, Thanks for a great tuition vidio on this radio, One of which I now have. I have operated one at a friends house back in February this year since I bought mine, and also operated a 7610 in the shop where I bought mine from. My 7610 is still in it's box though, and from the manual and some of the other videos that I have seen, It all looks very complicated. Also, at the moment, I am still stuck with the 250B vertical antenna like the one that you had some time ago. Altough this video is over 4 years old, I think I've only just found it again, & I find it very informative and educating. I look forward to seeing a few more 7610 education Videos from you at some point in the future, if or when you have time. Kind Regards, Ray, M0RAY.
Thanks Ray. The IC7610 is good radio. My opinion is that is also easy to use. All main features you have straight on the screen or front panel. Menu is less complicated than modern Yeasu radios 😉👍 Yes, actually I could make more educational videos with 7610, good idea. Best 73
I would get either lost in the menus or I would just put it on one setting and work it like an analog radio. I would hope that I would utilize the radio to the best of the radio's ability. I bought an OLD Yaesu FT-990 and after two years am just getting it working to some of it's capabilities. The other day I worked Brazil, Slovenia, and Slovak Republic back to back. I finally discovered DX and when it is booming in!!! Love the videos! Enjoy that rig!!!!!
Thank you Bob for your comment! Yes is good to have great transceiver but the main thing what DXer need is a good antenna in the great hight. If DXer have it so doesn't matter which transceiver he use :-) That's true... ;-) 73 paul. I am looking forward to meet you on the air!
Are you able to control the RF gain on Sub when you are in DUAL watch mode? I can only control it on the Main for some reason. RFG shows up next to the Sub S meter, but has no effect.
@@OM0ET Actually Paul, waiting for the price to drop is probably the way it will work, whether I want it to or not. *lol* I was away from Amateur Radio for many years, but have fallen in love with it all over again. I've just spent too much money in just less than a month to invest anymore, at least right now. 73
Great video as always Paul, I have an icom 751 and apparently this would work it has a transverter port on the back for the low input power, but my question is how to incorporate a CTCSS tone, any ideas. Many thanks for sharing this txverter. Barnie.
How loud is the T/R relay on the Icom 7610 radio? I used to use a Kenwood TS-940 using AMTOR ARQ and full break-in CW decades ago. The T/R relay is very quiet in the Kenwood TS-940. I have also used a Kenwood TS-430, and the T/R relay is very loud, so using AMTOR ARQ and full break in CW would not be acceptable with the loud T/R relay. How loud is the T/R relay in the Icom 7610 radio?
@@OM0ET It's one of the possible transceivers I had in mind. I am also interested in the MB1 from Expert Electronics, it seems to be a well integrated SDR transceiver, but with a bit different price tag...I am still gathering information via youtube about both, thanks for the feedback!.
@@OM0ET That is what I am doing. The Audio scopes replaces the waterfall scopes. I must be missing something else.. I am running 1.2 I found it. I hit the M Scope button to go back and it turned all four scopes on. Thanks for your help. W0HL
I have only had my 7610 for a couple of weeks and it’s OK but it’s not the quality of the ICOM 7700 by a long shot. The build quality is honestly sad for an over $3200 plus taxes investment.
I just ordered an IC-7610 and can't wait to get it. Should be here by the end of the week.

Wow, this is a really nice transceiver.
Thank you! ;-)
I'll have an IC-7610 one day, but it may take a second job to be able to afford one. I hope my wife is up to working two jobs! *lol* *Thanks Paul!*
:-) or you can wait until price will drop to more better price ;-) or buy the second hand rig. 73

@@OM0ET tnx for reply! 73!

What firmware version do you have? I have 1.20
Thank you.
Very beautiful display and transceiver!

What is IMPULS CZ next to the left VFO at 3:00? TU
It's a memory preset to the SW broadcast station 😊
Ahhh! Thanx
Hello, In your last QSO the signal meters left and right show different levels in reception, could you explain how this happened please? best, Pascal
Hello. Left of the SUB s-meter is small symbol RFG it means that on the SUB receiver is lowered RF gain witch caused this difference 😉 73, Paul
@@OM0ET OK, thanks, this explains it! just learning a bit through the internet, 73s:)

A fine video on manipulating 7610's screens!
How do you get all four screens on the bottom? I can only get two at a time.
Hi Dennis. Set scopes to DUAL and SIDE BY SIDE MODE. Set DUAL WATCH ON. Go to menu and turn on AUDIO SCOPES.

Good choice 😉👍
interesting om
It would be nice if you could program a few different screens in memory and then recall with a few less key strokes.
good tip! Thanks. I will use it in the next videos ;-) 73
Congrats,nice video,really clear.
