I never imagined the day I would actually consider going back and finishing Homestuck, but I went and downloaded the Unofficial Collection today after this stream, guess WHERE MAKIN IT HAPEN.
Honestly though, a Homestuck stream could've been easily memed, but you wanted to showcase the absolute love you have for the worldbuilding and you put it in such an easily digestible way that I think it convinced even the more cynical in at least trying it out. I only really dropped out of Homestuck (and the MSPA fandom in general) because of the increasing hiatuses while it was still ongoing, so I'm glad that you gave me a push to finish it, despite being aware that it can be flawed and messy. I *really* missed out on when the troll stuff became peak in the narrative, so I'm looking forward to doing a reread with fresh eyes.
I took the classpect quiz twice, swapping some answers around where I've been 50/50 and I got Sylph of Space and Page of Breath. Unfortunately I didn't take these quizzes back when I was still reading HS, but it's been fun to see how some people's classpects has changed over the years. What a lovely idea representing character growth.
Anyway, I also appreciate that you didn't actually dive that deep into the actual story (though I count Homestuck as one of those convoluted narratives where anything that seems spoiler-y isn't really a spoiler or doesn't make sense in context). Thank you again for the wonderful stream and for using my art! Your overlay was wonderful so I'm deeply flattered to have contributed to it.
It's also just fun to be reminded of why the SBURB side of things is so fun! I'm more wild about Alternia stuff, but this made me want to go back and classspect my trolls again lol. Also I felt very clever about how many of my Caste + Classpect headcanons for the boys matched up with yours. It's so much fun too that you can have completely different configurations depending on how you want to apply different character journeys, the fluidity of the system is just so good.
Also since everyone is sharing, I retook the classpect quiz and got Sylph of Space! I've literally always gotten space for my aspect, even on the official extended zodiac quiz, but my class has evolved over time which is fun. Went from Rouge ==> Mage ==> Sylph.

In highschool i was a Sylph of Mind. I took the quiz again now that Im 24 and I'm a Knight of Light now! Im a Dave Rose mashup 😂
For real though I think this shows a lot of my growth as a person in a real sense.
My entire childhood, I was surviving abuse and neglect from my parents and I truly, deeply hated myself. I tried really hard just to find 1 thing I could like about myself and 1 thing to live for (because I was also sewer-slide-al). That 1 thing was my friends and making them smile. Although a great idea for something to live for, this became unhealthy. Some of my friends were depressed and didn't like themselves, either. I made it my personal responsibility to make sure they were happy. If they weren't happy, it was my fault and I lost my reason for living.
So, of course, this earned me the classpect of Sylph of Mind. I tried being almost like a therapist for my friends. Well, as much of a therapist a middle schooler could be. But I gotta give my preteen self credit, the advice I did give my friends wasn't ever terrible advice.
Now as an adult who hasn't talked to their abusers in years, Im now so filled with hope and happiness and love for the people and little family I do have in my life. Im actually a daycare teacher now, teaching and caring for young children from 2 months old to 5 years old. I love my children so much and I see so much potential in them. Im so grateful I have the privilege to help these children grow and watch them become bigger humans.
I think I fit Knight of Light pretty well, now :)
This stream was so nostalgic, I remember following Homestuck when it was nd getting those daily updates slowly building up the story, and just wondering what was up with these kids playing their weird game, it's insane how complex and deep it became in the end

I just regressed to my college days with this stream... Thank you Ruze! So glad to see Homestuck representation in the vtuber scene.
I missed out on Homestuck when it was at its peak. Mostly because back than my English wasn't the best and I mostly stuck with the part of the internet that I could understand. However, even there you would occasionally come across a Homestuck mention or a drawing of a Trollsona. So I knew of it but never went down that rabbit hole even after becoming more fluent in English. This stream was actually so much fun, diving into something that I missed out on.
It's always nice to see people talk about their passions, especially if it's someone that you already appreciate for their opinions and that you like listening to. It also reminds me of myself talking about one of my favourites - One Piece
Also, the amount of work that was put into this stream was crazy - The intro screen, the background, the slides, the model, the Holostars Trollsonas..... (obv. huge compliments to all the artists and to Ruze for putting it all together)

Seer of Time here! I have done fanart and cosplay of Homestuck when I was younger even tho my english at the time was not good. Not only i met a lot of friends but i learned a lot of weird english too. I never though that I would see my fave-worst idol vtuber talking about something so dear to me HAKSJAS THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE STREAM it was incredible.

i cant believe i would come back around to being interested in Homestuck thanks to a Crimzon Ruze my least favorite Idol. Ya actually did it! I search up Cascade animation for the first time in whole decade and couldnt believe that such impactful and important piece of media seemingly just got wiped put out of public consciousness, including mine. I remembered my so ever beloved trollsona and my complete lack of understanding of all the time and space shenanigans, which never affected my enjoyment of the story and especially character writing. The amount genuine love and care that seeps out of homestuck is insane and awe inspiring. I cant wait to go through this journey, but now as adult a whole decade later. thank you for this stream dude!

(Sylph of Space (Beta) -> Maid of Space (Alpha)) Homestuck was how I was able to make friends when I moved from an entirely different time zone. My English was horrible but this weird webcomic brought me and my best friend (moirail) together and made the both of us come out of our awkward shells and gave us the live-long ride or die friends that we have now!

Thank you for the fantastic stream! I'm one of the ppl who kinda saw Homestuck cosplays around the internet but never even knew what they were from, other than that they were kinda vaguely infamous of something. Hearing the depth of the worldbuilding, characters, plot, everything; it's glorious and fascinating and you explained it thoroughly with such an infectious interest that I found myself amazed around every corner of this 3 hr long video.
I imagine the time is soon where I'll get into the series!!

When I think about it, it's kinda cool that Megalovania went from being Vriska's song to Sans' b/c of how diametrically opposed their characters are. Vriska's a wannabe hero who tries to look cool but fails, almost killing everyone for it & Sans couldn't care less about glory, but he'll step in & show his actual terrifying strength if Frisk falls & becomes Chara in his attemp to save the world (& would've succeeded if Frisk/Chara couldn't reset time to a fixed point)
The passion you have for this fandom comes across so clearly in the stream! I love all the graphics and assets and the little nods to the lore in the ppt. Otsuruze!

On another note, I was familiar of Homestuck but I wasn't in deep. My knowledge solely came from my good friend in highschool who was very passionate about the series and I was very drawn to her story telling (and fanfiction making hehehe) so listening to this gave me a warm sense of nostalgia ;-; I remember I would draw a lot of homestuck characters for her and help her out with her cosplay photoshoot :')
i wasn't following many vtubers before / i don't watch a lot of content from vtubers, but my friends do. and they never really got into homestuck, but i did. so they sent me this, and this was such a nostalgia trip LMAO. followed!
i also took the classpect quiz. many years ago (idk, within the last decade wow) - i took a totally different quiz, with some non canon classes - but i did get the doom aspect. taking the one linked in this video - i got mage of heart! :3

I got Seer of Breath, it says wise and logical but idk about that after sitting through 3 hours of Homestuck LORE but for real thank you for the in-depth stream the quality was God tier without too many spoilers. now I can start on reading it and spreading the lore for myself

This stream was terrific! I never engaged with Homestuck (I only vaguely knew of its existence), but I feel like this stream and the Pesterquest one have given me context in retrospect for friends who must have been fans- like I’ve experienced the vibe of Homestuck before purely through cultural osmosis of how it affected people’s personalities, without ever talking about it directly. It’s wild.
I also see a lot of my own creative writing attempts echoed in the design, systems, and goals of the world-building and character writing you talked about, so after listening to you go on an appreciation rant for over 3 hours, I’m both intrigued to know more about Homestuck, and motivated to get back to my own writing.

Through your stream I think I’ll be able to power through and read it with my (hopefully) better reading skills once im finished with my uni work. Thank you for this stream! I never got into Homestuck and despite the efforts of the Tempura and Armada, none of the explanations have sunk in. YES, your yapping has its uses! I was waiting for the full, proper PowerPoint Presentation to explain what the hell Homestuck is and now I feel like I have at least a basic grasp on it. i know i’m late but i’ve been slowly making my way through the vod during my work breaks and i finally got to finishing it!!! i’m a new homestuck fan, i got into in december, and i can’t say how happy i am to see this stream! i was reluctant to read it for so many years because my birthday is 4/13, and in middle school all of my geeky friends forgot my birthday three years in a row in favor of homestuck lol! but now in my 20s i am turning into one of them!!! im a sylph of space, and honestly this stream really helped me gain a better understanding of mine and all the other classpects! id love to see more hs streams from you in the future!!!!

Homestuck came out after I was already an adult, so i only knew about it peripherally. That being said, it was really fun to hear you talk about something you obviously feel passionately about. I took the quiz and got Muse of Heart, not really sure what that means.

homestuck was so important in my life,i joined into the fandom in its second year,and i literally would read the comic to the point of getting dizzy from exhaustion.
homestuck literally helped me so much with learning english,and now im certified as fluent in it as my second language.
went from serf of mind when the comic was running (serf was kinda like the male version of muse that the fandom kinda invented,but serves the same purpose) to a page of space,so i guess i got a power down to get a power up eventually somehow?
What a fun time this stream was. I only got into Homestuck early last year, but this felt like watching someone ramble on about a childhood hyperfixation. Amazing stuff, Ruze. This is why you're my least favorite idol.

I appreciate that quick rundown thing being repeated a few times, it helped. I process stuff kinda slowly sometimes and miss stuff while mentally absorbing what was just said before... it was helpful. That quiz said I'm a space sylph. It said that's a healer and I guess I can teleport around to do my healing where needed? Sounds kinda fitting. This Homestuck stuff came out in 2009 huh... I had gotten married a couple months prior and was busy studying to be a vet-tech and trying to get a job at a vet clinic. So I guess animal healer! Yeah.

Honestly, I think the empress was happy to just be in power. It wasn't about the quality of life for her people, just that she was in charge. From what I understand, she was an active participant in the whole space conquest and didn't do much visiting to the home planet. SYLPH OF SPACE THOUGH, VERY COOL.
